@OP Make sure u know her so well, try to know if she has learnt from her past cos most of such girls still have some hidden agenda wif their ex-boyfriend. So make sure she is always telling the truth and also very frank. Then ask urself if u really love her, if u think there are still some qualities u see in her that are still very unique to her, then go ahead. Then also make sure she has nothing to do with her past (as I have said before) cos that's the only way u can prove to members of ur family that she is someone very nice. Finally, love her child the way u would love yours, but never think the father is wicked or unfair to her cos surely one day he would come to collect his child (blood is thicker than water) |
OAM4J:The mum left them at home in the morning to the market (herself and her sister), she was healthy then, only to be called at about 4.00pm by the younger one that she is sick. The mum rushed back at about 5pm to discover that her temperature was high, she called their nurse who later gave her some drugs and injection. The temperature later came down and she ate some food but she later complained that the food was hanging on her chest which made her to throw up and later became relieved. Later that night they tried sleeping, she slept in the mums room but the younger one was still watching cartoon in the sitting room. She now ask her mum to go and called her to come and sleep which she did. Before then, she complained of her throat paining her which the mum gave her one drug and 5alive to swallow it and she continued sleeping. It was when the younger sister came to the room that she discovered that she (kiemute) was not breathing well. she ask her ' kiemute y are u breathing like this? she replied while sleeping ' is it my fault? All of a sudden before the mum could notice, she has vomited on her body, the mum quickly got up and tried to know y she did that. She lift her hand and discovered that they are weak, then she knew that something is wrong. She grabbed her and started calling her name nd she was responding and she keep saying that the fan is not turning (while it was) and she needs to drink water. This was about 1pm in the early hours of the morning. They poured water on her and rushed her to a nearby hospital, but when they got there, the nurses could not locate her vein to fix the drip. They also said she does'nt have blood and they adviced that she should be rushed to the general hospital, but she died on the way. A banker, Mr. Pius Effiong, who was injured in a cross-fire between two police teams, has threatened to sue the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly abandoning him at the National Hospital, Abuja. Effiong’s left leg was amputated as a result of gunshot injuries he suffered when two teams of policemen engaged themselves in a shoot-out in error while attempting to rescue a kidnapped victim in March 2010. Six police officers were also wounded during the incident with a few of them losing their eyes and sense of hearing. All of them are still receiving treatment in a hospital. Effiong, 33, said that he was on his way to work when he was accosted by some policemen and arrested on suspicion that he was a kidnapper. He added that he showed the policemen his identity card and explained to them that he was an employee of Think Microfinance Bank Limited, Abuja, but they ignored him. He said he was beaten by the policemen, who bundled him into their unmarked black Toyota vehicle. “As the policemen were driving away, another group of plain-cloth policemen blocked the vehicle and shot at it, thereby injuring everyone in the car. My legs and shoulders were shattered,” he said. Effiong’s lawyer, Afam Osigwe of Law Forte Chambers, said his client was putting on the bank’s promotional T-shirt, while his identity card hung on his neck when the incident happened. The lawyer added that when the second group of the policemen realised their error, they took Effiong and the injured policemen to Asokoro District Hospital and later to the National Hospital. He said during treatment, Effiong’s leg was amputated from the knee due to the damage inflicted by the gunshot. Osigwe said as a result of the long period of absence from work due to hospitalisation, Effiong lost his job with the bank. He alleged that the police refused to contribute further to his treatment despite several letters written to them by Effiong’s relations, lawyers and erstwhile employers. “The permanent disability suffered by Effiong has caused him the loss of amenities of life, while he still suffers from excruciating recurring pains from the injuries,” Osigwe added. But the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Moshood Jimoh, on Sunday said Effiong was not arrested, but was hit by stray bullets during the shoot-out between the policemen who were attempting to rescue a kidnapped victim. He said the police had spent millions of naira on the victim “to the point of taking him abroad for further treatment,” stressing that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr. Haruna John, and other senior officers had visited the banker in the hospital to show their support. Jimoh contended that instead of going to