Surplus90: I'm a Nigerian first and foremost. An Igbo-Nigerian if you insist. In fully committed to the Nigeria project. I want to be part of the effort to make Nigeria the number one destination for every good thing!
Nigeria is our collective responsibility, and unanimous assignment! Just as no one has a say in his/her birth, so no one determines what nation he/she gets born in. The current crop of secessionist propagandists and zealots have no meaningful rhetoric. While you judge these statements, ask yourself the following questions:
What manner of persons are these fellows? Are they people worth lending my ear-time to? Are they individuals my children can emulate? What have they done and achieved within the last 20 years socially, educationally, economically, scientifically, etc? Those following them, what are their intellectual capacities, our are they just mere touts and dropouts who have no input socially? Kindly investigate these matters before you become an intellectual lion roused by the creaking of a cricket. Imagine the chasmic intelligence void! It does not rest on the whim of a group of individuals to declare tiredness as a feeble reason for breaking out of a nation. It's sheer juvenile emotionalism and effervescent sentimentality to lend your voice to such childish tantrums. Carefully examine those agitating for this madness, what do they have to offer to their immediate society? Go to their villages, what kind of persons are they? How many humans have been improved because of their personal efforts? Check their personal lifestyles, what can they offer to your children? Will you as a parent allow them be your children's teachers? Do they have what it takes to educate your children? What exactly have they achieved that should make you agree with them? Tell you what, such MASSOB, IPOB, etc rabble-rousers have nothing good to offer except deafening razzmatazz aimed at aggrandizement.
Take Nnamdi Kanu for instance, how many students has he given scholarships to improve their opportunities in life? Where and when has he ever provided or solicited for medical services for anybody? Who has ever benefited from his philanthropic efforts? And he wants you to put your children's, nephews' and nieces' future in jeopardy because of a cause as destructive as his? Do you know the economic, human, emotional, environmental and anthropological cost of secession? If you don't know, please ask your parents! Are you aware that the followers of those agitating for this foible have no understanding of governance? Do you understand that it is aimless zeal without knowledge and understanding that drives such people. If there was ever a time for us to be sober and reflect on nation-building, it is NOW! Following the secessionist hype of the ilk of Nnamdi Kanu sounds like encouraging a teacher to encourage your kids to leave your house and authority whenever they're tired of your parenthood! That's the insanity of IPOB, MASSOB! And why are there two fronts now? Thought they're supposed to be united under one umbrella and achieve the one goal? Hidden interests are at work here! Better join hands and let's build a nation our kids would be proud of and happy with, and leave this foible to fizzle out without adding more gays to it.
The Nigerian Armed Forces are constitutionally mandated to defend and protect the integrity of the boundaries and peoples of Nigeria from external AND internal threats! Nigeria is a great nation and it's ours! Don't encourage folly and misguidedness...
...God bless us all! WHO ARE YOU? |

atbu1983: What South South Niger Delta wants is 50% Resource Control not biafra
Igbo are using the support they gave to Jonathan in 2015 election as blackmail to convert Niger delta struggle to biafra. Niger delta struggle is 50% resource control. This deception will not work. They only supported Jonathan because they got alot of appointments under Jonathan. They are just selfish and greedy people. Niger Delta Struggle is completely different from biafra agitation. Igbo supported Obasanjo against thier own son and hero Ojukwu in 2003 election, they should go and claim yoruba instead.
As far as I am concern Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa are all benefiting from the current system. After all an Igbo man Gen Agunyi Ironsi created the Unitary System for Nigeria in 1966 that we are complaining against today. Gen Agunyi Ironsi set the foundation for the destruction of regional federalism in Nigeria. if not for his love for total control and domination (The disease of an average Igbo man), Niger delta would have be enjoying 50% resource control today. When Isaac Adaka Boro wanted to form Ijaw Nation Republic in 1966 it was Igbo Head of State Gen Agunyi Ironsi that fought him with a 12 day war.
The Igbo claim to be one of us because some South South states were part of the old Eastern region. First of all, eastern region was created by Nigeria for Nigeria convenience. It was not a decision of the nationalities that made up the old eastern region. Secondly before most people forget, today Edo and Delta state were never at anytime part of eastern region. Edo and Delta states were first part of Western region later became Midwestern region, then change to Bendel state before becoming Edo and Delta state today. Some tribes speak Yoruba in Edo and Delta state. Why is yoruba not claiming Edo and Delta state the way igbo is claiming Rivers and Delta states because some people speak ibo in those states?
