In UK they give quotas 10hrs max per day. If your money can't flex you in UK, and you have to wait to come here to flex, then you are still struggling. |
DaniellaDokubo:It can buy us time, till we start importing less...if Dangote can supply local market PMS and diesel, this will reduce our dollar needs to import these products... government should encourage local production of food and utilities...we can buy time with this, make the economy run, rather than watch dollar go off the roof, and the masses hitting the streets out of hunger and frustration. In economy it's about finding an equilibrium, till you get to your development or economic prosperity point. Economics is not static...but government must focus on catering for the people, doing everything it can to make food and basic things cheap, so life goes on, otherwise it's chaos and the vicious cycle...don't forget the poor people are majority. Don't forget a nation is not a business, the work of government is to take care of the people, make sure food and basic utilities, fuel etc is cheap, not to release balance sheet. |
erico2k2:Because you dont live in Nigeria, you wish it bad? Don't do that...I know those of you abroad want naira to keep crashing so your foreign currency will have more value here, but the high dollar rates affects the masses here. I might not be affected economically, but the high cost of living heats up the polity, and precipitates a vicious cycle. |
erico2k2:You people are delusional to think FG will sit down and watch dollar rate go off the roof, with Nigerians hungry, threatening mass insurrection, and do nothing...una funny o. Dollar rate will keep going down, PMS, diesel price will come down. Offload your dollars now. |
erico2k2:If FG can't work to make sure Nigerians are comfortable, then what are they doing there? It's amazing how you people rate FG. |
Good meeting. |
erico2k2:I know but at a point we must push for the right things... imagine if all Nigerians becomes corrupt, nobody works anymore, everyone focus on hoarding wnd trading dollars, dont you think it will lead to crises? Didn't you see the protest when dollar was N1700/dollar, this dollar issue affects the security, and stability of the country, because imported goods will be out of reach of the common man due to high cost, this will lead to more criminality, protests and public disorders...or should we destroy our country and all become dollar hoarders? The federal government has no choice, for it is better for federal government to use economic policies and monetary and fiscal measures to ensure the naira is strengthened than watch the nation go up in flames and chaos...the government job is to take care of the people...if government have to subsidize dollars so it comes down, so majority of Nigerians who are poor can afford things, I support it, that is the work of government, do everything possible to make the masses okay... otherwise government will see problems in their hands. Let us try to change o, Nigerians. |
erico2k2:Why are you against the nation? The nation birthed you, fed you to this day. Is it bad to patronize Nigerian made product...I know some of us benefits from imports, dollar increase etc, but it doesn't mean we should not embrace good things... |
Ipob is becoming a disgrace to their people. Cowardly lies everywhere, nobody can take you seriously with this behavior. |
femicyrus:Car production is one of the easiest things to do for a nation like Nigeria...we just need positive productive people, not people who only want to get rich by destroying the nation's economy. Nigerians too are a problem, they don't know what it is to come from a country...they seem to hate the country, but they are hating on themselves, because this is their country. |
No smart person will see these signs and think naira won't appreciate. Dollar moved from N600/dollar to N1700/dollar (due to floating of naira), you made bogus profits, but your greed thinks it will continue...the windfall was due to the floating, even with all these current signs, Dangote, monetary policy and fiscal regulating measures you still think it will jump up again...now N1300/dollar... nothing is static especially in economics, a smart government must fight to make its currency strong. The Nigerian government seems to have taken the turn, things will only get better. Offload your dollars now, for your own good. Let us build our currency, we spend naira here not dollars, currency speculation is not a full time business. |
There should be an holistic investigation... though it's sad to open fire on the soldiers, at least respect the authority they carry, because i don't think if the soldiers were on offensive they will be taken out easily. |
Believeintruth:Okay keep hiding your dollar under mattress, you go come here and cry. Dangote will see in naira internationally, we won't import diesel or PMS anymore...won't the dollar come down? Most of you are just greedy people sabotaging your country economy, just greedy and dumb, you don't know the dynamics of foreign exchange, balance of payments, etc... |
Power of mullah ![]() |
Believeintruth:You call it propaganda but it is analysis, based on trends and occurrences. |
Gilgil:Everything I stated is happening already and the rest will happen, if you love dollar go to America, this is Nigeria, we will strengthen the naira. |
Emusan:Those jobless almajiri youths are easy prey to bokoharam as recruits, they use the poverty and religion |
femisplash:If we sell in naira, naira will appreciate faster, in this case we are being active, rather than being passive. When naira appreciate the value of our loan servicing payments will not be as high as it is now, we can pay up faster. It's all about demand and supply, it applies in all cases. If Nigeria sells it's oil in naira, nations will buy naira from us to buy the oil, the demand for naira will push up its value. It's all about demand and supply...this is why when the market is flooded with dollars the price crashes, and when unpatriotic Nigerians hoard it, there is scarcity and the price goes up. This dollar appreciation is a big problem to Nigeria, if we can combat this, then we will achieve prosperity faster. Buy Nigeria goods and patronize Nigerian services, government should continue to use monetary and fiscal policy measures to protect the naira, like flooding the forex market and regulating tightly. Regulating is important that is why we have CBN etc. |
femisplash:The naira will appreciate fast, we will be able to pay off our debts quicker, if the president has the courage to do this, we will pay up our debts quicker... Nigeria is servicing it's debt, if not for stealing in government thise debt are chicken feed to pay back. Owing debts has nothing to do with us selling in naira, as long as we pay them their debts...we are not obliged to keep selling in naira because we are owing. |
Paying ransom is illegal, your cousin is encouraging kidnapping. Report to police or army, how will kidnapping end when you enrich terrorists? |
AcadaWriter:Let them keep hiding dollars in their beds dem go chop am. |
We should charge naira for our oil export, make them go buy naira, to buy our oil, this will boost naira demand and value. |
Are you angry that you unpatriotic hoarders and speculators will soon be out of business? |
It will hit N400 before end of this year. Offload your dollars now, you unpatriotic hoarders and speculators...for your own good. |
Wainey:You are just a zombie, following America and it's dictates like all the other zombies. Who made dollar universal currency? Who owns IMF? Who owns world bank? America owns this institutions, use it to manipulate Africa nations, and made it's currency international trading currency and zombies like you want to continue in that system, even when your currency can't compete... wisdom is profitable when used, it's not enough to know. |
Offload your dollars now... mark this thread, you will say I told you. |
Wainey:Who made it universal? Who gave it that previledge? Nobody, it's just the slave mentality of Nigerians... nothing like universal currency, it is only used as the official currency in international trade, under the neocolonialistic imf international trade system...that's why we must join BRICS. Nigeria is a sovereign nation, we can make laws to protect our currency and economy. We are not subjects of America. Nothing like universal currency. |
Wainey:It's a crime to spend foreign currency when you have your national currency as legal tender...when you are going into Australia, you can't be with naira, you must have Australian currency. Stop talking off point. |
These people from wicked countries where they treat Nigerians as slaves. |
Government is too lenient on terrorists and their sympathizers. The government need a secret hit squad to eliminate enemies of the state. Terrorize the terrorists...those in jails, poison them slowly. Terrorist have killed over a million Nigerians we should be eliminating the demons. Government need a secret squad for elimination of terrorists leaders, sponsors and sympathizers, nobody needs to know. A terrorist has no rights, all is fair in war, terrorists have since declared war on Nigeria, we are looking like zombie...ask Russian government to teach you how to deal with terrorists. |
I have not seen a senator gone to jail in Nigeria, despite trillions that have gone down on constituency allowances, with no work on ground to show. |
Dundalk:Especially dummies |