court, Effiong should channel his grievances to the police authorities through the officer that was attached to him. He said, “We did not abandon Effiong. We have spent so much money on him. We have spent millions of naira on his hospitalisation, but if he has any complaint, he should channel it to the authorities through the officer attached to him. “The incident that occurred affected six of our men and a few of them lost their eyes and sense of hearing and they are still being hospitalised. We are doing our best to take care of all of them. These kind of things happen all over the world, even in the military; it is a friendly fire.” http://www.punchng.com/images/December/Thursday/pix201012092491440.jpg http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201012092492164 |
If u watch carefully, u would discover that such spouse always first of all ask for ones opinion but these opinions are never used. So in such case, whenever they sick your opinion or tries to bring out a discussion that would warrant you talking, just keep quiet and if he/she bothers to ask y u are not contributing then tell him/her that even if u contribute, ur opinion would not MAKE SENCE |
did u pre-inform him/her? |
eh eh, my mom and my dad, uh, there is no discussion that both of them are involved in that doesn't lead to quarrel. The painful thing is that they would want us ( the children) to be involved i.e to take side and to my dad, u must take side with him or else big trouble and if u dont interfer in this quarrel, it would result in a bigger one. (maybe my mum might get hurt or something very serious might happen) Sometimes the trouble is so intense that neighbours would even be hearing their voices. I always wonder where my wonderful mum met my terrible dad ( though we have always asked her sha). But the funniest thing is that they have been staying and quarrelling together now for 30years ![]() |

Her name is Comfort Sunday, but she is presently in dire need of comfort. Indeed hers is the heart-rending story of a young girl who was declared a witch and member of a secret cult by some members of her family. Comfort Sunday And in a bid to compel her to confess to being guilty as charged, she was bathed with an acidic substance by her father, James Sunday. As a result, Comfort was not only disfigured but has become a horror figure, a far cry from her former beautiful self. Here she tells her story, while pleading with relevant authorities and indeed all Nigerians to rally to her aid. I am Comfort Sunday; I am 14 years old and in Junior Secondary School 1, Akwanga South. I played volley ball and I am a fast runner. I will like to be a scientist when I grow up. I presently don't have any of my past pictures; I had to tear all of them because they no longer represent who I am. Some two years back, when we were on holidays, my dad said I should go and help my maternal grandfather on the farm. He lives somewhere not far from here. But my grandfather said that he did not need help on the farm at that time. He said I should return after a week or so to help one of his daughters (my aunty) harvest beans. So I left to visit one of my sisters who was staying with my paternal grandfather. I was to spend my holidays there. I stayed for a few days. I returned home one Friday so that I ccould attend a wedding on Saturday before going to my maternal grandfather to help his daughter on the farm. When I came home that Friday, I saw a fresh grave behind our house. I asked what happened and was told that my grandfather who had not been too well, fell ill and died. That it was his grave. I wept so much, because he was a very good Baba to me. He loved me very much. Anything I asked of him, he tried to give me. Then the following day, being a Saturday, my father's sister, Aunty Barmani, came with one pastor from Abuja. She works in Abuja. I don't know what kind of work she is doing. She and that pastor called me. They asked me if I was in the secret cult. I told them that I am not in any secret cult. I told them that I don't know anything about secret cult. Her father believes she's a witch and must die The pastor came with a bag. I don't know what was inside. He asked me several questions, but I told him I don't know anything about what he was asking me. He then called my sister aside. My sister came back and told me that I was in the secret cult. The pastor left that afternoon. Aunty Barmani slept in the house. But, early in the morning, she woke us up for prayers. It was then she told us that I was in the secret cult; that one of my grandfathers who lives at Alushi should come and hear about what she has found out about me. Later, the grandfather came with one of our brothers. Barmani told them that I was the one that killed my grandfather. My father was very angry with me. He ordered me to pack my things from my other grandfathers's house and return home. I did so. After about two weeks of my return, one of my step brothers took ill. His name is Abel, and he is five years old. My father said that I was the cause of my brother’s sickness. But I said I was not the one. The next day, I went to school. But I was very sad, so I returned home. The next morning, around 4 