It seems Ronaldo refused to come on as a sub. Then he stormed off as the game neared its end.

Your guy don fall your hand. He was even asked to come on and refused to.
Lol, Ronaldo don Fvck up be that.

But abeggo, Ronaldo no be my guy, me na Messi na grin

If he can't sit he should stand with the coach in touch line instead of walking away. You and i know Messi or Mane can never do such.
Walking out from the stadium is totally wrong, I'm totally against that. What I'm saying is that what happened yesterday is hurtful enough to make a player of his standard throw tantrums unlike other player that will just normally take a seat as If nothing happened

And you think the manager purposely don't want to feature him in order to spite him. It's his duty to handle the situation by going back to the bench to sit and not to cause drama as a senior player he is, it is not the duty of the manager to baby sit him by explaining himself. The reality is that he is egocentric and self centred.
it's hard for most big players wey no dey cause issues for that kinda stuff. From Mane to Messi (two people you like most).
The only issue I feel is very very very wrong Is him walking out from the stadium but to say he should go sit down as if it doesn't hurt is not true. Call it ego centric or self-centred, na you sabi.

God bless u my brother. We are human. We are not perfect The way A will react to some certain issue go different from B. Ronaldo that I have know since Manchester United have anger issue. That is nature. When is in pain, He show it out immediately. Look at his behaviour against Everton.
No top player that always love to play and have that kinda achievements and ego that thing no go pain. Lai lai. Even Messi sef wey people talk say e dey calm, e go pain am well well too.

Tho, it was very very very wrong of him to walk out of the stadium. He would have sulked, complained, etc aside walking out from the bench or teammates

It's even funny when he can't take a little ego bruise. What he did yesterday was another layer of brick in his mansion of disrespect towards the coach, his teammates, the fans, the club at large.
What he did in the preseason is the highest form of disrespect any player can give his club so at least he saw how it felt ystdy.

He should just do and find club in January cos this marriage is not benefitting anybody

This is just shalaye. What we did was wrong and there is no defending it. A manager can tell you to warm up and based on the flow of the game can change his mind.
He disrespected the manager, his teammates, the fans, and the club. No mitigating circumstances. If your ego is that big then your self-control should be equally huge.
What he did— walking out of the stadium — is totally wrong. Yeah, I agree on that but I'm just saying he felt disrespected and someone with such ego will throw fits. It's normal though he went overboard

It’s also wise to know your current limits and your role in the team.

Ronaldo at 28 will be a massive addition to any team. No coach would ever drop him. But CR7 at 38 is a different ball game.

That ego is unrealistic.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about Ronaldo of 28 or 30. I'm talking about his ego and pride here.

There's so much one can take. Even we as Men, there's so much we can take when it involves our ego. What we might do to react might be wrong but that doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt. That it hurt Ronaldo doesn't mean that same thing will hurt someone like Malacia or Shaw.

That's just my point

How did you form this narrative? Lol

Asking you to warm up, it's not a guarantee you are going to play. Some coaches do ask all the players on the bench to warm up just to be ready for action.
This is okay for players without ego and haven't achieved much but not for players who have both.

This is like telling Ibra to warm up then you don't use him. I wonder how he took will react. Ronaldo didn't react against Man city, he didn't react when he was benched this season without even seeing a minute. This particular one is enough to hurt anyone's ego and pride in Ronaldo's shoes even our Messi

He played 90 minutes on Thursday. Played 70 minutes 3 days later. We've got a match away go Chelsea in 3 days also. Meanwhile I doubt Elanga has featured in any of these matches. What's the wrong thing in giving the final minutes to the youngster.

I'm sure Ten Hag even wanted to bring Ronaldo on before we went two goals up. But the goals came in, there was no need. We've got an important match in 3 days.

Ronaldo is a narcissist c*nt that doesn't give a fvck about the club, fans or his teammates. Imagine getting pissed and boiling while your teammates are playing well and actually getting the 3 points for your team.

