Roland17: While Awilo had a bad game, I was very disappointed by Odegaard's shocking reaction on the pitch, especially when you consider he is the captain of this team. I am not holding forth for his performance but the pitch was not the right place to throw your team mate under the bus. He easily could have waited for a break to have a teaching moment with the kid, not the silly tantrum he was throwing on the pitch against Awilo.
Awilo is a young player who needs tutelage and support to help as he develops and what Odegaard displayed on the pitch was very irresponsible in my opinion. He has successfully pitched the young kid against Arsenal fans and this may totally mar any confidence he has left...many, never recover from that. We have seen several games where Odegaard was poor and looked different, even before he became captain and no one, including hot head Xhaka gave him an earful.
Odegaard had a unique opportunity to exhibit true leadership qualities and he failed woefully in my opinion. Young players need support as they try to work through their mistakes, not what Odegaard displayed on the pitch today. I hope Awilo can use this experience to motivate himself and work on his game.
We shouldn't have gotten him in the first place but eating him out like that in public was bad. He needs join a team on loan that can offer him competitive playing time so he can build his confidence and mentality. I understand your point. I think it just summarises the fact that Lokonga doesn't have the trust of his teammates as others have. And one thing with football is that once there's no trust, then it means, there's no confidence which automatically brings about the reaction from Odegaard. While I'm not happy about what Odegaard did (since Sambi isn't the first to make mistake this season) but it just involuntarily tells us the kind of confidence these guys have when playing with Lokonga — low confidence. Though I still believe he shouldn't have done that openly If Partey makes such mistake (which he rarely does), I doubt he'll get such an earful. Maybe that's one of the main reasons Arteta is always going for a DM once Elneny goes on an injury |

If Brighton rejects it, then we'll move to other target. I just hope they act fast and it'll not be too late. Spy360: The bolded is the problem I have with you. Newcastle may not have spent much, but they have acquired players over the past two transfer windows who have helped the cause and most of them are on big wages.
Before you begin to turn amala, know that I have not ruled out the coach's effort which is highly commendable but saying it's solely based on that is cheap talk.
Dan Burn 13m Matt Target 15m Bruno Guimares 36m Alex Isak 63m Nick Pope 10m Chris Wood 25m Sven Botman 35m Keiran Trippier Free
It is rare for a mid table club to invest such amount and also to attract such calibre of players without paying them high. These guys were direct upgrade of their first team in addition to the likes of Willock, Saint-Maxim, Callum Wilson, Almiron etc.
So while it is clear the work Eddie Howe has done on the team, it will be cheap to say that a good transfer business did not contribute, which is the effect of Arab investment. This is the amala turning I certainly dey taya for your side. Just months ago, you said this which I and Oyindamola countered Spy360: They got a good coach and bought some quality players with heavy spending and salaries. However I don't believe that model will last beyond a couple of years. Emphasis on the words "heavy spendings. Two months down, you've shifted "Newcastle not paying high and talking about quality players" Note, we weren't debating about player's quality around November but Heavy spendings due to Arab money. As you've turned the Amala to quality and caliber players today, that's the template you'll now use In debating and attacking me months to come. Exactly how you did with Nketiah and Jesus!! I no wan go any further. I just wanted to show you how a great amala turner and debate shifting king you are. Happy weekend to you Sir! |

You've certainly not been understanding Arteta and his doings be that Arteta plan to remove him at halftime against Man city? Spy360: Which kind useless stats be this? First five matches kwa? Is that a sample?
Here's stats.
How many goals did Martinelli, Odegaard, Saka, and Xhaka score
A. With Gabriel Jesus B. With Nketiah
Martinelli. A....P14 G5 A0.36. B......P10 G2 A0.2
Saka A.....P14 G5 A0.36. B......P8 G4 A0.5
Odegaard A.....P13 G6 A0.5. B......P7 G2 A0.2
Xhaka A.....P14 G3 A0.2. B......P9 G1 A0.1
It's only Saka who plays when with Nketiah and has a very high scoring rate compared to when he plays with Jesus. Lol... So you're using stats B to prove our Midfield is not clinical when obviously most of Nketiah's game this season came from Europa teams and cups. Competitions where we fielded our B team shebi? No wonder you tagged it B How 'wise' it is.!! There's a big reason I used our first 5 league matches and that's because aside Nketiah for Jesus, all other players are constant(bar one or two changes) Keep on bringing Europa League and carabao cup where we play with 2nd string teams to push your point. Continuuu!! |

I just hope say before this year runs out Spy no go say he never claimed Martinelli wasn't a winger. You claimed that our other attackers are scoring more goals because of Jesus. Now our attackers are still scoring, you twisted it to Nketiah will score more goals than Jesus. You claimed that Balogun will walk into this team by December last year. Now you twist it that he'll score more goals by December. You were complaining about Jesus not scoring even when the team are playing and scoring well and when I told you that it's better for the goalscoring burden to be shared on all attackers than only one person which you vehemently opposed. Down the line, you now turn amala by saying you never complained about Jesus not scoring. I just dey envy your Amala turning |

Spy360: No.
How many goals have Martinelli, Xhaka, Saka scored after the WC compared to when Jesus was playing?
When Jesus was available, the goals were evenly spread (which includes Jesus offcourse). FFS even Xhaka was getting on the score sheets. I said the reason is because Jesus always drops deep to create overloads everywhere on the pitch, and always giving us a man advantage thereby freeing up others to make goal scoring runs. Everyone praised his energy.
I also said if another striker was involved who will not play/sacrifice himself but would focus more on scoring he would score more goals than Jesus.
To prove my analysis I predicted that Nketiah if given the chance would score more goals. It is happening now, I expect you to apologize and appreciate my tactical ingenuity. First 5 matches with Jesus (so I won't include Jesus nor defenders goals): Martinelli (crystal palace) Xhaka and Martinelli(Leicester) Odegaard (Bournemouth) Odegaard (Fulham) Martinelli ( Aston Villa) First 5 matches with Nketiah Saka and Martinelli (West Ham) Saka, Martinelli and Odegaard (Brighton) Nil (Newcastle) Odegaard (Tottenham) Saka (Man u) So looking at these stats, you can conveniently say that our attack stopped scoring goals because of Nketiah's presence shebi? Tuale for you sir!! |
