Boss, it was Maitland Niles that cleared (blocked) that ball na. I knew the one you were talking about.
The first pix is the cutback. As a right footer, where are you expecting a striker to place that ball. You could see the opening/space and how sterling(marked black) have already angled his body to place the ball at the far corner
The 2nd picture, you could see where it was already going before it even hit Niles.
So tell me what Sterling would have done differently without bias.
Let's even forget the dribbling he did and key pass he made to open that defence. Something most of Chelsea attackers didn't do In the first half
A001: How many goals did this brightest attacker score on Saturday and how many has he scored this season? He (and Havertz) are Chelsea top scorer this season with only 6 goals in 24 matches (all competitions) for Sterling, and you expect a club of Chelsea standards to praise him.
Sterling is a poor attacker and doesn't deserve to be playing for us. You can buy him like you bought Jorginho.
He was the brightest attacker and the one that came close to scoring 2 goals on Saturday if not for excellent line clearance defending. Maybe if your other attackers had stepped up as he did, you might have gotten your first win.
As far as Saturday is concerned, he should be the last person to be criticized except of course he's in your blacklist too
timbros: Let Sterling and Pulisic do something wrong EXACTLY the same way, in the same sequence.
Airmark must have a way of excusing Pulisic BUT because it's Sterling, he will be roasted.
Hatred is a very bad thing.
It's just pure sentiments.
Pulisic is in his whitelist while Sterling is In his blacklist. Let pulisic do exactly same thing Sterling did on Saturday and we would have been hearing how he's the best thing after slice bread
First let me say I apprentice contributions by Nketiah standing in for GJ during his absence.
Nketiah is missing chances because he is not as clinical a top Arsenal striker should be. He is more like a poacher not one that can score all type of goals. He is still learning and I believe he will come good. But he is not as clinical as Kane or Haaland or even GJ.
Yet, he has more goals average as a starter for us than GJ. How do you explain this.
You told us that if he's stationed in the box and stop his running around, he'll have composure to score goals.
Now Nketiah is stationed mostly in the box and hardly runs around like you advised, so he ought to have more composure.
Tell us why he's missing big chances against Everton, Man city (twice) and Aston Villa, with all his whole composure?
You are right. I wasn't the one who talked about clinicality. It was Jo.dera.
Mine was about staying in the box. But I also said that Nketiah though less clinical will score more goals. The fact is Nketiah has more goals as a starter than GJ.. So despite being less clinical, he scores more because he is stationed in the box. He will miss a lot of clear chances but he will score more. I am right.
Now let Oga Jo.dera explain to us whether Nketiah is more clinical than GJ after missing those chances. 😜
Nketiah has more goals as a starter with 4 league goals against Jesus 5 league goals?
timbros: I've said it that following comments here will mislead someone that didn't watch a match.
If it's not personal bias, tell me how someone will criticise Sterling in that match.
it's just surprising really.
Whether any player does right or wrong, it doesn't matter, as long as that player is in certain people's blacklist, he's always wrong.
Imagine people still insulting Sterling when he was top 2 brightest attacker in Chelsea on Saturday. Yet pim is being said about Mudryk who lost possession countlessly and Madueke who was just there
A001: Sterling is another player we need to offload. He doesn't offer anything tangible in our attack.
He was the brightest attacker on Saturday. His two shots was cleared off the line by soton defenders after beating the keeper and the big chance he created for Mount who missed it.
I didn't know of any other attacker that came close to scoring for Chelsea on Saturday aside him yet he's the one criticized the most.
Person wey no watch the match go think say na him flop pass when in actual fact it's the opposite
popizaino: He played a shot against Aston villa and fortunately scored, are we going to conclude that those who accused him of not doing so while at Chelsea were liars ?
Jorginho played one shot against Aston Villa throughout the whole match. So that might be an anomaly. That's why I never brought up his shot
Meanwhile, Jorginho made countless forward passes and defence splitting passes against Aston Villa with just only one blown for offside, yet it's ONLY that one that is offside Hen.sben saw
So what do you want me to conclude about hens.ben?