o'clock, my father woke me from sleep. He said that I should escort him to the village. My step mother woke up and ask where we were going, and my father told her that we were going to the village. We left and followed the path that passed through the home of Mary Ewungulu (a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly). As we walked on my father asked me when we would be writing our exams. And I told him it would be next Monday. He was carrying something in a bag. I didn't know what was in the back. We arrived an uncompleted building that night. It was the only building around the place. He then told me that it was the village we were visiting. And I said I have never been to this village. He said I should sit down. At that point I became afraid. He looked at me and shook his head. He then started folding his trousers. He then opened the bag and removed a container with some liquid in it. He poured some in a cup and gave it to me. He said if I was a witch and I drank it I would vomit. That If I was not, I would not vomit. I said I was not a witch. I took the cup. I first tasted it with my tongue and the thing burnt my tongue. So I refused to drink it, and I poured it away. He said I must drink it, but I refused. So he held me and we struggled. I started to run, and he was pursuing me. As I was running, he threw the liquid on my hands and my legs. I felt it burning my skin. I ran very fast, and then I hit something and fell. That was when he reached me. He grabbed and pulled me up, and I started begging him to have mercy on me. I told him that If I was a witch, he should take me to our Reverend Father to pray for me. The disfigured face of Comfort But he dragged me back to the uncompleted building. When we reached there, he poured the liquid on me again. By now my hands and legs were burrning, and my back too. He said I must drink the liquid. I said I would not. He started forcing me to drink, but I refused. He was shouting: “You must drink this"! But I pleaded with him, saying: "I don't want to drink it, please Baba ". When he could not force me to drink it, he splashed the liquid in the cup he was holding on my face. I started shouting. He poured some more on my body and I started running, not seeing where I was going. I opened my eyes, and it was already getting bright. I saw a man riding Okada. I ran to him and begged him to help me. As he was asking me what happened, my father emerged from the bush. I ran back in the direction of the remote house. From there I managed to get back home. When my stepmother saw me, she gave me water to bathed with. I could not talk at this point. My step mother thought that I was beaten. But, some boys around our house told her that it was acid that was poured on me. I don't know who told them. There were some dark, round swellings on my face and body. My father returned home and found me. He called me into the room. When I went in he started to cry. He said that I should forgive him. I told him I had forgiven him. He then took me back to my grandfather at Alushi and left me there. He said he did not want my mother’s people to see the way I was looking. He never visited me again. I don't know how long I was there. But one day, one of my mother's brothers came; his name is Luka. He works at Our Lady of Apostle (OLA) Hospital. He heard what happened so he came to see me. When my uncle saw me, he was very angry. He went to our house and made trouble for my father. He threatened to deal with my father if he did not treat me. The following day, my father came with two men, who gave me injection. I think they were doctors. , Her back also affected But, the growth on my face and body only seemed to increase the more. Then one retired doctor came again, gave more injections and rubbed the places with engine oil. I felt no improvement I was taken to a pharmacist who gave me another injection. The next day I was taken to one Sister Franka. She is a Police woman. She was to pray for me. The woman told me that I was a witch; that I was a wicked person. While, there, our most senior sister, Alice who is a teacher, came there. I don't know the name of her school. She said that if she ever saw me at home, she would not allow me go to sleep; that she would pour petrol on me and burn me. I ran to one Ibo man who is a pastor by name, Pastor Chukwu. His house is on the way to Wanba. I told him about my problem. He said that if he allowed me stay with him, people may start gossipping about it. The pastor, however, went to our Reverend Father and told him about me. The Father promised to help treat my wounds, but told the pastor to take me to the police station. At the station, the pastor wrote down what happened to me.My father was invited to station. He was put behind the counter. My father spoke in our language and told me not to say that he poured something on me. But one of the police men happen to come from our area and understood what he said. He was very angry. He told the other police men what my father said. They started beating my father and later locked him up. Tashi N Tashi father The police men said that I should call any of my mother's relations. So, we called Luka. The DPO said that Luka