Igbo may have succeeded in brainwashing some South South people that they are one of us, it is a big lie. They may have succeeded in brainwashing some of us that only hausa and yoruba is the problem of South South, it is a big lie. They are the same as far as I am concern.
The problem with Igbo is greed, self-entitlement and born to rule, control and exploit mentality. Qatar is smaller than Bayelsa in population and half d size of Bayelsa state by landmass. Bayelsa is four times the size of Singapore. if Qatar and Singapore can be a country, why cant we have an Ijaw nation as a country? Do u think Ijaw people dont want to be like Qatar and enjoy their oil alone like Qatar does? Note: Bayelsa State is d smallest state in the south south by population and second to the last by landmass!!
Below is the size of south south states and south east states. South South is almost 3 times the size of south East. Yet the population of South east is almost 80% of south south population base on 2006 census. But by the time you add igbo who are currently leaving outside south east, you will discover that thier population is more than all the south south put together. More than 90% of the resources (oil, gas, limestones, etc) are in the south south. The whole of South East is landlock with no direct access to the sea or atlantic ocean. but almost all the south south states have direct assess to the sea and atlantic ocean. Some will say they have River Niger. River Niger is not a sea or an ocean for big Ships.
Tell me why South South Nations will want to form a country with south east if they have a choice ? all south east will bring to the table is population and domination? The total oil production from south east is not up to 10% of south south oil production!
If you are the leader of south south nations will you advice them to form a country with south east if they have the option of forming their own country alone? give a sincere answer!!
As far as I am concern, as unbrainwashed south south , there is no difference between the Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa. To me, these are three major tribe struggling and fighting for Supiriority. Whenever any of the three is loosing, he shout marginalization.
During Jonathan govt, the Igbos were gaining and were in control and were happy. The Yoruba were losing and were shouting marginalization. The hausa/fulani were not happy because they were not fully in control. For the North we can slightly understand because in the 16years of democracy (May 1999 to May 2015) the south ruled 13.3years while the North had just 2.7years
The Igbo don't love south south more than the hausa or Yoruba love us. All the three tribe are all struggling for the control of south south oil. None of the three is better than the other as far as we south south are concern.
The only place south south nationalities agree with Igbo is Nigeria should divide . However while south south clamour for succession is base on lack of true fiscal Federalism and resource control, on the other hand, igbo clamour for succession is base on IGBO BORN TO RULE, CONTROL AND EXPLOIT MENTALITY. Igbo make noise and claim d north have born to rule mentality because of Sokoto State former licence plate motto of born to rule which they have change. The People with the true born to rule mentality are d Igbo. it is because they are not having thier way that they are complaining and making all d noise all over Nigeria.
But how and why Nigeria will and should divide, what we want and what they want is as different as d distance of the earth to d moon.
South south want resource control or thier own freedom. we will support Biafra as Igbo only nation while they should support us to form our own nation or nations. But trying to add us as an appendage to Biafra will never happen.
If south south join Biafra, our individual identities will be wiped out in less than 50years. They will convert every south south nationality to Igbo. And they will so much take charge of the oil and resources with reckless abandon without any regard to d minorities.
LET EVERYONE FORMS HIS OWN NATION IF WE CAN'T GET 50% RESOURCE CONTROL. SOUTH SOUTH NATIONS DONT WANT IGBO, YORUBA OR HAUSA IN THIER NATION. WE DONT WANT ANY DOMINANT TRIBE TO CONTROL US IF OR WHEN NIGERIA DIVIDE.
They will argue that there are some igbo in rivers state, delta state and edo state. As far as i am concern Igbo speaking people in south south will join Niger delta republic or confederation. Their are Hausa people in Niger, there are Yoruba people in Benin Republic and Togo. Does that make those yoruba and hausa speaking people in those countries Nigerians?
The south south nationalities can form a confederation with United Arab Emirate template, where seven different nationalities came together to form a confederation with each nationality having some form of autonomy.
if the south east want to join the confederation they can join. We can't leave nigeria and go and form another normal single country were there is a dominant tribe. That will be moving from frying pan to fire.
