At the bolded, for Liverpool or for Netherlands?

Even at that, reducing what Lampard did for his team and what Ward does currently to just scoring goals doesn't capture their true influence on the pitch...
Bellingham has scored a lot of goals for Madrid, and while it has won them points and helped them lead La Liga, Bellingham is still an ever important player when he doesn't score...
E get reason why I even ignore that Wijnaldum own.
I no sure that guy see five goals per season for Liverpool even though he's an ever present member of your squad and ever reliable (,ie hardly goes to injury).

I just highlighted one of the things i want him to start doing for us. But the main aim is to change the corner routine. From biggest last season to struggling and it Kickstarting counters against us in last 5 games. Soo poor. A tweak is needed!
I don't know the sense behind that corner.
I mean, we play our corner at the near post where it's even the zone of opposition defenders. EPL defenders who are tall for that matter. It's like simply dashing them our corner kicks for them to counter us. No wonder it's only one corner we have scored since even though we're one of the teams that have the highest corners this season.
Little wonder we're mostly counter attacked after a corner

I don't think even not making Saka a corner kick taker will even work with that corner tactics that's sabotaging us.

It's really sabotaging us and the worst part is that we're doing the same thing over and over again expecting something different

Sigh!!😩

I will answer you straight with patience.

First of all, I am not arguing Giroud Vs RVP.

Secondly I have never said Giroud is better. I'd be stupid to do that.

Thirdly what I am arguing is if Giroud was 'very
very average' for Arsenal according to Jodera. (Please note that by saying very very average' it a kind way of saying useless)

To buttress my point I compared his years with us to that of other strikers. (Jodera and co only hooked on to RVP simply because it was a cheap score. That's because RVP was not the only striker I brought up, I also brought up Adebayor and Lacazette)

My point is that given that Giroud has a G/G of 0.42 close to RVP 0.47 or Adebayor 0.43. We cannot emphatically say that he was useless unless we also want to say that RVP and Adebayor are useless.

Any argument should have been against Giroud not for RVP. For example they could have argued that Giroud did not contribute much to assists or that Giroud never instilled confidence in his teammates. That's OK. There was no need to start arguing in favour of RVP because that is not the purpose in the first place.

I hope?
You blasphemed when you graded Giroud and Rvp in the same class and say that they are on Par.

Any other thing wey you wan talk na Shalaye until you "unblaspheme" that talk.

Stay there make pant they wear you. Ward-Prowse is highly rated that's why West Ham signed him and that's why he is a main stay in their midfield and that's because of what he is special at.

Some midfielders are good at one thing or the other. Some passing, some tackling, some pressing, some goals. What ever it is will sell that player. Therefore when midfielders are being graded, we don't only look at passing or tackling, we can also look at goal contributions. In fact that was one of the things Arteta added to make Xhaka a fan favourite.

Like I said, dey there make pant dey wear you 😁😁😁
Who "highly rate" ward prowse? cheesy

Yes, he is so highly rated that no big team considered him and even his nation never considered him even when they're calling his teammates. He is so highly rated that a big team called "West Ham" who nearly relegated last season bought him from his own relegated club at the age of "29".
Yeah .. Make pant deh wear me grin

To you to think lampard is known for only goals deh muse me. Try watch lampard game live(not livescores pls grin) and you'll know he'll still be a highly rated Midfielder even without that amount of goals.

And please, it's not only goals that made Xhaka a highly rated Midfielder to us arsenal fans. Two seasons ago when he scored only 4 goals, (when arteta advanced him as an LAM), he was loved as we could see he was influencing games as never before. Even last season, before he scored that 2 dead rubber goals in the last match, he was also one of Arsenal favourite with 5 goals(prior to the last match). So no, goals was not the main criteria on why arsenal loved Xhaka before he left.

There are many midfielders whose specialty is goals. From Lampard to Ward-Prose to Wijnaldum. Some do not even contribute significantly to control. Their job is to make a late run into scoring positions. Meaning that goals can still be a yardstick to judge midfielders.

That said, there's what is called self delusion. That is someone trying to convince himself of what he knows is not true. What is not true here is that I said Havertz is a better player than Xhaka. When I have already said though they are at par on goals but Xhaka gives more control. You are now free to believe what you want, at least you know what self deluaion now means.
Lmaooo, You don't know what you're talking about if you think Lampard is all about Goals. Someone that have one of the best passing range and vision is whom you say is all about Goals?
Na now I really confirm say you be stats master grin

As for ward-prowse. There's a reason why he's not a highly rated Midfielder aside his deadballs specialty. Like I said as usual, keep on watching Livescores iyeh .

