Pepe is not a bad player, I can tell you for free. His problem is his inability to play with the rest of the team, apart from the fact that Saka was on top form.

Pepe is the type that needs to be in the box not outside and it's the reason why he plays better with Cedric because Cedric overlaps fully taking the winger position and allows Pepe to drift inwards. Without this, he is basically useless as he cannot play with others especially the midfield. He cannot make runs and he hold the ball up.

In another team with flying fullbacks and a coach that takes away defensive responsibility from him, he will thrive as he is a good goalscorer.