Just like the United Ararb emirate asked qatar and behrain to join them, but qatar and behrain choose to form thier individual countries.
What Biafra represent is a single country with a powerful centre where a dominant tribe can control. South south dont want that. If we must fight or struggle for succession, we need a new name like "United State of niger delta" or any other name which clearly shows a union rather than a single country.
We need to set the record straight before south south nations make the mistake of south Sudan. It is more than Four years south sudan left sudan to form thier country. Since that time south sudan has been in War while North Sudan enjoy peace. This was because nations in south sudan came together to form a single country without ensuring that thier difference in ethnicity was fully discuss. Some part of south sudan are now feeling marginalized. That is exactly what will happen if Igbo succeed in forcing south south nations into Biafra. That so called Biafra wont have peace. It will be another Somalia!!!!
For peace to rain let Igbo form Biafra from the Five south east state and let the the six states in south south form a confederation or seperate nations. Anything outside this will never work.
I do not hate Igbo people. Many of my friends are Igbo. I only hate thier deceit and greed. what is good for the goose is good for the gander. What we dont want is a dominant tribe simple. If south south join Biafra, that country will be 60% Igbo. How do you think other minorities can compete in that kind of country? Whether we like it or not we both know that Igbo are not diplomatic people by nature. That will lead to complete extinction of other tribe. in less than 50years they will make the whole Biafra Ibo without any consideration.
I dont hate Igbo. But i hate when i know the Biafra they seek is a Biafra with current south south as an appendage to it. Why cant they support our freedom, and we will support thier freedom. Why do igbo make it look like it is wrong for Niger Delta people to seek thier own freedom outside Biafra? In biafra current south south minority will be like conquered people. God forbid that to happen.
a quote from Isaac Adaka Boro Autobiography (wriiten himself). Read Chapter 5 - Campus Politics http://www.adakaboro.org/the12dayrev/chapter-5-campus-politics. This was the campaign statement of his opponent for UNN SUG presidency: "My opponent, Ejiogu, took the floor when I had finished, and what did he say? "Ladies and gentleman, this is a crucial time in Nigeria when we should not allow a vocal minority to rule an obvious majority. These words still ring in my memory because, as my opponent put it, they are crucial not only to me but to my people, the Ijaws. Most of the alien students walked out of the hall and it seemed as if a spell was cast on the atmosphere. The campaigns ended solemnly and the result of the election was again one way. Ejiogu won with his majority. The last minute strategy. A Cameroonian friend of mine, John Ngole, promptly resigned his secretaryship of the Historical Society in protest."
I am very sure that Nigeria will divide faster if Igbo seek Biafra with 5 south east state alone and Niger delta republic seek a country with the 6 South south states alone at the same time. Once the Hausa and Yoruba sees that Igbo are supporting a Niger Delta republic separate from Biafra, they will see it as true struggle. But if the struggle is about Biafra with south south in it, where Igbo will gain south south resources with Yoruba and Hausa loosing out, I bet you until South South oil finishes, Nigeria wont divide.
If we cant get resource control, we don't need to form a single country with Igbo, we can seek for our separate nation on two front simultaneously but not on one front. What we need is cooperation from Igbo not togetherness with Igbo. If they truly want to leave Nigeria and liberate Niger delta people from dominant tribes, they should support us to form our nation as they form thiers. I bet you when that happen, the struggle will be half won.
The Ojukwu Biafra was Igbo dream not Ijaw, Esan, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ikwerre, ogoni, ibibio, etc dream.
In summary, my point is that why the primary interest of Niger Deltans is resource control, Igbo primary interest is seperation from Nigeria with Niger delta as thier trophy. Igbo wants a nation where they can become the lord, control and dominate others. Since in Nigeria, Hausa and yoruba are ahead of them in the power struggle, they resort to blackmail and cry foul claiming marginalization.
if Nigeria will divide peacefully by United Nations referendum, south south will not join Biafra. Peaceful division of Nigeria can only be into a minimum of five countries (Arewa republic, Niger Middle belt, United Niger Delta, Oduwa republic, and Biafra). South South will form its own nation/nations. The only way south south and south east will form a single country like Biafra is if Nigeria divide by War because population will be important in size of Army.
