Employers tend not to like them, but Business owners love them.
I'll speak based on my experience with them, as a business owner.
Several years ago, I had serious difficulties managing various businesses I had set up. The staff dealt with me. Forging of invoices, theft of inventory, inflation of contracts, there's nothing they didn't do.
The Nigerian workers were out to finish me. Like they say, "where person dey work, na there e dey chop, hence the name, workchop (workshop)".
You sack and replace them, the new ones continue from where the old ones stopped. They will even improve their techniques of stealing so as not be caught like their predecessors.
After trying so many methods to reduce all this, from utilizing tech and automating several processes, to involving relatives, it came to my realization that the only way to stop all this was to run the businesses myself, to be "on ground" always, but that wasn't possible. So I planned to start shutting them down and to focus only on one. I told a friend who was also a businessman about my challenges and plans, hoping he would be able to purchase some of the assets I was hoping to sell from the shutdown businesses. He recommended I hire indian management. I wasn't keen at first, but finally decided to try it.
To put it shortly, I eventually got an Indian manager for one of the businesses and it worked like magic. Business began to be good. Profit began to come in. For the first time, I could be away and still be confident and relaxed that my business is in good hands. Apparently, the business troubles we had been having weren't because of "bad economy", it was because of "bad workers" who were out to build houses on my head.
Today, the businesses are growing from strength to strength. All key positions are occupied by indians. If I'm starting a new business today, all key positions go to indians by default.
I have recommended the "indian solution" to so many business people, at least 5 of which have adopted it this year alone, and it has been good stories since then. Not a single one of them has regretted the decision.
The simple truth is that the average Nigerian is corrupt and is a thief. Those who have not stolen have not done so simply because of lack of opportunity.
And that's why our country is like this, after all, the leadership is a representation of the citizenry. Nigerians are a bad people and have rightly given rise to bad leaders.

I am currently thinking of how to solve this employee issue with my small business. I just fired one Niyi who was not only plotting to steal my phone with another staff just one week after he was employed. He was bullying another employee of mine to accept the stealing idea of his scheming to ensure that fuel purchase money was stolen and even came with some gang to threaten the other employee who was yet to agree to his theft idea.
The other girl, Rachel collaborated with another employee, Moses and her boyfriend who exposed her to forge receipts and take out 100,000 per day from my small business that we are even paying loan on. They had a target of 100,000 per day.

In January 2020, Samurai announced a second fund called the “Samurai Africa 2nd General Partnership”. The now-closed fund will focus on startups in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa – and Egypt, where they hope to make their first investments.
In these countries, Samurai will target investments in fintech, insurtech, healthcare, commerce, energy, agritech, mobility and entertainment. Ticket sizes will range between $50,000 and $800,000 and will be for startups between pre-seed and Series A stages.
A notable development from Samurai’s new fund is the nature of limited partners who invested in the fund. One big name – Toyota Tsusho Corporation – stands out.
A member of the Toyota Group, Toyota Tsusho has been investing in Africa startups since 2019 through Mobility54, its corporate venture capital arm. In March this year, the venture invested in Ivorian transportation startup Moja Ride. Kenyan logistics company, Sendy, has also been backed by Toyota Tsusho.
By highlighting Toyota Tsusho’s investment in this $18 million fund and the presence of “professional investors with expertise in overseas investment,” Samurai hopes to present itself as an experienced and internationally valuable source of funding for African startups.
That is because Samurai is one of a growing number of Japanese VCs with an eye for Africa. In February, two-year-old Uncovered Fund announced its $15 million Africa fund to invest $50,000 to $500,000 in seed and Series A stage African startups. Uncovered Fund’s CEO, Takuma Terakubo, helped co-launch Samurai Incubate.
Samurai and Uncovered hope to catch up to Kepple Africa Ventures, perhaps the most experienced Japanese VC in Africa; since 2018, Kepple has invested in 50 startups, with 21 deals done between January and May 2020 alone. Kepple and Samurai have some common ground though; they are investors in Bamboo, the Nigerian stock investment app.

