I am not going back to those. The validity of a theory is its predictability.

I made a prediction based on my analysis (before Jesus became injured) that any striker that does not drop deep will score more goals given the same set up of players. Nketiah proved me right.

Funny enough Nketiah is not even as good as G J.

You deliberately dodge this one because it's so evident. As clear as a scientific theory.
Lol.... I just hope you're not trying to twist it sha

This was our basis

Me: Arsenal creates chances as a team and all our attackers are expected to score as long as chances falls on any of them. That our attackers are scoring doesn't stop Jesus from scoring.
(I proved it with stats and pics)

Spy: Jesus sacrifices himself for the team that's why our attackers are scoring and he doesn't. He involves himself in buildup play which others capitalises on to score whereby he doesn't.

According to our argument, one can deduce the issue here is not about whether Nketiah would outscore Jesus or not (cos I believe he would as long as he converts his chances).

The big Koko is that: is our other attackers still scoring even with the presence of Nketiah just as I said they would?

Yes or no ?

Haba!!!
I have explained even before Jesus became injured why he doesn't get on the score sheet often.

I also correctly predicted that a striker like Nketiah if given the opportunity will score more goals.

I gave the reason as Jesus not staying in the box. I also brought up heat maps (which you denied in your post) to explain how Jesus gets over involved in buildup and hence doesn't have enough time and composure to be at the finishing end.

Note again, I correctly predicted that if Nketiah gets the chance he will score more goals because he will always be in the box.

You can't deny this.

Does that mean Nketiah is more productive than Jesus?
The only thing you brought up was that he loses composure. That's vague cos there's no way we can ascertain that he does loses composure when in front of goal due to him being involved in buildups.

As for heat maps, I remember you just beating around the bush.

From
*He doesn't stay in the box (I debunked that by showing you his heatmap in the box and he's the highest in EPL)

When you saw that, you jumped to

*He's always staying out of the box unlike other strikers (I debunked that by showing you other strikers and showing you their heatmaps are outside the box than inside only that Jesus was just more of a hardworker than them)

Then you jumped to

* Jesus heatmaps Infront of the box is more concentrated than inside the box compared to other strikers (This one just weak me. I mean, are we a cross and nod team or interplay team?,grin)

Now you're bringing another vague observation that Martinelli Is off form because of Jesus

Elneny got injured in training (his knee specifically) and may be out for the rest of the season.
Arsenal has rejected a bid from Monaco to sign Sambi on loan probably due to the injury.

Rammy revealed he injured his knuckle (right hand) during the world cup and has been playing with his middle and ring fingers taped together.

I just hope Arteta won't bank on Sambi to back Partey up in case Elneny is out for the rest of the season.

Analysis begins first by observation. You can only observe changes or patterns. Replacing Tomi for White was a change and it will affect the end result until there is adaptation. Which was what happened.

Mind you Odegaard too use to make runs into the box to score when GJ was available. Now his goals are from outside the box. That's adaptation. Nketiah is a different player fr Jesus, he will always enter the box to score unlike Jesus, so those services Jesus usually provides for others will definitely be lacking.

The good thing is that the team has adapted well. Martinelli will adapt because he is a good player but his goal returns is what we are noticing. Not just him but other players too. The only player that is scoring frequently now is Nketiah. Other are creating for him and he is scoring. The opposite happens when Jesus plays.
The only difference Nketiah is scoring more than others is because he's converting his chances(as he obviously gets more chances than our other attackers— just like Jesus)

I once explained here (with stats) how Jesus ought to be among the highest goalscorer in the league because of the high quality of chances he gets. He always underperforms his xG and has the highest big chances in the league before his injury but since he doesn't convert them, most people erroneously thought he doesn't receive them.

Now Nketiah converts more than him and you now think it's limiting others. Mind you Martinelli and Saka both scored against Westham and Brighton. While Odegaard scored in both Tottenham and Brighton too. Now Saka have scored against Man u again (all post world cup)

What does it means? It simply means Nketiah scoring doesn't stop others from scoring. Same thing I was always saying then that others scoring doesn't stop Jesus from scoring but obviously, he wasn't converting his chances like Nketiah. (I remember spamming here with pictures of almost all his big chances missed)

There's a reason you can't prove all your claims with stats or analytical explanations.