You can call it self delusion but na only person wey dey watch stats will make its first point of call to grade a Cm/Am with goals instead of the creativity and balance they bring in midfield.

I just thought of something

Can we relieve Saka from Corner kick duties and make him be actually part of those jostling for a header in the box?

Reason being that he will easily win fouls that will lead to pk(since last season he's top 2 winners)

He may also start getting more goals in the long run. Either this or he rotates it.
Lol... I don't think this is feasible. For one, the few times we cross(during open play), how many times have he actually competed for headers?
When Martinelli or Trossard crosses from the opposite side, how many times have he scored header through corners?

Besides, our corner tactics is even bad sef(I've complained about it more than once this season)

My advise for this little tweak is that let Arteta switch both of them. Maybe during counter, it'll make Saka and Martinelli take a one time shot instead of looking for a cut in and shoot (something even a 5yr old boy already know will happen). And also, their crossing will be effective cos it'll be a low drive cross with their stronger foot instead of a cut and inswing cross. Faster decision making process to me.

We need something different!!

You don't get it?
The first thing people rate Midfielder are your ability to control, be creative and dictate tempo. Saying they're at par in goals is you not saying anything if he still ghosts in midfield when he's suppose to be creative, control Midfield and bring stability.
Nobody likes wannabe McTom kinda performance

Odegaard for example in the season we finished 5th scored only league goals if I'm not mistaken but guys here was already happy for what he brings.

Rating a player above another is different from placing them in the same class. RvP has better stats than Giroud there is no doubt about this, it is clear. But their stats are close enough to place them within the same class.

Meanwhile...
I didn't say the stats were not enough. I said based on their stats so far, Xhaka and Havertz are at par. That is they have the same results basically. Xhaka scored just 7 goals last season. Havertz has only 4 with about 19games to go. He can still easily surpass Xhaka's record even with fewer games because he will not play up to 37 PL this season. I only concluded that the reason I will still prefer Xhaka (for now) is because of the stability that control games and the leadership too.
Is this not what we expect from a good Midfielder?
Bringing that creativity, control and stability in midfield?

Like I said, keep on watching Livescores.

Imagine saying Havertz and Xhaka are on par presently because of goals scored and not because of what they bring in midfield.

Let's use Rice for example. You think it's the goals he scored that's making people hype him the way he's been hyped presently?

I think we forget so soon that Timber is a defender.
In this team, we don't create enough goal scoring chances and dont score enough goals.
Let's forget about Timber for a moment and focus on the attackers (Saka, Mart, Jesus), and then the Feeders, i.e. the people who are supposed to service them (Odegaard, Rice). The attack is weak, the feed or service is also weak.

I remember our loss against Newcastle. People were angry that we got robbed. I was angry that we didn't do anything to hurt them in terms of chance creation.
Timber will only help to make the defense STEEL.
There's no one we have to make the attack elite. For even though it appears we have them, it is a case of elite today, and then leave u confused tomorrow.

RVP contributed more to the team overall play than Giroud. So he is a better player and goalscorer.

RVP G/G = 0.47
Giroud G/G = 0.42

Their goals per games ratios are similar. So in terms of their goal contributions as strikers, they are close. So if you say Giroud is very very average, what would you say about RVP? Or Adebayor G/G = 0.43. If you are looking for someone who isn't close, look at Lacazette G/G = 0.36

Mtchew!!!
Stats says they're on par

People who watched them both knows they're not on par in anyway at all and that it's blasphemy to even grade them in the same category

I don't know whether I should reply this because I still stand on my words.

I said I preferred ESR playing the LAM role simply because he is righted footed. I also said Havertz is a better player than ESR and being a German international proves it. The first statement has nothing to do with the second. I could also say Havertz is a better player than Ben White. That doesn't mean I'll prefer Havertz as a RB. You are just missing the point because of your agenda

On the Jesus Vs Nketiah matter, my point is still clear for anyone who cares to know. Jesus is a better player than Nketiah but Nketiah is a better goal scorer than Jesus. The reason is that Jesus drops deep and so loses focus on goals. Nketiah is more direct and a box striker and so scores more. But Arteta will always use Jesus because he brings more to the team. Guy we argued this and I even brought heat maps to prove it. If you disagree with anything thing I said here bring it up and stop fanning ambers of sympathy.

The Giroud matter is still fresh, you can still trace it back. You started it by saying Giroud is very average and I countered you with evidence you cannot refute till now. It's not late.

