femisplash: You mean Lagos State should have asked Anambra Government to donate their allocations to them to help pay LG workers and fix infrastructures, rather than thinking outside the box? It's not possible...Lagos state only did the best by carrying the financial Burden of the local governments then... Moreover, I think Lagos state wanted to test the law then by using the court to correct the injustice in the 1999 constitution and that is exactly what Wike is doing now with the issue of VAT. |

mrvitalis: LGA responsibility is clearly stated this is why you need Peter Obi to improve the educational sector
Why would Tinubu tamper with federal created LGAs who have him such right Under true federalism, it's the state government that has the power to create local governments area not federal government..Look at it how will Lagos and Jigawa be having the same number of local governments? If it was the state that finances local government,I'm sure jigawa state will day there is no basis for 20 local government councils...It was challenged in court then. Our federal government is too powerful...Look at the issue of VAT too. |

femisplash: In Nigeria, who takes the blame if a LG is underdeveloped? What Lagos state government simply did then was to increase tax and block all leakages ...Then, Lagos was on aggressive tax generation. The state assembly enacted local government joint account then for example tenement rate that was meant to be collected by the local government was changed to Land use charge, LASSAA too... Whatever was generated was shared to the local governments then.. Though people in Lagos hear wen that time... Several tax generating agencies were established then. |

babasolution: That's not the reason,in the south south, there are other cities apart from the capital,Edo as other developing towns, same with delta and akwaibom, even the East and Middlebelt. That argument is flawed.
Southwest cities aren't beautiful, because attention is not played to orderliness and organisation, and the rusty old buildings are just too much In Enugu state, Bayelsa state, Imo state, mention any other city besides the capital city...Let's start from there. |

Akinfemmy: There are no egbas in lagos. Maybe you meant the egun people of badagry. True no Egbas in Lagos...no Egbas but there are ilajes predominantly in Ondo state that are indigenous to Lagos state... Instead of some people to learn from what we are posting, they are throwing tantrums...They should continue. Lagos is the pride of the Yorubas in Nigeria,Benin republic, Brazil etc..If the whites were not gaining from Lagos , they won't have made it the capital of the country at that time. |

Kapeter: God bless DAWN COMMISSION. If you know you know. Irrespective of political divides,Yorubas believe they are one...No state is inferior to the other...What matters to south west governors has always been the development of the south west.. |
Politics › Re: The Southwest In Reality Is Not As Developed As Southeast Or South South by Jogs1900: 2:01am On Jan 12, 2023 |
I think what you don't understand is that the south west states development is beyond the state capital hence why u think south west is not developed...They spread it to other areas...In Nigeria standards ,south western states do have other cities the government do develop simultaneously...For example in Ogun state, asides the state capital, there are other cities like Sagamu, sango OTA, ijebu ode, ago iwoye, ijebu Igbo, ilaro whereas in Enugu, it's only Enugu town that development is centred on even Nsukka is being neglected by the state government. |
Politics › Re: What Each Item On The Lagos State Logo Represents by Jogs1900: 9:08pm On Jan 11, 2023 |
Biodun556: Even nothing is attached to Benin in the logo
Lagos belongs to the Yorubas, the prosperous tribe No doubt about Lagos belonging to Yorubas...The Egbas, Ijebus and the Aworis are the owners of Lagos state and they are predominantly in Ogun state... Thats why there is no much difference between Lagos and Ogun state in terms of Culture and traditions. |

Aufbauh: I will advice Tinubu to slow down on his campaign as he has already won this election.
He will win by majority votes and the only candidate that can achieve the 25% in 24 states plus FCT.
I've predicted Nigeria presidential election since 1999 and it has not failed.
Meanwhile Atiku should work harder if not Obi will take his position. We know he has won the election..We are now interested in the margin he will use to defeat the first runners up ... Infact let him continue pressing their necks till when he will be sworn in... God bless federal republic of Nigeria |