This man left the stadium before the end of the match in our final preseason game and he was all over the news for days. There's no way he didn't know the effect of what he did last night as this was much moooooore serious. But he doesn't even care. It's all about him.
My problem is not even about him being benched or subbing in Elanga. My issue is telling him to warm up just so he'll play then tell him to go sit down while putting another player.

This is someone who loves to play no matter what and have already made that peace that he won't start every match. Now, tempting him with warmup that he'll play only not to play is a big dent in such a person's ego esp in this scenario. It would have been better if he wasn't told at all or if he was told to warm up and Tottenham put in one goal which now forces Ten Haag decision to put in a defender to protect the lead.

Normal players won't see anything big in that but ego players with achievements like Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic et al will always always throw a fit if such happens.

Sometimes, there are different ways to go about different people

you understand his reason for leaving the pitch during a game? Lol

We have 2 subs left so what anger are you justifying?
It might be overboard and what he did was wrong no doubt but that doesn't mean I didn't understand his reason nor will I act same way If I'm in his shoes.

A very top world class player like Ronaldo is who has ego is told to warm up then after warming up he's not being substituted In. Then why was he told to warm up? If it's Elanga or sort being told all these things, I understand but someone like Ronaldo? Come on!

I know there's this cliche that "all players should be treated equal" but we know it's not ideal. It's disrespectful to do that to Ronaldo or someone like Ronaldo.

I yeah, I saw you said there's still 2 subs remaining? So when are they expecting to use the 2 subs, 1min or so to full time?

Like a whole Ronaldo will play 1 min or so like say him dey look for debut? No make me laugh abeg grin

The only reason why I'm not even too into Ronaldo's side was because he disrespected Ten Haag and Man u during the preseason.

I like ETH tbh, he's a no nonsense man. He doesn't pander to emotions or sentiments. You play well, you earn your spot whoever you may be.

Concerning respect, he owes Ronaldo non of that seeing how Ronaldo first disrespected him by failing to turn up for preseason without any reasonable explanation. He shouldn't be crying now when he started the disrespect. Also the members of the squad have been showing support to Ronaldo both on the pitch and off it but when he's benched and the team plays well, he disrespects the team by walking out on them.

More importantly the team is clearly better without Ronaldo currently than with him starting and this is not a disrespect to his abilities, it's just the truth. ETH's job is to the squad as a whole and not to any individual. No player passed or present is bigger than the club.

We're still waiting for the tell all interview he promised since 2 months ago about what really happened in preseason.
Actually, I watched that match ystdy and I saw how Ronaldo was being told to jog so that he'll be prepared to come into the game only to be told he isn't going to be played and Elanga was instead favored. Well, Tbh it's ego-killing and knowing how big ego Ronaldo have I understand his point of venting it out in that way. I mean his a big player and he needs to be respected as such cos his career achievements made him earned it.

But then seeing the bolded made me realize that in fact Ten Haag doesn't owe him anything and he's in the right to act that way

Spy360:
The point I raised there was the missed penalty not the foul itself because the foul was not deliberate.
The bolded was the issue I had and countered which was what you raised
Spy360:
How na? You need to explain in details. I have told you the usual mantra coaches tell their defenders whenever they find themselves in such situations.

I have explained that a penalty call is better than a shot on open goal. This is because there is further room for that penalty to be missed. We saw an example against Leeds, if Saliba had not handled (though it was a mistake) Bamford would have had a clear shot on goal. The ensuring penalty was missed. That's why we won that game- knowing that we had already lost momentum and conceding again would have been very possible.

Like I said, the only risk is to get red carded but if the foul is a technical foul (just as on Sunday), then no red card would be issued.

I am still waiting for your elaborate explanation.
The bolded you said was why I said you were justifying PKs cos there's no need to say Marc Roca would have had a clear goalscoring opportunity if the ball hadn't hit Saliba hands cos even if it didn't, Saliba would have cleared it cos he still had it under control. The handball itself was a disadvantage to us and never any advantage and we were lucky that Bamford missed the resulting PK.

This is simple cos that was what I was countering since and even Mo.stob joined me in disagreeing with the bolded.