Is Giroud's goals contrition is similar to RVP? Yes or No.

The issue with using the bench has a lot to do with reliability IMO. The like of Tomiyasu, Partey, Nelson, ESR and Vieira have proven that they're not reliable due to their incessant injuries. I don't think any manager would want to put them at the heart of the team. Immediately we sold Xhaka, I was happy ESR will finally get his chance but man has been in and out of treatment room twice now. IMO, the foundation of the team needs to be reliable and available.
True talk tho but Arteta has shown he has trust issues regarding his bench so far.

Now that he has a fit Nelson for some time now, let's see whether he'll ever get to start him. One thing with Arteta is that even within his bench, he still has "First eleven".

The only time he switched up this season (especially that Midfield) was against Sheffield. He's hardly tried it before nor after.

I took my L in the Balogun case, simply because he went on loan.

As for Havertz, even till tomorrow I will still prefer ESR in that role. Go back and check, I have always preferred ESR and my reason is simple, he is right footed not necessarily about his performance. Also, you should take an L on Havertz because he will surpass Xhaka's goal record for a season.

For the Giroud case, I won that argument too with my stats which you couldn't counter. You depended on feelings whereas I brought facts. I only mentioned my preference for RVP just to let you know that you should stop making vague comments like 'Giroud is very very average' which was my actual grouse.

I don't do double mouth except you don't really understand my positions in argument.

The way you defend your opinion is like begging for sympathy from neutrals. I won't do that. I am rational not emotional.
Everyone knows this is a big Lie. Like a big fat lie. I've to even drag you to take your L but Rara, you went to manufacture another argument you made from the skies and claimed I was a party to it. Even till today you still haven't taken your L on him

On Havertz matter, you've never preferred ESR to that role right from onset. We even argued about it and you claimed Havertz was a better player than ESR in that role since he's a German int'l which ESR wasn't in his own country and other bla bla bla reasons. When the heat was much on Havertz, you switched mouth that you preferred ESR because he's right footed.

Even the Jesus-Nketiah palava, you still switched mouth saying Jesus is the better player for us than Nketiah after making mouth that if Jesus is not careful Nketiah would send him to the bench(same way you did for Nketiah— Laca)

Me begging for sympathy from neutrals. Do I tag anyone when making my debates with you?

Can we see your Giroud vs Rvp double mouth?

We have the players but injury is dealing with our bench.
I think our problem is the lack of flexibility in our playing structure and the fact that the players are mentally tired. The latter is evident with the way Gabriel and Rice were arguing and Martinelli ignoring handshake.

This is the same team that has been winning matches earlier this season. All I can say now is that they are mentally tired. Arteta needs to shake things up both on and off the field. And we need our subs back too. They should shake that injury off.
This same team have been winning earlier this season which is true but you'll notice even during the wins, most of us weren't comfortable with the play. It was as if we were struggling to win or play our game. They were always complaints here and there that our attack isn't as fluid as last season.

Why I might agree that they might be mentally tired, Arteta needs to trust his bench more. Nelson ought to be starting some matches as far back as weeks ago. ESR have been fit for some time, he needs to be starting matches too. Let this guys rest and recharge as well as knowing that their spot isn't guaranteed. He did that to Martinelli early this season and the first 2-3 matches after, Martinelli was playing good. That is even after having a good 2nd half cameo against Man city. Now, he has gone back to default settings.

He needs to shake these guys up and he also needs improve on his own formula workings too. This season hasn't been sweet in terms of performances. Na just defence they try hold us. This is what happens when you take the "defence wins you league" mantra too personally and that's what he's doing

Xhaka too played as a space controller. Havertz is younger and has time to learn. You will eat your words. Remember our argument between Lacazette and Nketiah? Or Jesus? I can spot talent and tactics 5miles away.
The only time I ate my words is that Nketiah won't bench Laca before season ends in 2021/22 season and I was man enough to admit it and collect the L.

But you?.....

From Balogun will see first team shirt. You change mouth just not to collect L

From Nketiah will bench Jesus before season ends. You change mouth just not to collect L

Even this Havertz own, you don even change mouth sef when him matter dey cast after saying you prefer ESR there and not him. Heaven knows that I won't give you any accolades if he turns out to be a great signing.

Anyone who knows you notice that you always pick 2 sides or change mouth so that once it goes the other way, you'll swiftly point out the other "mouth" but if it goes the way you initially wanted, you'll take the W.

You even just did so in the Van Persie — Giroud matter just as recently as ystdy

Whenever you're ready to hold onto an opinion with your full chest without changing mouth along the way, let me know