My Igbo neighbour may not like this submission, but it is the bitter truth Who the 4k are you by putting this shit every where. |

jaymichael: As the face-off between the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, and the leader of the Igbo community in the town, Mr. Gregory Iloehike, is yet to be resolved, the monarch has banned the title of ‘ Eze Ndi Igbo ‘ in Akureland. The Deji also ordered the title to be reviewed and replaced with a non-controversial honorary tittle. These were a few of the conditions given by the monarch to end the crisis and also to allow Igbo traders the freedom to continue operating their businesses in the community. The traditional rulers dethroned the Igbo leader last week and stopped his followers from operating their business following an alleged rude behaviour by Iloehike to the Akure paramount ruler at the Deji’s palace during the Igbo leader’s meeting with Oba Aladelusi. Oba Aladelusi ha equally instructed that the dethroned Eze must apologise for his unruly behavior in at least three national dailies as well as go on air to also tender an apology. He was also ordered to write a letter of apology to the monarch and the Deji-in-Council. Oba Adelusi also directed that the Igbo leader should stop wearing any form of crown and must comply with all the directives of the palace. It was learnt that the state governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, met with the two leaders separately on Tuesday evening at the Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure, when he reportedly pleaded with the Akure traditional ruler to forgive the embattled Igbo leader. At the meeting, it was gathered that the governor maintained that the Igbo leader could not go against the tradition and custom of the land as there was no basis or constitutional backing for such attitude. Mimiko, however, thanked the youths of the town, praising them for their maturity and peaceful disposition towards the matter. The traditional ruler maintained that a truce could then be brokered once the conditions were met. As a result of the crisis, all shops occupied by Igbo people at the Moferere Market, Akure, remained closed at of the time of filing this report. 4reala: Screen And Confirm Me or Refund My Money.- Amaechi To APC Leaders.
The embattled former governor of Rivers state, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has express frustration over the Senate refusal to screen and confirm him as a Minister of the Federal republic of Nigeria based on numerous petitions against him.
Mr Amaechi who was indicted by Rivers state government inquiry last month, demanded that the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) should exert pressure on the APC Senators to ensure that they will confirm him. He inform them, that if they are unable to pressure the Senators to confirm him either Tuesday or Wednesday, that the party should refund him the whole money that he used in sponsoring the President, party Governorship candidates and lawmakers across the country.
The Party leadership are aware of how desperate Amaechi can be, and therefore resolved to be contacting APC senators and planning calling for an emergency meeting before Tuesday, next week to device means of getting a soft landing for the indicted former governor of Rivers state.
According to one of the APC governors, Mr Amaechi spent over 80% of the campaign funds for the Buhari presidential election and that of other APC candidates in the last general election.
A sharp division had emerged among senators of the APC and PDP, even in the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, handling the petition against Amaechi which have delayed the committee's report.
The senators had suspended the screening of nominees on Thursday, as a result of the intense battle over Amaechi and the failure of the Public Petitions Committee to submit its report. However, speaking to newsmen on Thursday, Melaye said: “We are going to screen nine of them on Tuesday and the remaining nine on Wednesday. The confirmation of all the nominees would be taken on Wednesday.” - Hope For Nigeria.

