It's nothing but a wrong mindset to think that you will resent your own land/ country and expect that you will prosper on that land or overseas, it's impossible!

When you are not blessed in Nigeria, it's not because others are not doing well here in Nigeria, for most of you, you were horribly raised with the wrong mindset and indoctrinated to hate Nigeria by some of your parents who were part of those behind the multiple problems now facing the nation so you ended up and continued your life in a circle of negative minded unpatriotic people. You curse Nigeria, the land curses you back in multiple folds and nothing you sow in the land will prosper but if you bless Nigeria, the land blesses you back in multiples.

Until you wish Nigeria well and do your best in patriotism, you will never be blessed by this land and if you carry your resentment and hatred for Nigeria overseas, the rejection by Nigeria will follow you like your shadow.

The grass is always greener on the other side until you get there. What you are doing here in Nigeria is so valuable that if you nurture it well, you will one day be going overseas for business/ professional travels and enjoy vacations with your family and friends. And even if you still don't go overseas, you will be happy, safe, fulfilled and blessed here in Nigeria.

Advanced countries are not for weak minds and lazy folks.I will japa to Yankee again in my next life if there is one and I find myself in countries like naija,jobless with B.sc at age 30 and later got a 70k job with an Msc. at almost 40.Reason is that as I am presently after being in this Yankee and hussle for just 7 years I am already a house owner in both here and in Naija.I can afford to change my car whenever I feel like.JUST WORK HARD AND PRAY FOR GRACE.Its easier to overcome poverty in advanced countries.

Abroad is good for people that depends on 9 to 5 jobs, but being a cab driver from being an actor is a step backwards... creative people are cashing out in naija...cars is not a problem to many business people in Nigeria, so many have houses and tenants too, but i understand if people go abroad to look for work, because of the poor wages in Nigeria, but people successful in their business here are living good. It's about choice, and decisions. Abroad is not better, because a lot there too are living at the bottom of the food chain.

This japa syndrome has to do with a neo colonialism agenda and mentality...but of course wage differences are an issue...but why would a successful actor go become a cab driver...actors are getting international gigs from Nigeria and tapping from the local endorsement deals, appearances etc...how much can you really make being a cab driver in America?

We need to free ourselves from this mentality.

All these violence in Northern Nigeria has its roots in the social/cultural/religious ideology of the North...a society is a product of the people that live there. The almajiri system in itself is a recipe for disaster, and is one of the biggest problems of the north, it benefits the oligarchy system, and this is a breeding ground for raw recruits for terrorists and bandits.

When the almajiri grows up with no job or training/education, he knows no way to make a living, based on the ideology of the system, which is asking for alms. When this man grows up poor, broke and indoctrinated in religion, it is very easy for bokoharam, Iswap to twist same religion, manipulate same passages and initiate them into their religious extremism and terrorism groups.

Stop burying your head in the sand, am just here offering solutions to Northern problems because I have some friends in the north too.