Sammy07: But business can't move in the north.
Apart from their state capitals, nothing Dey elsewhere. Which is not the same In South It depends on what you want to sell in the north... Though I live in the state capital, they have the population to drive business...I see guys selling phone and it's accessories doing fine, okrika clothes, medicine, all these sex enhancers, cosmetics and if you are into foodstuffs, you make good money... Northerners like to eat good food. These are general things one can sell..If you want to go into bar, just go to Barnawa or inside any barrack, you will make money...Even Muslims will patronize you.Kaduna has other cities too like Zaria,Kafanchan |
Politics › Re: Why Do All Regions Have Different Prices Of Petrol? by Jogs1900: 6:27am On Jan 10, 2023 |
Sammy07: Worrisome, all these should be challenged. Imagine a country where cost of things are very high in some parts of the country and low in other part of the country and medium in another part of the country.
Funny country, if to say na developed country, there won't be any excuse. E. G, USA, their states has different minimum wages and things are costly depends on where you are.
Apart from insecurities and sun, North dey okay Honestly I'm enjoying my self in the north more than I did in the south concerning finances....The house rent in Places like Enugu, Owerri, Abakaliki is the same as that of Lagos. I think it will be difficult to check.Food is even cheaper in Lagos than in the south east despite most food being consumed in Lagos are being brought from other states. |
Politics › Re: Why Do All Regions Have Different Prices Of Petrol? by Jogs1900: 5:47am On Jan 10, 2023 |
Sammy07: But how come? I've lived and worked in all the states in the south east before being transferred to the north.... If you want to buy beverages, electronics , clothes or shoes in the East and you complain of the high price they give you,They will tell you it's being transported from Lagos hence the reason for the high price....Even food in the East, all the food sellers sell per plate..Nothing like mama put...If you live in Lagos, you will always be irritated by the high cost of commodities in their markets unlike in the north.Till date, a bag of sachet water is #140 in my area in Kaduna central...There is still #50 bike and they buy the same expensive fuel.Lots of middleman in the East has turned everything to business. |
Politics › Re: Why Do All Regions Have Different Prices Of Petrol? by Jogs1900: 11:43pm On Jan 09, 2023 |
Sammy07: In west, highest have seen is #300 and it's rare
Same as North Central, even some places in Abuja sells #170.
I was just learning that in Port Harcourt and many places in South South it's sold @#500
And many places in South East, it's sold @#300 - #400
Places like Kaduna, Kano, #270 - #340.
I think this should be addressed, maybe those distributors or marketers have been not been sincere and setting high Profit. It's because inflation rate in the south south is the highest followed by that of South East.. |

Tinibu cannot get 30% in Nuhu Ribadu's polling unit, ward and Yola South, his LGA.. Show us the receipt..okay. Atiku came to Kaduna to campaign, El rufai boys chased them away...The next day PDP was lamenting...Do you think Ganduje will ever betray Tinubu...Or Borno or Yobe will betray Shettimas? Tinubu has loyalists in the north... Forget what happened in 2015... Jonathan lost because he's not a core politician by sidelining one of the zones that made him win in 2011... Jonathan and his allies aren't as smart as Tinubu and his allies in this political game...I'm sure Tinubu will trounce Atiku in the north next month.... |

ImmaculateJOE: How many times would they tell you that this gathering are for Binani..?
Tinibu had to bring back his campaign in Adamawa from 18th Jan back to 9th Jan just to fit in..
Binani was the sole reason why Buhari was here today..
If you know any person that is based in Adamawa and is following the politics here.. Ask he/she what's the meaning of Chinkawfa da Wake.. APC PCC listed 10 states Buhari will go for their campaigns..Does it mean Buhari will go there solely because of the Guber candidates alone?Do you think it's easy for the President to visit a state twice in a month? They have to fine-tune it to fit into the president schedule...Buhari gave them his itinerary hence the reason for adjusting their campaign timetable....It's not meant to be an issue. |

"What I did not know, which came out glaringly later, was his parental background which was somewhat shadowy, his propensity to corruption, his tendency to disloyalty, his inability to say and stick to the truth all the time,a propensity for poor judgment, his belief and reliance on marabouts , his lack of transparency, his trust in money to buy his way out on all issues and his readiness to sacrifice morality, integrity, propriety truth and national interest for self and selfish interest"

"I am not a politician. I am a decorated soldier. I am an army General. If you are looking for a thorough bred politician in Nigeria, visit Bourdillon lagos. There, you will find one. However, politics has no permanent friend or enemy. If you remind me about what BOLA said about me four years ago, have you reminded yourself of what I did to him and his Lagos Government about 20years ago.?. I almost crashed his government and state. No governor or government from 1999 till date would have survived what I did to Bola and Lagos. He survived because he has the magic wand and I hope he gets the chance to wave the wand over Nigeria.".....Obj 2014 in a book UNDER MY WATCH.

SAMJAY7: the moment Tinubu officially declared to run for presidency was when i knew he'd succeed Muhammad Buhari
Presidency is coming down south and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the candidate to succeed Muhammad Buhari
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the candidate the northerners can handover power to Looking at Tinubus antecedent, He's someone you can trust...The hatred from a particular set of people is what really endeared me and many people to Tinubu...I used to be indifferent before..But because of the hatred, I had to transfer my voters card from Enugu to Kaduna state where I live presently all for Asiwaju.... And here in Kaduna, El rufai is in firm control.PDP is jittery Nigeria will rise again by Gods grace.Amen |
