Pinnick dey talk about dynamism. He needs to beef up our coaching personnel to embrace that concept. Talk is cheap. Kbs468: PACY WINGERS CHUKWUEZE, SIMON, MUSA : Pinnick Advises Rohr To Maintain Nigeria Style Of Play
Published: November 12, 2019
Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has advised Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr to maintain the country's style of play which relies on fast wingers.
Over the years, Nigeria have produced wingers with blistering pace and ability to dribble past defenders such as Finidi George, Emmanuel Amuneke and Friday Elahor.
''Our style of football has always been free flowing football using the wings, that has been traditional - from the 'Elastic Elahor' to Edobor - we have always been using the wings because we are very fast,'' Pinnick said in an interview with Channels Television monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com.
''And you see that is what we are using with Chukwueze and Moses Simon and even Ahmed Musa, we have always been using the wings, we compact the midfield then we spread the balls.
''But football has gone beyond that, you just look at creativity in terms of how do we approach this game, so it is dynamic''.
By revealing that fullbacks are now obsolete as they can function as wingers and wing-backs, Pinnick showed he's abreast of new developments in the game, tactically speaking.
''Now there are no left fullbacks anymore, those are wingers because they run the flanks, that is why you have our left fullback that plays for Paderborn and the right fullback, they always do that stretch all the time,'' he remarked.
Super Eagles coach Rohr often deploys a 4-2-3-1 formation or a 3-5-2 system which focuses on counter-attacking.

It's fast becoming a world standard. We should embrace it. But it's yet another thing to implement it well Kbs468: VIDEO ASSISTANT REFEREE in NPFL
opera.com
Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is a team of three people who work together to review certain calls made by the main referee by watching video replays of the relevant incidents in a game.
PENALTIES, RED CARDS, GOALS, and MISTAKEN IDENTITY in awarding a card are MAJOR FOUR, decisions that require the use of VAR.
The technology was first implemented at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and has since continued to gain recognition from other league bodies around the world, including the Bundesliga, Serie A, and the English Premier League.
VAR ENTRANCE in AFRICAN FOOTBALL.
VAR made its African football debut in February 2018 at the Total CAF Super Cup clash between Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo staged in Casablanca.
It was followed by the final matches of the CAF Inter clubs competitions in 2018 and for the 2018/19 season, and the 2019 Total CAF Super Cup in Doha, Qatar.
CAF explored the use of VAR in a major competition for the first time when it was introduced in the quarter-final of 2019 Total African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Recently, Morocco became the first African country to embrace the Video Assistant Referee in its domestic league matches. VAR Controversies.
The Video Assistant Referee was reported to experience technical issues when it was needed to review Wydad Cassablanca equalizer against Tunisian side, Espérance in the final of 2018/2019 Total CAF Champion second leg clash.
Bakary Gassama was at the center of the controversy after he wrongly adjudged Wydad's Walid El Karti 59th minute header as off-side.
Espérance de Tunis were later declared winners of the tie following Confederation of African Football ruling on 7th August 2019 to claim the Caf champions league title.
It is worthy to note that VAR will not achieve 100 per cent accuracy, but will positively influence decision-making and lead to more correct, and fairer, judgments.
SHOULD LMC TAKE A CUE FROM MOROCCO?
The Nigeria Professional Football League is not new when it comes to dubious calls during match days, some decisions are as a result of human errors while others are intentionally carried out to favour a particular club side.
Some referees are allegedly paid by some clubs chairmen to influence the outcome of matches through bad officiating.
A former Super Eagles skipper Segun ‘the mathematical’ Odegbami has once tagged the Nigeria Professional Football League as the most corrupt league in the world. ”For years now, the Nigeria league is the most corrupt league in the world, you bribe officials in the office, you bribe referees every week and everywhere, teams don’t win by merit," he said.
Perhaps, if VAR is implemented in the NPFL, it would become more tasky for the bad eggs to have their way.
It would also encourage transparency in officiating and fair play.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VAR in NPFL?

5. And may I add Liverpool-born center back, Michael Ihiekwe is someone to put an eye on. The 26 year old is one of the best rated players in League One. Let's watch his progress amongst others.
6. Despite Victor Osimhen failing to hit target over the weekend he remains one of the top rated players in Ligue 1. He is ranked 5th with a goal contribution of 39% -- impressive!

How is it STYLISHLY? My position iwas very clear. Even when Icon4s did not make the top list I quoted him and made my opinion known at the onset. And then, my initial reply to this, read it again. That’s my own take on the matter and it clearly shows where I stand. And it’s really not a big deal for me either way, because Icons will still play the all important role regardless. Let’s stop making it seem someone is agaimst Icons. I believe icons himself understand my stand in this. This matter is not suppose to be dragged on. Trying to pitch monikers against monikers to form cliques. That’s divisiveness. Let the committee do it’s work. We are going nowhere. We will support u all regardless. komekn which is why I also used the stock analogy yesterday. A sudden burst in form can get countries thinking what if..? but I no wan continue to argue. komekn: Martin Keown said of Traore considering his BLISTERING DEVASTATING PACE possibly the fastest player in the World.
That he is like a learner driver behind the wheels of a Ferrari. However, it seems like he is finally learning how to control and master the powered speed at his disposal.
IMO once he learned how to use his unique attributes he is UNSTOPPABLE. That's incredible potential not suprised Spain want him thru have nobody like him.
And if he learns how to merge speed with technique. He will be great asset for any team |

why u dey tag me na? my final take on this is icons is the organizer. Even if he is not the chairman of the committee he can still play all the outside roles he played in the last edition. The chairman of the committee is the referee of nomination of players into each category and the co-pilot in the counting of votes. That's something tbaba, nerdie or even any member of the committee can handle.. This will not stop icons from doing the outside work and all the important parts he played last year. We know where Icons comes in in this. Nobody can take that away from him.. Anyways, lets leave matter, this is not really a big deal. It MAY not be a great loss at the instant but could be eventually. Everyday no be Christmas. You will not find Osimhens and the likes every 2 years even even if u do proper scouting every time Mujtahida: I think there's common sense in what the goodjoe said. I even think that to the u17- down to the u20 should be left exclusively for Nigerian home grown talents except foreign born players who are exceptional at that age (those who are in the field will be able to spot an exceptional player when one pops up)
At the stage of the 17-20 age grade, the stake in footballing terms is not too high. We can safely keep it for our local boys without too great a loss. |

Your take is a sentimental one because you are thinking of those who don’t have privileges but mine is lookin at the reality of our world today and thinking of the greatest heights we can possibly reach. . Nothing stops us from making our league better and also opening competition to all. I think that’s the real solution. Our crude methods in the past will not give us a competitive edge today. People are saying let’s do things as we did in the past. However, other nations who even did it better then have embraced the reality of globalization today, and are competing at a whole different level now. Which way Nigeria? TheGoodJoe: Leave the U17 for enabling players in the Grassroots develop. The U20 and U23 is there for foreign born. We Could have a super eagles team B that will be playing friendly games where the foreign borns could play and have a home based team also.
But the U17 should remain for thorough scouting of special home based talents and develop them.
Let us not finally destroy the u17 system that brought the country so much joy. We ruled the World in that aspect. Let us not kill it but improve on the scouting in a more comprehensive manner. |