When we were winning, you criticized Jesus for not scoring as he was sacrificing himself for the team at the expense of his own Goals. You even claimed If he isn't careful, Nketiah will bench him
My rebuttal was that, he isn't sacrificing his goals, that as well as creating chances, he's still getting at the end of chances. The big difference is that he's not just converting them unfortunately. And I proved it. My point is that with time Gj will be back in his clinical best and that Arteta would be working on it. Meanwhile, you termed it as him lacking composure
You brought Nketiah and others (Haaland and Kane) and said they're staying in the box and aren't doing running around or dropping deep hence have the composure to score when the opportunity arises.
Now, Nketiah is doing the staying in the box and not effectively doing what Gj is doing. Yet he still misses the big chances Gj was guilty of which you claimed the cause was lack of composure.
So my Question is simple: If with all the whole composure and advise Nketiah is doing and is still missing chances. So tell me, what is the cause of Nketiah's misses?
Spy360: Your over smartness was what Roland complained about.
If I say I prefer Akara to moimoi, that does not mean I said I hate moimoi.
I will never be tired of explaining myself to you until you get my point.
Someone rightly mentioned that GJ was not getting enough goals being the main striker. My response was that it was because of his style of play. That doesn't mean I didn't like the style. I only gave an explanation as to why he will not score many goals. I even said that though he doesn't get goals, he makes others score. That he sacrifices his goals for the benefit of other teammates.
You were the one who said GJ was not a good finisher. You said that he gets more chances that every other player, but misses them. You said Nketiah is a better striker.
Didn't you?
E be like say your eye don clear. Hang your boot keypad.
Lol .. You can claim you like his style of play but anyone who followed our conversation then know that you don't really do. You that claimed Jesus plays exactly like Laca and predicted that Nketiah might bench him?
Just dey play
Spy360: GJ is doing exactly what Lacazette was doing. If after a few more games and he doesn't score- meaning the team scores less goals, Nketiah will bench him. Nketiah is a fox in the box, he does not make that mistake of not being seen there.
afrodoc2: But why are you involved in this debate?
Chelshit play (and have played for a while) very turgid football with little imagination, creativity, or upfront movement. Even prime Michael Laudrup would not find it easy to give penetrating/forward passes in that system.
Arsenal on the other hand play an expansive style with lots of upfront movement and ideal spacing. It’s not rocket science that his forward passing would appear better with you guys.
The guy is still a defensive liability though, especially when it comes to transition defending.
The criticism of his backward/sideway passes was too much and it surprised me. It was as if he didn't even have it in his arsenal at all and if you notice, that's one of the main reasons (not the only reason) most arsenal where skeptical of his signing. I've watched one or two of his balls here and I do see forward pass sometimes, but anyone he didn't give(ie he decides to regulate), all hell will be let lose that he ONLY gives sideway pass. Na that him defensive quality weakness the weak me sha
Well, like you said, it's the system that really limited his progressive play
Spy360: Many of us don't understand why Arteta signed Gabriel Jesus. Apart from his work ethics, his style of play makes other players tick. This is because he is the centre of Arteta's tactical formation.
Jesus takes up spaces and positions of other players and releases them to make off the ball runs. We may argue, but his absence affected the performance of all our attackers except Saka. Saka is excluded simply because he is good enough to adapt, play as an individual or in combinations. But others like Martinelli, Xhaka and Odegaard were affected.
In Emefiele's voice- if you want to argue come out let's argue.
So you now agree that his style of play make our other attackers tick and that it leads to more chance creation yet you've always opposed Jesus from being a creator and his work ethic citing that he should stick to his primary duties shebi?
The way you don dey talk now, someone would think you were never against Jesus style of play from beginning.
hensben: Yes he is. He occasionally throw those passes and when he does it is mostly late because the attacker already ran offside. I can only only remember two successful one he gave to Tammy and Havertz
Spy360: I have never rated Nketiah above Gabriel Jesus. It's you who wrote an epistle describing how he is a better finisher than Gabriel Jesus, didn't you?
Spy360: He needs to reduce his involvement, allow Saka and Martinelli to do the chance creation and f**king stay in the box. He has all it takes to be a clinical goal scorer.
Na this thing I want make you answer. In fact in one of your quotes, you said what he's doing is hurting the team
Now, Nketiah is doing exactly this thing you said above yet he's missing goals. So I ask, why is he missing his big chances recently?
airmark: Madueke has shown that in no time he will blend well and deliver. Barring injuries, because they have started to kick him too, he will deliver what we have been lacking in that right side of the field.
Hopefully... Why I talk that thing na because of people wey go wan talk say na your jinx talk make am flop if he doesn't perform
