This is the main problem. This should be a reason to protest.

But the Nigerian youths are now allowing themselves to be distracted by Naira Marley's
alleged involvement in Mohbad's death and the politicians will exploit it.

When you see Politicians showing sudden sympathy, just know that they stand to profit something in whatever way.

You are very correct and unfortunately the history of the looting of the Nigerian state is not without the connivance of outsiders. All the stole monies, crude, gold etc ends up in the west and they know it’s source. They are not going to help us unless we help ourselves because it’s not in their interests. That said it doesn’t mean he shouldn’t say it.

That said just talking without attacking it at home is pointless.
Exactly.

The charity should start from home and not in the international scene. I'm not a fan of coups however if Niger Republic can get France and other western power to pay for the uranium being ferried away from them at a competitive rate without resorting to exploitative measures, I'm fine with it.

Africans need to look within and stop trying to curry the favor of the west who never cared about us in the first place.
Politics › Re: Foreign Entities Illegally Mining Nigeria’s Gold, Other Minerals, Tinubu To UNGA by jojothaiv(m): 12:31pm On Sep 20, 2023
I find some headlines on Nairaland misleading, the truth is the illegality runs in the Nigeria system because we have a lot of Judas.

A case in point is Zamfara State gold mine.

Only God knows how many rituals and incantation they criminals have done to silence Mohbad's spirit but his spirit is still fighting for justice. Mohbad's glory is bigger than the glory of any Nigerian musician dead or alive.
Don't argue with me. Only spiritual men understand this.

Politics › Re: FG Still Practicing Quasi-subsidy, Expect Fuel Price Hike – Oil Marketers by jojothaiv(m): 10:01am On Sep 18, 2023
Jessyjeff:
This is not even hidden. Without subsidy, Nigerians would have been paying about 750 - 770 Naira for 1 litr e of petrol since August, when Naira dipped against the USD and crude oil prices started rising.

Since early August, only NNPCL has been importing fuel to Nigeria. Those in government can call it any cosmetic name ( under- recovery, etc), it is still subsidy.

This is why people shouldn't believe what the federal government has been saying. The government is still paying subsidy on fuel and also fixes fuel price; the market is not deregulated for fuel.

Weird part is, whenever they make efforts to defend themselves against marauding bandits, law enforcement agents wade in, dispossess them of their light arms and arrest the ones who resist.

It's like there's just an unspoken plan to completely cleanse the state of a significant percentage of its population.
I had to leave earlier, my immediate brother wasn't lucky though..

I though most of the lands in my place of birth were elevated above sea level and as much, the effect of flooding would always be minimal.
