In the anti-Catholic mind: if I say the Psalmist was not praying, I will sound silly. If I say the Psalmist was praying, it would mean the Catholics are right to ask for intercession. I will rather beat around the bush or change the topic.
Psa 148:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
Psa 148:2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

I suppose you think the psalmist was praying to the sun and moon too.

Psa 148:3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.

The psalmist was writing his thoughts, on this ocassion about the LORD deserving the praise of all of his creation.

Psa 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created.

Read the whole psalm and who knows, you might understand?

Ha! Syncan! It seems that we Catholics (Jesus, the four living creatures and us) don't know how to pray.

What are we going to do? See below.

Matt26:44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.

Rev4:8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

“‘Holy, holy, holy

is the Lord God Almighty,’[b]

who was, and is, and is to come.”
The Angels never stop praising God, saying day and night "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty"

good on them.

To God it is praise,
to you it is repetitous praying.

Hahahaha, now he asks how saying Our father is the right way to pray. Did Jesus tell you how many times you should say it? Just take a look at the bold, do you know you just said that Jesus did not pray well in the garden of Gethsemane? lets see what happened there Matt. 26:44 "And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words". Did you see that Jesus spent his time in the Garden saying same thing? Yet you have the audacity to tell Jesus that "Prayer isn't reciting same thing over and over again". Ok, make I just dey observe you.
Mat 26:42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Jesus understandably asked the Father that request three times that night, and not all at the same time, and you say blasphemously that He was praying repetitiously, when Jesus Himself said that type of prayer was of the heathen.

Mat_6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Thank you for agreeing that the Psalmist told the angels and the hosts to praise the Lord. At least it means you agree that angels and hosts can pray, for praise just like supplication are forms of prayers. If any one can Pray, such a one can praise, such a one can Petition, such a one can supplicate for another. The Psalmist asked them to praise the Lord, why? for he the psalmist feels the goodness and greatness of God, so he is simply telling them to Praise God for him, just same way some people (not you) asks their brethren to praise God for them. What is wrong with that, it is scriptural not so? Was the psalmist praying in that passage or not.
Twisting what I said may make you feel good but it doesn't help you at all.
Jesus gave an example of how to pray, that is what He was asked,

Our Father who art in Heaven....We pray to the Father
Hallowed be thy name.... we acknowledge His Holyness
Thy Kingdom come....we show we long for his kingdom
Thy will de done on earth as it is in heaven...we acknowledge He is in charge
Give us this day our daily bread....we ask Him for our needs
forgive us our trespasses as we forgive our debtors...we ask for forgiveness of sins, we don't ask man.
lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil....ask his protection
etc.

I say again the psalmist asked the angels and other Heavenly beings to praise God,
he didn't ask them to praise God for Him, the psalmist is very capable of doing that himself.

Christianity Etc › Re: The Fool Say There Is No God. by johnw74: 4:12am On Jul 04, 2015
malvisguy212:
Christians often cite Psalm 14:1 as a
rebuke of atheists.However,the Hebrew
word translated "fool" doesn't have the
same connotations as the English word.
The passage actually says that we are all
foolish.

Psalm 14:1 is the verse that a lot of
Christians like to quote to atheists,
believing it is a rebuke of their atheism.
However, if we look at the entire
passage, we see a different picture:

Psalms 14:1-3: The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. (2) The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. (3) All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

Christians usually only quote the first
half of Psalm 14:1, as if it is a slap in the
face to atheists. Is this really a verse
against atheism?

FOOL'S CHARACTERISTIC.
The second half of verse 14:1 says "They
are corrupt, their deeds are vile." At first, you might think that the "they" are those who disbelieve in the existence of God.
However, the end of verse 14:1 says
"there is no one who does good." One
might still think that the verse is referring to atheists. However, Psalm 14:2-3 make it clear that as God looks down on all people, He can find none who are not corrupt, emphasizing it with "not even one."

The Hebrew word translated "fool" is
nâbâl, which is an adjective having the
meaning of "stupid, wicked" or "vile
person." It comes from the root verb
nâbêl, which means "to fall away,"
"figuratively to be foolish or (morally)
wicked" or "causatively to despise,
disgrace: - disgrace, dishonour." So, the
Hebrew word nâbâl refers more to bad
moral character rather than just being
stupid. He is foolish because he thinks
God will not notice his bad behavior
.
In the case od Psalm 14:1 the person is a fool mainly because he-she doesn't believe in God,
and not just because of bad behaviour.
Psalms 14:1 The fool says in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

WHO IS THE FOOL?
The passage makes it clear that God can
find nobody who does good or even tries to understand God's ways. From God's perspective, not one person attains His standard of moral behavior. So, God sees all of us as fools. We all like to compare our behavior to that of others. Example!! When I was still a sinners(atheists)I was morally superior to most Christians. However, I was still not measuring up to God's moral code.

HOW TO MEASURE UP.
Unless you think you can lead a perfectly moral life, God has a solution for your problem. God's solution is to allow you to trade your moral imperfection for the moral perfection of Jesus Christ. The trade is accomplished through faith in Jesus' sacrifice as payment for your sins. The offer is really generous, but will cost you your self-righteousness. No, you can't remain an atheist either. As the psalmist says, you must "seek God."

CONCLUSION
The fool says there is no God. But, he is
not foolish because he is an atheist
That's a contradiction.

, but
because he thinks he can get away with
bad moral behavior. Psalm 14 goes on to say that all people are corrupt and there is not even one who does good. So, God says that we are all immoral fools. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we He can measure up to the moral perfection required by a Holy God. So what the verse is saying is DON'T BE A FOOL AND THINK YOU CAN MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN.
Atheists are fools for not believing in God, God's inspired word says so.
Just read MizJanet's posts and see for yourself.

So that's why you couldn't respond to a simple " Hope you're doing ok" from a Catholic. Well done o.

I am glad that even the poster you hailed, mentioned that the Lord's Prayer is said a number of times in that particular devotion he chose to attack. Catholics direct their prayers to God, they even call on their brethren on earth and in heaven to pray to God, sometimes in supplication, sometimes in praise and thanksgiving. When they say Psalm 148 for example they say ""Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his host!" This is prayer isn't it? Yet it calls on angels and saints to pray to God. Same way when they say the Hail Mary, they call on Mary to pray to God, "...Pray for us sinners..." they say.
@bold,
How does saying an Our Father after saying 10 hail marys make it a right way to pray?
Prayer isn't reciting the same things over and over, prayer is talking to God, having a conversation with Him.

Christians have a personal relationship with God, they don't pray to human beings who have died to pray to God for them.

@underline,
the psalmist tells the Angels and Heavenly host to praise the Lord,
the psalmist did not tell the Angels and Heavenly host to pray to God for Him,
a big difference.

praying is talking to our Father as if we were talking to another human close by that we Love.
