What your eyes can see is subjective.

Tell us why GJ suddenly became unclinical despite maintaining his workrate and performance levels.
I won't answer this question unless you answer mine that I've first asked you since ystdy. I've been answering your questions even when you've been skipping mine since ystdy and today

1... Is Jesus goal drought due to not seeing big chances like Lacazette in the box or due to being clinical

2... Show me the EPL strikers heatmap let's compare to Jesus (hint: use the speed of light as 9.812 in which you brought Halaand and Jesus heatmap grin)

Spy360:
If you can't see the faint color difference then I can't help. At this point it is subjective.

What's funny is that you have not even explained why GJ has not been clinical which is what I have been trying to do and most people here agree to it.

But fact is if Jesus does not change, he will suffer plenty goal drought.
Nothing is subjective here. Anyone who compares those two heatmaps knows that Jesus is more active in the box than Nketiah has been but you must still turn Amala.

One thing I noticed about this G Jesus issue is that when he was doing all those his workrate this season and everyone was happy, I knew once a bad patch comes you guys will immediately start equating him to Laca (already preconceived notion) such as: he doesn't stay in the box, he's never getting at the end of chances as a striker, he's just working for only Martinelli and Saka etc, reason why I wanted to debunk it as soon as possible.

You guys don't want to even reason that he might be going through a purple patch— something which is normal for strikers— and once he gets his clinicality right, he'll come good just the way he was beginning of this season and preseason.

I knew it'll come to this but I never knew it'll be so soon

You've not understood the point. He does get into the box but only after when he has exerted himself in the build up. By doing so he usually does not maintain enough composure to score with the right mix of precision and power.

But if he can reduce his involvement in he build up, allow others to create for him, then he can muster enough time and composure to pick his goal.
So you've agreed he now gets into the box after unfairly criticizing him that he doesn't get into the "Fvcking box" shey?

All these things you're saying, was it not what I was saying since ystdy that he just needs to be clinical since he sees the chance but you just dey para say Xhaka, Martinelli and Saka dey take him spot and his shine in the 18yard box. You even bring Nketiah join sef. Thank goodness for heatmap.

I still dey wait for the other strikers aside Haaland wey most of their opposition touches are in the 18yard box compared to G Jesus. I just hope you provide them for me

Good. There are red markers showing areas of higher concentration. Now if you look clearly you will notice that the red markers are more inside the box evident that he spends more time there than outside it.

The only other place where we have little red markers are when he is defending.
Boss, there is no red marker biko. That is thick yellow marker which just means average touches concentration(He doesn't even have dark brown sef which is the closest to the highest concentration(red marker)). It's surprising your Nketiah doesn't have red marker in the box yet you used him to brag while G Jesus whom you claim doesn't have touches in the box have red marker full everywhere.

This is G.Jesus heat map while the 2nd is Nketiah heatmap again(for Europa since that's where he completes 90min for fair comparison).
Nketiah heatmap even show he spends more time in the midfield and left wings with more ball touches compared to the opposition box yet na Gabriel Jesus Una dey crucify grin

Between the two we can see who spends more time in the box more

NB: I'm still waiting for your other pl strikers' heatmap. Let's compare their heatmap in the opposition box to that of Gabriel Jesus

I just hope we make use of our 2nd 11 and scrape out a least a draw. One thing with winning is that once one is winning, the confidence is very very high but it just takes a couple of losses or draw to make doubts creep in. Nottingham forest will be in good spirit after their win against Liverpool and any dropped points by us will certainly make doubts creep in within the squad.

We need to win to get our confidence and mojo back. I just hope the players are revved up. Also, if the 2nd team scrap a draw tomorrow, then we can actually get our players ready for Chelsea game next weekend.

Jode.ra is right.
Jesus is spending too much time in the AM position and left wing and peripheral places which is affecting his composure to score (problem laca had compounded by aging) and it's partly caused by the set-up (becos only the right side is making inroads with tomiyasu on the left).
Odegard is shying away from the AM spot because it involves lot of intelligent work and tackles too. So he comes out while saka makes more inroad.
Transit xhaka has taken advantage of odegard absence there by arriving there to finish chances.
Jesus should stay in the box (like against Brentford) and let odegard and xhaka handle the situation outside the box.
Arteta should allow Teneiry to play so that Martinelli can have space to run into the box via diversion same way white does for saka.
Odegard should learn to shot so that Jesus who is in the box can also pounce should there be a rebound.
Tomiyasu should only start when the opposition is stronger (more attacking than us ).
Eg liverpool, man city, newcastle and maybe manu or any other team that show it and he should play at right back.
Tienery can be instructed to play deep and only run when clear during these kind of matches.
I expect second string team for the europa, we only need a draw
Lol.. abeg oo.

This is the first time I'm hearing players losing composure because of missed chances just because he presses and run around.

I've never read it when Sanchez was here neither I've I heard about it during Martinelli after all both of them players exactly like Jesus.

What you said here is also very very valid.

I thought we should even be happy that we have different goalscorers and that if Jesus can just improve on his finishing (the only thing I feel is missing recently from his game since the chances are being created for him on a steady), we'll become an even more unpredictable and difficult team to handle. I mean, isn't that a hallmark of a top and dominant team, where goals can come from anywhere and any angle?

But then, I see what we want is the one only where our striker will be scoring goals only. Let us be a one-man team I guess.