samoney: By Abiodun Kuforiji Nkwocha What would you say if I told you that between last year and this year an estimated 11,000 people have been killed in Plateau State, mainly in Berom communities? What if I told you that over 40 villages have been sacked and some wiped out completely in Berom communities alone? If you were Nigerian you would try to correct me and say that I am probably talking about North East and not the North Central. You would be wrong. What if I told you that 11,000 is a conservative number? What if I asked you to station yourself at any mortuary and count the number of corpses that come in every single day from gun and machete injuries from the hands of armed Fulani men sometimes in cohorts with security agencies? Even if you were able to count the victims, I would ask you of the ones that are missing. I would ask of the bodies thrown in the wells. I would ask of hastily prepared same day burials because it is easier to bury the people today than to keep them and add the corpses of the next day to them. You would then ask me why? I would ask you what you have heard. You would tell me that you heard that the Berom people are cattle rustlers. Plateau protest, I would ask you how an 18 month old baby could rustle cattle. I would ask you how a 6 month old foetus even knew about cattle. I would ask you how whole communities collide and steal cattle. I will ask you how many cows are worth 11,000 lives. I would ask you how hundreds of thousands of people have had to flee their ancestral lands, farms and houses because they have been condemned to die for allegedly rustling cattle. I would ask you whether the wages of cattle rustling is death. Then you would wonder with me why cows only get rustled in Plateau. When places like Bauchi and Southern Kaduna and even in some parts of Gana Wuri in Plateau have more cattle than Berom land but have not witnessed the pogrom on the scale that Beroms have witnessed. Then you would be puzzled and ask me what was so special about the rustling in Berom land. I would laugh and ask you to sit down. I will tell you of land rich from the top to the bottom. I will tell you of the unmined lands of tin rich Kuru. I would tell you of the columbite in Bisichi. I would tell you about Gasish, Rim, Foron, Vat and so many other mineral rich areas. I would tell you about the Chinese with bags of money and determination to evade tax. I will tell you about the Hausas that sell minerals to the Chinese men. I will tell you about the Beroms that have been terrorized out of their land. I will tell you of exaggerated tales of rustling. I will tell you of isolated Berom youths in collision with Fulani youth. I will tell you of Fulani who have discovered that mining makes faster and easier money than herding. I will tell you of Fulani women who no longer carry calabashes with Fura da nono on their heads. I will tell of Fulani women that carry large pans filled with earth. Berom earth that is full of Tin, Columbite, Tantalite, Wolframite. You would need to sell hundreds of calabashes to buy a gun. But a pan filled with earth, keeps the men armed. I will tell you of a decline in cattle rearing that started since the 80s with education and when Fulanis started embracing dry season farming. I will tell you of hectares and hectares of land lying fallow. For their husband men are missing, fleeing, dying or dead. I will tell you about empty huts and houses. I will tell you about burnt settlements. I will tell you about the new owners. You would then ask me about government protection. I will tell you of a politics that looks away from the plight of dying people. I will tell you of compromised lawmakers, chiefs and kings. I will tell you of the rich that have shut their ears because the harrowing cries of the raped interrupt them as they count their gold coins. I will tell you about angry Berom youths who avenged senselessly the senseless deaths they have witnessed. You could ask me why the media keeps quiet. Politics › Re: Meet Kemi Adeosun - New Minister Of Finance by johnmark1234(m): 3:06pm On Oct 06, 2015 |
deking: Dressed in a floral top on a long denim skirt, nothing gave her identity away. There was no police orderly, protocol officer or aide clutching any of her items. She didn’t cut the picture of a commissioner. She held on to her Chanel bag and politely said hello.
To Kemi Adeosun, the Ogun State commissioner for Finance, life should not be so formal. “Fortunately, there is no room for a retinue of staff where I work. Though when I started as a commissioner in Ogun State, I was shocked to see men trying to carry my bag just because I am a commissioner. What! I simply told them that my bag is part of my dressing and God gave me hands to carry it. In England, you do everything and would not rely on people to do that for you,” she said.
Born and bred in London, her father was a civil servant and she is the third of four children. A graduate of Economics from the University of East London, she was a senior manager at the Price Waterhouse Coopers, London. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, England and Wales.
With a good job in her kitty, why did she return to Nigeria? She confessed that she needed to secure her home and have her family intact. ADVERTISEMENT
“I hardly came home except on holidays. Nothing gave me the feeling that I would ever live here,” the mother of three said. But her 20-year-old marriage saw her doing the unthinkable. According to her, her husband’s business brought him more to Lagos. “He was spending a lot of time in Nigeria and by 2002; I just thought the whole family should be living together. So, we moved. When I notified them in my office that I was coming to Nigeria, they were convinced that it was not going to work. In fact, I was asked to keep my job open and return to it, in case things didn’t work here,” she stated.
She belongs to the school of thought, where everything is possible. Her mind was made up. “I knew it was just a question of adjustment. I reasoned: if Chinese, Indians and other nationals come here and are coping, why wouldn’t I in my fatherland? So, I came. I would have retained my job at Price Water Cooper in Nigeria but I never wanted a job that would make me shuttle from one state to the other. So, I joined Denham Management as a financial controller and I rose to become the managing director. In 2008, we merged with Chapel Hill but I left in 2010. I wanted to be an entrepreneur,” she said.