When I started staying on my own in this benin. I had no gas,pot, plates etc. My female neighbour would Cook and give me whenever I come back from work or sometimes she'll tell me to take myself because we do share the same kitchen. Sigmundbest: chia, different format of scamming, God will help us in this country I was scammed by some guys last month, I sell goods online, someone called like few weeks before the actual scamming, that he bought one of my products and he is really enjoying it, I said fine am happy to hear that, please if you are reading please kindly learn from this, so he told me that he had one of his boy like that, he had been serving his master for long, I said ok, he said his master is not releasing him after he had served for the agreed duration and that he wants to find something he can sell secretly and when he saw my product, it looks like a nice product he can start up with, I said ok no problem, he said the guy was going to give me a call and I said no problem, I think after a while like 2 weeks or so, a guy called me and said from so so that he is the one that someone called on behalf, I said oh ok, I remember someone told me about you calling, he reintroduced the fact that he wants to buy goods codedly and that him calling sef no one must know that he is calling and that he had to sneak out and make the phone call, I said ok, he even said I should not let the man that even called me previously to know that he had called concerning him getting the goods, I said I did not even saved his number, he said ok, then he said he had saved up some cash for the business, he asked of how much one will cost, we bargained and concluded on price, the he said he wants to buy the goods worth of 4 million naira, I said ok no prob, I did the maths and told him how many product he is getting and even gave tips of how to sell fast, he said I should drop my account details on Whatsapp which I did, I called him that I have sent the account number, he said I should not call that he doesn't want anyone in his shop to know he is talking to me, I said ok no problem he can be the one to contact me, later in the afternoon he called that there is no how he will be able to make it to the bank and that it was cash he saved up that he will call me later, I said ok oh,so he said he will call me later that he quickly left the shop to come call me, I said ok no problem, later in the evening around 6pm he called again and said that this is how we will do it. He said he is going to carry a small fridge from shop home that they will think it's for a customer he wants to send it to in Lagos from Abuja, and that he is going to put the money in the fridge and lock it and waybill to Lagos from Abuja, and that when he gets to park he will call me and give me the driver number, so I said ok no prob, that I will recieve the waybill next morning and the fridge will be like a wedding gift to me as per what he will tell the driver. Around 7pm he called in which I missed his call, when I saw the call I called back, he said why did I not pick up call that he had dropped the package at the park and he will text me driver number which he did immediately and he said I should call the driver, I called the driver it was noisy as a true park, I said I am the one recieving a fridge he said yes that the guy dropped it not long and stated where I am collecting it in Lagos, he said when he is approaching berger he will call me so I can prep to come pick up the package, I said ok, I informed him that I had spoken with the driver and told him when I get it, he will recieve the package so so day in Abuja because I had make necessary plans on his goods alright, just for me to get the money and send his goods to him. So it was in the morning as early as 5 45am I was taking my bath, my wife brought my phone to me that it's Ringing, behold it was the driver calling me, I was like haha why is the driver calling me this very early, I picked his call he said ha that he had been at ore in Ondo state since around 5am or so that custom held his bus o that they are saying he carried drugs, am like drugs ke, wetin be this one like this, he said that they said they must open the fridge that not long they cought a bus like that and it was drugs, am like which kind thing be this one like this, he said I should speak with them, I wanted to like call the guy that sent it am like he doesn't want the people around to know he is buying something like that and it's too early, I was like well let me sort it out, although I suspect that they used jassed, the funny thing was that my wife was not really feeling fine that night before I would have told her Abt it, in continuation with the driver he said the said it 500,000 they will collect o to release the driver and the will give custom paper that will cover the fridge till the driver will get to Lagos, we started I said I can only pay 20k the driver said I should send it. He called again. That the oga is now angry that I should talk to one of the custom person, that one sha talk talk that, along the line I was like haha I searched true caller to bring the driver details, low and behold true caller brought out Abuja driver, am like this driver is just been delayed, I called the guy he said he couldn't talk where he is that I should please sort it out, to cut the long story short I paid a total of 250,000 to the fake custom guy feeling that I don't want the guy sweat to go in vain, infact I sent the money because true caller brought it as if the guy is a real driver, bringing Abuja driver that was what made me paid and that he had collected the paper that will cover him till Lagos, when I discovered or when my eye clear na when the driver wey I say make Eno call me again till he call me for pick up call me again say ndlea catch am again for ogun state and say Dem talk say Dem self go collect 500k na there I know say something is wrong and my wife and logistics guy find out Abt the motor say Eno dey exist for the pack,, i believe they used jassed.