It's alright!!

No be everything be argument
Spy is right on this one, like the commentator said on Sunday xhaka and odegaard are our real attackers other like saka Jesus and martinelli are inverted
Jesus spend most times with martinelli exchanging passes and hugging the touchline
Some many times white or our fullbacks will have the ball but no one in the 18, xhaka is the one making most runs that's why he's scoring recently because he's occupying Jesus's position
Lol... Because Xhaka have scored in back 2 back games now, it now means he's occupying Jesus position? grin

Anytime we attack, 98 percent of the times, Jesus is always in the box. Just because we push more bodies inside the 18yard box (in Jesus, Xhaka, Odegaard, Martinelli and Saka) and anyone can score from there doesn't mean Jesus isn't in the box.

I mean

Jesus have the most shots in the team both per game and in total
Have the big chance missed
Have the most passes received in the box

But somehow, you guys believes he's always absent in the box because of a "preconceived notion" that he's always building up play.

You played the way you are talking that's why I didn't watch you on TV. tongue

Martinelli and Saka are wingers and even if they don't score for 5games no one will bother. We are worried about GJ because he is a striker. A striker that has equal amount of touches all accross the front line- and that's for the whole season o, not just a match. His lack of goals is that he is Jack of all trades. If he doesn't reduce his involvement in deep areas, he will continue to miss chances as he will struggle to maintain goal scoring composure.

I was a goal scorer when I played, and it's been the secret. Ask any good goal scorer they will tell you.
I want to ask you a question.

Is his lack of goals caused by him not getting at the end of chances(i.e not receiving goalscoring chances) or because he's not converting them?

Which one?

Na so we argue Lacazette Vs Nketiah here until Arteta dropped him at the slightest opportunity. Remember you said Lacazette was bringing more to the attack, dropping deep and all those sh*t. I said if he keeps on doing that he will fail to score and will be dropped. It happened as I said and you bent the knee.

GJ is doing exactly what Lacazette was doing. If after a few more games and he doesn't score- meaning the team scores less goals, Nketiah will bench him. Nketiah is a fox in the box, he does not make that mistake of not being seen there.
Lol... Should we bet on this one again?

It's ridiculous to even think that GJ is doing exactly what Laca was doing. I for one never defended Laca for not getting into the box cos I know he doesn't get to the box.

How you'll see GJ and Laca and you say GJ is playing exactly like Laca is highly ridiculous

Take your time, watch some of those misses, watch where he is coming from. Usually he is making a run from deep. That's what midfielders do not a striker. He needs to position himself in the box. If he keeps playing too deep all the time, he will end up like Lacazette and Nketiah will bench him.
Lol, I knew you were getting here sha.

Don't you know that for a striker to score someone has to be provider or creator?

If Jesus becomes the creator then it means that others will benefit in his stead.

For example, if GJ drops into the AM position it gives Xhaka the freedom to make a run and take up goal scoring positions. While this can be tactically advantageous, it shouldn't happen all the time because he deprives GJ the opportunity to take up such positions himself. Take your time and watch how Haaland plays. He allows others do the suffering while he focuses on positioning himself for goals.

If GJ after dropping deep and creates an opportunity, then himself tries to make a run even if he gets the ball, he will not have the best composure to finish with the right power and accuracy.

I keep repeating myself. If you understand but you not believe it's different from when you don't understand. Because I don't know the area you fall.
Lol... The thing is that when you've made up your mind on something, even if the evidence Is glaring to your face, you no go still gree.

You make it seem like he's the only one creating and doing buildups, but In reality he isn't. Martinelli is playing like him, yet he converts his chances. In fact, the only big chance I've seen Martinelli miss this season was against crystal palace.

Xhaka, Martinelli and Saka all do build-ups but they never miss big chances the way Jesus do this season. I dunno how you're all piling it on the other works Jesus is doing. If he's even seeing these chances deep in 2nd half of the game, I would have understood. But first half? Come on na! We all played ball

Spy360:
To be clinical means to shoot at goal with the right combination of accuracy and power. To that this one has to have the right composure and position. For a player that is running up and down and dropping too deep, by the time he gets the ball he lacks the right composure.

You need to see most of GJ misses especially on Sunday. There are some that he only needed to either wait for a second or took more than a second to strike. That's composure and you lose that when you're trying as a striker to get involved in chance creation all the time.
His misses on Sunday is not the only one he's missed. On some occasions he's missed in the first half even when game is 20min(Leeds big chance missed a recent example)

We're talking as if this isn't Jesus style of play and he's forced to do all these buildup. No, fyi, that's his style of play and that's the kind of striker Arteta Is looking for. Telling him to stop doing all those things and wait in the box is exactly the same thing that made him ran away from Man city. Same thing that he claimed he wasn't enjoying his ball at Man city

Look at most of his big misses(from Leicester to Bournemouth to Brentford to Leeds to Southampton), you'll find out he doesn't places it at the far corner of the post instead it's always at the central of the keeper. This is not due to tiredness (cos most misses are even in the first half) but this is just him lacking that finishing touch and finesse someone like Martinelli have. Martinelli works as much as he does too, why doesn't composure affect him too?

I just hope our attacking coach will look into finishing/shooting and start working on it cos we need him to start scoring like the others

Ps: You'll need to apologize to me for saying Gabriel Jesus doesn't "Fvcking" stay in the box undecided