That gingered the personal finance planning programme she organised for women. A newspaper columnist for sometime, Adeosun, who was the Managing Director, Quo Vadis Partnership for two years, recalled how she came about the programme: “When I returned from London, I discovered most Nigerian women don’t have anything! A large percentage carry designer bags, wear labels but live on credit. Some can’t even lend you N100,000! Meanwhile, she wears clothes and accessories worth hundreds of thousands! This was unlike our mothers, who built houses and had thriving businesses. So, I started running seminars and teachings on personal financial planning. Aside the column, I also had programmes in churches educating women on how to save money. Though I have stopped the column due to time constraint, I still do the teachings at fora whenever I have the time.”
Wondering how she clinched the finance portfolio in Governor Ibikunle Amosun cabinet?
According to her, it was never on her mind to have a job like such.
“In 2010, a mentor, who is a friend of the governor called me and said the governor wanted to see me,” she reminisced.
“He mentioned a job on finance but I replied that I wasn’t interested in any political appointment. He insisted and I went. I just wanted to get there, see the governor, thank him for considering me and reject the offer. But by the time I heard him talk about his plans for the state and his zeal (he is also an accountant); I changed my mind and took up the job,” she added.
But nothing prepared her for what laid ahead of her appointment. Was she frightened? “In fact, I kept asking myself, God! What have I done? The financial mess this government inherited was unthinkable! There were all sorts of debts- from banks to contractors, pensions etc. The funds available just would not go round. I almost cried one day when a pensioner walked into my office and begged me to pay her. She had cancer and was due for surgery in India but she didn’t have money. This and more made me determined that I have to utilise my skills and improve the financial health of my state. Thank God, we have made a lot of progress in getting the state back to her feet financially but it was tough!” she answered.
The challenges, she said, were enormous but she was able to overcome. “First, it was getting a large percentage to believe that a woman is the commissioner for finance. One day, I was summoned by the governor to see a contractor. When I entered, the look on the man’s face said it all — she can’t possibly be the commissioner. Considering my hair, make-up, suit and jewellery, he was confused. There were more episodes but now, everyone is accustomed to the idea. Whenever I went for the federal allocation committee meeting, I would be asked if I was representing the commissioner. Imagine! That was the question women would ask me! I would reply, “I’m the commissioner.” Aside that, other challenges were: insufficient funds and getting the citizens to pay taxes. Already, the government has started addressing that and we have started a civic education on tax in schools.”
The 45-year-old (she will be 46 in March), allows herself to be educated on matters she is ignorant of. “We learn from one another,” she stated.
“The Yoruba language I speak sounds like Chinese to others. I am from Ogun Waterside and we must make things work in our state. I tell my team to correct me whenever I’m wrong because there is so much ‘Yes ma’ here. It’s not like that abroad. That I’m a commissioner does not make me so superior that I would not be told the truth,” she added.
Despite her enthusiasm at what she does, life as a career woman, a mother (her kids are age 19, 16, and six) and a wife could be hectic. “I work in Abeokuta and there are days I don’t go to sleep until 2am. Even when I’m so tired and really want to go home, you look at your boss, the governor, still awake, energetic and asking questions. This does not stop him from calling you at 7.00am for more information! Here, it’s work and work. I have learnt to juggle things and like other women in Nigeria, I cope.
“Fortunately, my children are not here but my husband is and I still have to be the woman he married 20 years ago. Luckily, he is very understanding and not intimidated in anyway. He is not one who will put me in the shadow,” she said.
Now, let’s talk style with Adeosun. She warned that she is not as fashionable as most people think. “First, know that I’m not a designer freak. My style is easy and I wear what I am comfortable with. I don’t go for labels either. It doesn’t do anything to me. I thought I liked jewellery but now that I’m in Nigeria, I know I don’t. I could wear one for a week while some change theirs everyday! I love it when they do but I can’t do it. With me, it’s simplicity- no nails and minimum make-up. I am comfortable being me. Though I am more conscious of my appearance; I make my hair often, wear more of suits and tie Iro and Buba unlike when I was in London, I still believe in moderation.”
Any time for leisure? She answered in the affirmative but with a clause: “I juggle things to have time for my family but that robs me of my social life. I hardly attend parties. But I still write, read and spend quality time with my family.”
