donstan18: Kane>> Van Persie
Yea? Did Kane win league? Check all the inductees and see if anyone doesn't have any goals in them and is a league winner. The day Kane will win EPL, he'll be ranked above Van Persie That's a fact!! |

hensben: Just say you don’t know the meaning of clutch and impact. You think it’s by stat padding against watford and Norwich but when e rich final ghost mode will be activated. So you think scoring winning goals against arsenal, Chelsea, man city, man u, Leicester and other big teams is called stat padding abi?? Una just too like suffer head for this life. If a player for example scores hat trick against Madrid team in a 3-0 match, he'll be called a stat Padder, but if another player scores a winning goal in a 2-1 win against Madrid, he called an impact or clutch player |

timbros: Drogba is called Mr. Wembley for a reason.
Club football played in Wembley are semi finals and finals of Cup competitions. Drogba turns up in such matches, scoring 10 or more of such goals (not sure the actual numbers of goals off hand but around 10). Those are big moments that defines big players.
I am trying as much as possible not to take sides in this comparison. But the fan in me won't allow Drogba to be dragged here If I tell you now many goals he had in fa cups and Carlin cup, you can't tell. No body rate EPL great with Carling cup and fa cup. It's the league that's the koko. It's a reason why with all his Mr Wembley title, him still dey probation list while lampard a better scorer is already inducted and shearer is inducted without EPL officials thinking twice |

hensben: Your mind nor judge you as you Dey bias for this comment. Btw, who is the penalty taker for liverpool? Drogba wasn’t a penalty taker for Chelsea, he has attacking midfielder that score like him all season and the team wasn’t built around him, he most time hustle for his goals. Wetin concern who be pk taker or not? So you know the team is not built around him(one of the attributes great players have) yet you're comparing him with stars like Henry and Salah that teams are built around abi? You go give yourself backhand slap you no go know |

donstan18: Trophies, career goals and assists, clutch performances, individual honors.
Drogba bodied Salah.
This is a fact. We talked about EPL best player amongst the two. There's a reason dem still dey reason drogba for hall of fame while him mate lampard is already included. The main criteria for ranking EPL great is EPL matches, not champions league or fa cup or what not. Reason why Alan Shearer is inducted without any 2nd thought while drogba still dey probation list. So stay in track with the context |

donstan18: So you’re agreeing that Salah>> Drogba?
You mean Ronaldo had Epl impact more than Drogba? Someone that had only one hatrick during his peak with ManU? Salah is better than drogba in EPL. That's facts. In just 169 games, he has 107 goals 41 assist Drogba 254 games, 103 goals, 55 assist. From their ratio you should know who is better. Drogba won league wen Chelsea haven't won it, same can be accorded to salah Drogba won cl league wen Chelsea needed it most, same can be accorded to salah So I don't know the clutch or impact you and hensben want to brandish around here when even salah is more impactful than drogba Another thing be say Henry pass drogba for England. |

Branzy: You guys had option of getting him back but you were okay with ozil To be honest, I fully support Roland in this. He is a big Snake. Not saying we needed him back cos we have ozil and he went to Chelsea. No! I'll never fault any player going to Chelsea or any rival club, as long it's not directly from arsenal to the rival club(after all it's their money and playing time they're fighting for) But, This is someone who joined in Chelsea's celebration in Europa against the club that raised him. He took snapshot, held the trophy to the full glare of the world and drank wine showing he was happy Chelsea won arsenal. If that's not snake, I don't know what that is. This is someone who says he loved his time at Chelsea more than arsenal cos he won trophies there. Ahh!! If that's not a snake, tell me what it is? Contrast that to cazorla when arsenal wanted to play Villarreal. He said he loved the two clubs with his heart and his shared fond memories on both and that he doesn't know who he'll support. When arsenal lost, he passed consolation message to arsenal and went congratulated Villarreal. That's someone who has respect for his former club. I once loved fabregas but since when he was showing he was more of Chelsea and less of arsenal, my love for him dwindled drastically. I still respect him as a player tho. |

Kbs468: You don't have to apologize for anything as if I were in your shoes, I would think same going by my choice and use of words actually.
I think the words of the legendary IAN WRIGHT is already working for both of them-Saka and ESR as the future of Arsenal albeit the Three Lions today and tomorrow As for the first paragraph, it's no ish at all, we good. As for the bolded, I believe they're the future with the kind of talent and attitude they have. I just hope that they're not being pressured unnecessarily and just be allowed to grow the way Arteta is using them |