They mustn't play exactly the same way but the basic principles must be there. Like I said any team that plays from the back with their goalkeeper drew their inspiration from Pep. Anyone you draw inspiration from is your tutor. It's that simple. If I become a coach tomorrow and plays Pep's tactics I automatically become his student. That's my point. When you look at the managers mentioned, they all play similar tactics, hence the reference to Pep. Apart from that you need to look at videos of their dressing room talks, also very similar how they shout and motivate their players.
Lol... In that case then Pep is the Tutor to every coach in the league. Including klopp too grin

Or haven't you noticed almost all EPL teams now pass from the back?

Exactly. And everyone will still get chances to play if you are good.

Reason I believe there should be no fear in getting another equally good "Partey" or a better one. Partey doesn't need to play all 90mins and all the matches if we have another good Partey. Just the way Nketiah was still getting minutes when Jesus was fit. We should have a bench that is equally as good as the 11 on the field, it will brings out the best in the players too.

Martinelli will not need to wait for Jesus to resume before improving seeing what Trossard gave the few mins he was on. Arteta doesn't need long sermon to White to come out of whatever got him distracted during the last match. The message will be simple: "improve quickly or your minutes on the bench will increase".

Yes we also need another Saka. Saka needs time off too, and we don't need to keep him on the bench even when he is having quarterly or bi yearly or annual period, not totally benching him, just reduce his time on the pitch, till he regains himself.

The point is, the best fit and in-form 11 should spend more time during the runs of a particular game, the team winning should come first, follow by player management.

I like our new direction.

By the way, in case some are still in doubt, our last 4 league games has come against the teams occupying 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in the table with 3 wins 1 draw... This is indeed a new Arsenal.
To get kind of Partey quality or thereabout is kinda hard cos that position of quality Is really complex.

But then, the bolded.... Is that really possible. Is it possible to have a successful team FIRST, then player management after? Will it last long term?? Hmmmm...

And your last paragraph... It's just now I'm noticing it. I mean we just dropped 2 points playing the 3rd-5th best teams in the league and we won all convincingly bar Newcastle where we did everything right apart from goal. This team is really doing excellently great Tbh

Time to play the 2nd best team... But this time In Fa cup

By analytics it is simple to decipher unless you want to argue.

I asked, is it a coincidence that Martinelli's drop in form happened same time as GJ injury?

There was a little change in pattern when GJ joined the team because of his style of dropping deep. If that is no longer the case due to his absence how is it impossible that it has not affected the performance of some of the players?

Remember when I said GJ sacrifices his drive for goals for other players, and you said it's a lie. Now let me ask you, how many times has Xhaka scored since GJ's injury?

How is it that we all accepted that GJ brought the best out of the other players and then say his absence does not affect their overall style of play. Or am I too far ahead in analysing?
Of course it's a coincidence. I remember beginning of this season when Ben White started playing right back and the right wing wasn't effective compared to the left. Most of our postulations here was that Saka and Odegaard understand Tomi and that Ben White Is limiting them. While for the left wing, Martinelli have Zinchenko and Xhaka who have close understanding with each other.

Now the right side is excelling and all postulations have gone quiet

If Zinchenko had gone to injury instead of Jesus and Martinelli still had this poor form, you'll still say that it's Zinchenko absence that's affecting him.

I wonder how it's Jesus that's making Martinelli to spark. At least prove it, don't just bring Vague explanations that Jesus absence is the cause— whether with stats, analytical explanations or sort, like say Martinelli Is above losing form.

And Moreover, there's nothing wrong with Xhaka as he's still playing his game that he's always playing. Thank goodness Odegaard is still scoring and playing well If not he would have been another victim of Jesus absence postulated by yours truly... Spy!!

Arteta is a product of both Wenger and Pep. Arteta already got his badges before joining Pep at City. Arsenal actually approached him but he declined saying he wasn't ready. There are things he learnt from Wenger as well. But obviously we know based on his style he is drifting more towards Pep.

Let me shock you a little more. You do not have to play or work under somebody to be his student. If you adopt a coach's principles that you are his prodigy. Pep himself is reminiscent of Johan Cruyff but never played to coached under him.