It was clear you didn't watch the highlight judging from your earlier narrative.

Now you are looking for who else didn't watch with you?

It is also obvious that you have not been reading my post. grin

Watch highlight and read post.

I have been saying it that Saliba's case is not even a good example of my point because it wasn't deliberate and he looked in control before the mistaken handball. What else do you interpret as missed control when his intentions were not achieved? You're good in written English so I don't know where your misunderstanding is coming from than that you just want to dodge being schooled. I don't take such pleasure if that's your problem.

I can't be repeating my self. Guy read post well.
Lol .. it seems you missed our genesis of this our talk. I called you out wanting to hear your opinion on whether Saliba was right not to engage Bamford when he made a mistake and Bamford ran free through on goal. And you answered the question satisfactorily but then started bringing example of how the penalty we conceded was a good decision and that Marc Roca was free etc

I don't understand why you said Saliba case is not a good example cos it was you who brought that up and that was what I was countering in you justifying that the penalty we conceded was not a bad idea. Simple!!

I've always been defending Bruno here for months but I'll say again, he's been very poor for a while and needs to rest. He makes so many bad decisions, some even go unnoticed.

For example you look at this smart run Sancho made here and guess what Bruno did?
He gave it to Ronaldo on the left. Ignoring an unmarked Sancho in free space up front.

Look at Antony at the right also...

Do you know how many times we get to this phase of play and always end up doing the wrong thing?
Hmmm... While I admit this one is a very good chance missed but I've seen on many occasions this season that Bruno have executed a big chance like this. This weekend pass to Rashford in which he rounded the GK is one and of course the pass to Rashford against us. On many occasions I've seen him tried this kind of ball but sometimes it wasn't executed well.

Tbf, Bruno might have his fault but I feel his own isn't great compared to the wingers who needs to do more. I watch you guys' matches(mostly cos of my sis who's a man u fan, just to troll her tho) and from what I mostly see, Sancho and Antony hardly strike fear to defenders. There's a way wingers will cause chaos and they'll be space for Am to do it's thing. Sancho and Antony to me hardly does that

It's funny how you skew things to your favour and even bring graphics to gather sympathy.

First, you are all wrong with all your assertions. If you want to be certain, watch that highlights with a neutral person and ask for views. You obviously did not watch the motion picture before bringing up still photography to describe live actions. Abeg go and watch the highlight. That's your assignment now.

1. The ball landed right in the middle of that box, it was a drop ball and not a diagonal pass.

2. Marc Roca (red marker) is the no 8 and not the black player you assumed. Roca is in the middle with Saliba where the ball dropped. He was the target.

3. The black player (green marker)is Sinisterra no23, he was not the target but was going for a possible rebound.

Saliba was in a good position to clear the ball so no need to commit a foul. However, he missed control of the ball that would have handed a clear scoring opportunity to Roca before he handled. Please note, he did not go handle deliberately but it happened.

Now listen, that penalty is not something to desire, but right now as I am typing, I will gladly accept that a penalty was given than for Roca to take a shot at Ramsdale. Results? No shot was taken, penalty missed, we won. Case closed.
Lol, So Roca was even the person Saliba have already handled sef? That Roca that Saliba had already dealt with is whom you're claiming had an open goal opportunity?

Tbh, anyone who watched that highlight will know that Saliba intended to guard that ball and Roca so that the either he clears it with his leg or wait for the onrushing Ramsdale to catch the ball but unfortunately it fell to his hands. Na only you see missed control sha.

Since you said the both penalties we conceded this season is a good decision, no problem, I leave you to your opinion.

Time have a way of always answering all these things— either sooner or later. Cheers!!

Thus una argument sef...
I remember Luiz that time. He would commit a foul as the last defender and still collect red card. The team will be a goal down and at the same time, a player down.
Conceding a penalty deliberately is a wrong decision for me cos the team might be losing in two ways.
That's exactly what people hated Luiz then for.
Even Xhaka sef that most people once hated because of his penchant of giving away PKs and collecting red cards(due to needless fouls— "if you miss ball, don't miss the leg".).
