Abubakar never play for EPL o
komekn:

Abubakar has not been able to score more than 8 goals a season in the two seasons spent in the Saudi league.

But was not discarded by the Cameroon national team. I remember how he bullied Omeruo like a school boy.

But we discarded Ighalo too quickly for young pretender's like Sadiq, etc.

Simon got nothing on Lookman

Kog45:
Simon Moses cost us WC qualification against Ghana and it happened in the first leg, just a curling would have done it but hit the ball straight to the goalkeeper….Oh you forgot the same Lookman won us penalty against Ghana in the 2nd leg.

This SA knew what to expect from Lookman and they executed well doing very well to block his shots severally. With Osimhen in Finidi’s set up, we would have destroyed SA.

Sodiq is one player we should have tested in the Ghana and Mall friendlies.

With the way Iwobi is playing now (as a playmaker) I only see Kelechi Nwakali as a potential back up. The latter is a better shooter though.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 7:15pm On Jun 08
bro I would love to see that all match long.. not switching off one half and on another half. if they can maintain that tempo we will be on to great things.

Or did you mean his action part on the pitch?
if I remember him in the first half he was always looking to linking up quickly. Doing swift turns and runs..
if you have much of the first half video, you probably can do one..

How about Tinumu. I remember him more for his sideways runs, not really doing much going forward or in forward areas. Had a couple great clearance though.
BascoVanVeli:

He did good I wasn't talking about his performance. I was talking about the making/editing of the video.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 7:09pm On Jun 08
lol.. dude always misses from the squad because of injury. It's easy to forget him.

forgiveness:

Perhaps, you don't rate him.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 7:07pm On Jun 08
Okay lets forget that header miss. What did Onuachu add attacking wise? Any individual runs or goal threat? It's not like they didn't put several looping passes to him. Dude cannot run.. Does not suit our game style.

Lookman for example did not score, but took quite a number of shots that were blocked (kudos to the SA technical staff who also did their job here). The one he missed from a sexy (in Amokachi's voice) Onyedika pass, he probably would have laid it for Iwobi who was open.

M7even:

Onuachu should start in the next match. It's not like he missed any clear chance. The half chance he headed to the hands of the SA goalkeeper. He was OK. Except the midfielders who came in to influence the game , I didn't see Moffi do much better.

I keep forgeting Awoniyi. We have strikers to stand in for Osimhen. And they will deliver given the time Onuachu got.
why the delay in calling up Adebayo?
forgiveness:
My top 5 striker.

1. Osimhen
2. Awoniyi
3. Boniface
4. Elija Adebayo
5. Terem

Solanke and Samu Omoridion should be considered.

Solanke with 19 goals shocked shocked shocked

Fisayo played the entire first half na. I didn't think he did badly in the first half though.. I just wan double check.
BascoVanVeli:

I will try. It is easier to do guys who played like 20-30 minutes

Finidi should be humble enough to accept that he got it wrong wirh Onuachu starting, and give Moffi or Boniface the nod against Benin.

Coincidentally I had already responded. But what has ur post got to do with me in the first place?

Katcall:
Bruno Onyemachi/left back, Ismaila/right back, but finidi in his infinite wisdom decided to try tanimu and osayi in righback and left back respectively. Joebie come and explain because you are his supporter

Has Ismailia played for SE before? How do u just pick players to start that you have not seen perform well for the team before?

Bruno is not even in this team lol

Williams is a very sharp keeper. You don’t do that around him if you are not Okocha.

Mujtahida:

During the AFCON, one of our attackers I think it was Lookman tried the same thing with William, he nipped the ball off him. Moffi tried the same thing. By now they should know that the GK is good with such one on one situations.

Kelechi has club issues to sort out. Also he’s not had club games in a while. I don’t blame him, You can’t expect him to give at this moment. I blame Finidi for selecting him.
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 2:58pm On Jun 08
Finidi just needs to get it right with his selections. We no longer have a midfield problem.

I see no reason why we can’t beat SA away.
Games with bad pitches are the most tricky.

charlesemeka85:
if we can beat Benin,Zimbabwe home and away and beat Lesotho away then get a draw against SA we are good to go
Sports / Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 2:47pm On Jun 08
A good thing to take away is that the players have understanding of how Finidi wants them to play. They just need to maintain the tempo then improve on how they played that second half, then let’s hope we get all the points left. just a few changes in the playing personnel, we are good to go.

In the future I would like to see Elijah and Akpom added to the fray. Cant wait for the return of Zaidu, Ekong and Ola Aina. Ogbu and Ndah should get a look in. Taminu for me is not good at advancing play. Doesn’t suit the style we want to play. Could be a back up though when we want to switch gears.. Iheanacho should sort out his club issues and stay off for now. Isaac Success maybe should get a look in.