Many managers today claim to follow the principles of Marcelo Bielsa, Ralf Rangnik, Arigo Sacchi etc without playing or coaching under them. Someone like ETH adopts the Dutch tactics of Ajax developed by Rinus Michels, same of which Cruff learnt because he played there. That's life and that's football.
While I get your point but I want to ask.... Have you watched Barca play? Or is it just Xavi and Barca being first that's making you draw this conclusion.

Is there anything thing that's reminiscent of Xavi Barca play from last season to presently compared to Pep's play? I don't see close similarities Tbh

Did you think it's because of scoring goals guys are presently concerned about Martinelli? For your info, guys still complained about him even when he scored against Westham and Brighton

Man can't even beat his defender as he's normally doing earlier this season and most of his decision is wrong and your solution is that it's because of Jesus' absence? grin

Arteta is not like Wenger. If your bad form prolongs too much, he'll bench you just as he did Lacazette for Nketiah.

I remember correctly begining of this season when Saka wasn't really explosive even when we're playing beautifully. Guys here were blaming Saka and some was even suggesting he should be benched. I remembered saying that Saka will come good as he's good now that, that's how he started slowly last season before he exploded. Now we're all enjoying the benefits as Saka have finally found his game again. Same thing with Odegaard

Now, it's Martinelli's turn of being off form and we're out again with "he should be benched for Trossard"?

Sometimes we forget that this guys are young boys and that they can have some off form for days (even ranging to weeks) which is perculiar to young players. It's up to the coach to work back on them and help them regain their confidence while playing them and not just benching them. Only when it's been prolonged can one think of even benching them

Martinelli is young. He's one of the people that made arsenal in this position they are now. He's just going through a phase as every youngster does (sometimes making wrong decisions and all as he's doing presently). It's up to the coach to ensure he doesn't remain in that phase not just giving up on him because we have Trossard. This is human beings we're dealing with here not FIFA or PS4 game that we'll just bench a player and put another one because of some off form.

Abeg o, Make we remember say na Martinelli we dey talk about here. This is Someone that is very very talented and we all know he got it.

It's not a coincidence that his loss of form happened after Jesus's injury.

Many of us are making the mistake of comparing Martinelli with Saka or even with Trossard as some of us have already started doing.

Martinelli is not your typical winger-chance creator. He is purely a goal scorer. He is similar to Aubameyang playing on the LW. Just as Auba needed a Lacazette to create space and chances for him, Martinelli needs GJ. And boy what a friend he has in Jesus.

Nketiah is not going to do that for anyone. He is a poacher himself and always has eyes for goals. Martinelli will struggle to play with Nketiah, while Nketiah will love to play with Trossard and Saka besides him and with Xhaka and Odegaard behind him.

I believe Martinelli's future is in the middle or in a front two.
You don start with this your postulations and theories again 😒

The way you're saying it, someone will think Martinelli just exploded this season. Was Jesus here last season when Martinelli played beautifully?
Was Jesus here previous seasons when guys were hoping on Martinelli to come back from injury since he's one of our best wingers?

Suddenly "Jesus of this season" Is the one making Martinelli to shine. Suddenly Martinelli is just like Auba angry

Suddenly, Nketiah will love to play with Trossard and not Martinelli. Same Martinelli that shone with Nketiah at the back end of last season.

Please, with all due respect, did you actually proof read what you wrote before pressing submit?? undecided

But this thing is simple.

Only Arteta was an apprentice (assistant) to Pep amongst the three. It was under Pep he had the opportunity to learn player management, tactical analysis, one on one with players and all that. That's something Kompany and Xavi didn't experience. Moreover, Kompany and Xavi played under different coaches before and after Pep. Why then is it Pep that they're lumping all of them to?

Why not Wenger for Arteta?

I like this new Arsenal! We’ve learnt to count our losses and move on to other players that will bring immediate results . We’ve moved past the era when We will watch players like Bendtner , Aaron Ramsey, etc struggle for most of the season and when they have one or two bright moments we just use that to console ourselves till they go back to their normal selves .

I like the competitiveness Arteta’s time at Arsenal has brought us . Back in the days we will still be trusting the process of players like Pepe, Pablo Mari of turning out good ; nowadays nobody’s got time for that. cool
Yeah, I think that's arsenal and the board's plan— to buy players who can actually compete with the first 11 and not just being 2nd choice. Anyone who isn't up to standard will be shipped off.

That's the competitiveness that's making us great and I'm really glad we're getting all these kinda players young and without actually breaking the banks
