ye ye ye and Morocco got to the SF of a World Cup. both are important, you still dey shalaye. Are they not all Nigerians? TheCongo2: I love your last sentence "you go explain tire". Nevertheless, let me explain this:
Morroco was the first African team to reach the Round of 16 back in 1986 — with a squad that was almost 100% locally based.
When was the last time the Nigerian league was truly showcased ? A youth growing in Nigeria has been formatted to believe that regardless of his soccer talent, he has to go abroad to join the superEagle. How ridiculous!
Cameroon performed strongly in the World Cup during the 1980s with a squad made largely of local players. But starting from 1994, after following Nigeria’s model of relying almost exclusively on abroad-based players, their national team’s has looked like a shadow of what it once was on the world stage.
Nigeria has nothing to show for it when it comes to its local league. Not because they lack local players, but because of this deep-rooted mentality that everything abroad is automatically better.
Anyway, when you start talking about giving a chance to local soccer youth to a Nigerian , you go explain tire. |

Awaziem is very decent as a RB, but doesnt do well to support the attack. I don't mind being cautious with this. Osayi does everything but is not great at anything. Maybe because he was converted to a full back. He is naturally a winger. AndSunGorilla: I don't recall Awaziem as someone having pace is my fear. Osayi didn't necessarily do bad against Gabon besides the penalty scare. He really joined in the attack and even had blocked shots. |

good take ChrisKels: Osayi's error was not a one off. The boy has always been sub par. Dude is not super eagles quality. Awaziem is average too but he is better than Osayi. Awaziem should be played as the right back. |

Maybe, just maybe we qualify for the World Cup and Italy does not... TheSuperNerd: Time will tell on Kayode. Cambiasso and Di Lorenzo were picked ahead of him in the latest Italian list. Even Destiny Udogie missed out although that one is already captied forever. Di Marco and Calafiori are way ahead.
Honest Ahanor faces an uphill task too to break in even if they finally get him his italian passport. But he has time on his side as he is still a teen. Time will tell but you are somewhat right... Mission impossible for now by the look of things. Also, because I doubt we have made concrete approaches. |

Good trackings from you. But you see what I am saying. This Kayode matter is mission impossible TheSuperNerd: I believe I saw Zachary in the Swiss U21 lineup vs France U21s in a Euro U21 qualifier just before I switched to England U21 vs Ireland U21s. They also had another Nigerian defender in Bruno Ifechukwu Ogbus. Higher chance you say? Well, I dont know but I do know we hardly bag a Swiss-Nigerian.
Manuel Akanji... Noah Okafor... next to follow may be Bryan Okoh. |

And to set things straight bah, this same Nwabali is like the best goalkeeper in Africa, no jokes.
Strengths: Throwing, reflexes, ball distribution, physique, penalty saving, anticipation - he's strong in all these aspects.
But: Weaknesses: Discipline, anger issues, drama queen, lessing balls 😂 |

We have a higher chance of getting the Swiss young international, Zachary Athekame (20), of AC Milan than Michael Kayode. The latter indicated early this year is that his dream is to achieve big things for Italy senior national team. |

Games like this we need the likes of Uche. However this game will be won tactically, not by physicality. caprikon: CMR vs DRC was like an audition for Senegalese wrestling (Lamb). DRC have these big tall players and appear to pose a threat with set pieces. We conceded too many corners against Gabon in the second half. Sunday promises to be an exciting but physical game. I hope we come home with the victory and hopefully no injuries. |

na turkey turn that guy to full back. he's naturally a winger. Today, he should not be in the team though he's had some okay games. SymphonyRad: Osayi-Samuel should be kept far far far away from this team, dude is absolute crap. |

Assuming he attempted a jump for the ball he for get the pen. chrisooblog: Yeah we got away with one with that penalty call but like you said the guy diving put doubt in the referee's mind.
This is where African refs > EPL ones.
You can be damn sure if it was Michael Oliver na pen straight. |