Kbs468: No I didn't mean to be sarcastic about my point since ESR can't just come and be benching the likes of Rashford and Jack grealish.
If not for the injury to 4 others in the England squad, I bet Southgate has already said he wouldn't be inviting ESR for now
Just like someone mentioned, where is AMN in the English Three Lions today after being capped sparingly
But not withstanding you have stressed the fact that a permanent and consistent performance for ARSENAL week in week out would no doubt see him through to the next world cup irrespective of the performance of the others competing for the same spot with him Okay.. I apologize, I really thought you were sarcastic. As for the bolded, that's a fact. Arsenal is one of the big clubs in England which is a leverage. Moreover, no coach will overlook a player who puts in the shift as well as high workrate in addition by popping goals and assist from midfield. That's 3 characteristics a coach wants from any player. When 2022 comes around, if ESR continuous this his imperious form, there'll be at least 2 players that will be dropped for him |

Kbs468: You are equally right after all, ESR is only 21
No need rushing them since there are already some of his age mates from other clubs in the squad too while not forgetting his teammate in Bukayo Saka Lol... I believe this is a sarcastic response. Saka have been a first teamer right from Emery's season and entering into Arteta own still giving exceptional performances. While last season is ESR breakout season for club, this season is the one to bring out consistent performances to get into England squad, for now, he is giving 3 months (2months +) from Sept-november. Like I said, he should be watched if he still gives this great performances, there's no how he won't be called in that world cup squad |

Spy360: White was in the Euro squad though hasn't been called up since after that. I personally rate him higher than Mings especially for the past three months as you mentioned. I rate him higher than Mings, but like I said 3 months is too short to cap a player. Actually, my thought is, if you wanna cap a player, it should be on a long term plan for team stability and not just capping player cos he needs to be capped. See our Niles now, him no dey see England squad again, so why was he capped at first? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 2:58pm On Nov 09, 2021 |
BlueRayDick: This is the reason England has hundreds of capped players everywhere with absolutely no major trophy to show for it. They just keep capping every player that enjoys short run of good performances every year. Make dem allow those ones wey go euro blend for a long term fess.....Na why teams like France wey lose euro final fit go win world cup two years after. Na you get my point pass. No stability in the team, each Intl break will showcase different new players, why would the team excel? See France, they were still inviting giroud as their top 9, if na England dem for don dey invite Ben yedder and lacazette tire and thus the understanding giroud had with griezmann and other forwards will be neglected |

Spy360: I mean it will add to the value. Call it hype if you like but there's a reason United bought Sancho for 82m after he was called up to NT, Calvert-Lewin, etc.
Once a player reaches NT, that player becomes an international player. That's extra bucks for his club and extra excitement for his fans. There are many players that have been bought with high price even without representing their national teams; Joao Felix for example. Even Calvert Lewin got his call up cos of his performances. To me, your hype will still be there and as long you're in a top club giving exceptional performance, you must always see England National team. That's fact. I understand why southgate called ESR due to injuries to 4 players, else I support his decision not to call him initially. No need rushing all these guys |

Spy360: If performance is the criterion then White should be called up. performances is always the criterion, but you don't use 3 months of good performance to judge a player(at least not me). At least 6 months probably. Tyrone Mings is still riding on his performances of last season (coupled with england not having good CBs), so I'll give White from now till end of season (since there's no Intl break after this), if he still performs this great, then he'll be in my WC squad. I don't see the need rushing players into national teams after 1-3months of good performances As for Gabriel, he was due for call up a very long time |

Spy360: Forget talk. An international call up adds to the value of the player and his acceptance with non-club fans which is an advantage to the club. See Saka.
This aside, it gives the player morale and confidence against other top players. Let's just see how ESR's confidence will skyrocket once he's back against Liverpool. Saka will always be valued whether he plays for England or not. You can't be too good and not be valued. Maitland-niles is an England Intl, would you say he's more valued than ESR?? While I agree it breeds confidence to a player, but one thing is certain with ESR continuous rich vein of form, he'll be hard to be overlooked. One thing is very clear with Arteta tactics His attack starts from the back and the midfield is just to transition. Reason why almost all our back 5 are good passers. If play breaks in the midfield, we'll go back again. More so, they are all good aerially and defensively.
There's a reason why we're keeping clean sheets even tho our defence have faced one of the highest shots among top six this season |