should take me with him. But, Luka was also angry. He said that my father never allowed me to visit him. That my father had killed my mother when I was small. That my father should just go on and kill me too. I had to return home. But my father was eventually taken to Lafia Police Station. He later returned. I was told that one of his nephews who is a lawyer, stood bail for him. I have forgiven my father because it is good to forgive people. But I want to go back to school. Please tell the government to help me. I want the public to help me too. I don't want to live like this. All attempts to meet the father for his side of the story were not possible, as he played hide-and-seek with Vanguard Metro team. When Vanguard Metro visited the Divisional Police Headquarters, Akwanga, its Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Mr Damon Peters (SP) confirmed the case. He told Vanguard Metro that the case was brought to the Station before he was posted to Akwanga. He brought the case file, and corroborated all that Comfort told Vanguard Metro. On why the suspect was still moving free, he said: "The case is now with the Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia. I cannot say he is free of the charges yet. But, this Station has no more hand in that case. The only place you can get more information is in Lafia". http://odili.net/news/source/2010/nov/29/320.html

By Jimitota ONOYUME PORT HARCOURT: Ngozi whose age was put at 27 thought she had found her heart throb. She was in love; every other thing probably came second in her world while her lover, Victor who was said to be in his mid- 30s took the first position. He meant everything to her. She demonstrated this in her actions and utterances because she lived and laboured for him. Her world apparently revolved around Victor. But like the saying goes, you only know those you love, you don’t with all certainty know those that love you. That was the story of Ngozi. Convinced that she had found her Mr Right she probably became blind to any observation from a third party on the relationship when it contrasted with her feeling and understanding of what she was into. In economic terms, she played the role of a man in the relationship. She sold vegetable for a lady at a spot styled Fruit Market on Kaduna Street in Port Harcourt to eke out a living. Nobody could really say how she met her lover but Ngozi rented a small apartment, not the size of a standard one-room, on Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt. The apartment was probably what her meagre take home from hawking vegetable for her employee at the Fruit Market could afford. Her lover allegedly painted the picture of a homeless young man before her. So she accepted his plea to live with her in the poorly ventilated and lighted room. While Ngozi would wake up in the morning and head straight to her vegetable business, neighbours around said Victor would hang around the compound till noon time and then take a stroll out to no specific place only to come back in the evening when Ngozi would have been back. Ngozi on her way back would buy some food items for meals at home. They would eat and sleep off. It became the routine neighbours were aware off. On May 27 this year, the story changed. They both came in that Thursday evening. According to Victor she prepared food, they ate after which “I had marathon sex with her”. Later she slept off. He said in the midnight he stealthily opened the door to get a rod and came back in. The rod on his right hand, he looked at her cheerful face on the bed and the thought of killing her flooded his mind. He said he raised the rod to hit her but suddenly as if she had a sign, she shifted on the bed, apparently to change her sleeping position. This caused him to wait a while to thoroughly observe if she was awake. Satisfied that she was in deep sleep, her lover said he raised the rod and brought it down very hard on her head. From her sleep, the girl screamed “Jesus”. And quickly he went for her neck, the intention being to complete the job by strangling her with one of her clothes lying on the floor. He said he applied his weight on a pillow he had already used to cover her nose and mouth. And gradually his lover gave up the ghost. After killing her, he remained with the corpse in the room till morning when he was sure the main gate in the compound would have been opened. Quietly, he locked the door and sneaked away. A day after, being the 29 while the nation was marking its democracy day, he resurfaced in the compound this time with a taxi driver. He went to the room, forced the remains of his deceased lover into a waste bin but he had difficulty in doing this because of rigor mortis had set in. He had to rush out to get a big bag and forced the corpse into it. And assisted by the taxi driver they deposited it in the boot of the car. It is not clear if the taxi driver knew what was in the bag. Together they drove to a burrow pit on Ada George area to dump it. Before he left with the big bag neighbours were already getting suspicious that something fishy was going on. When they asked him of his girl he said she was on admission at the state owned Braithwaite Memorial Hospital. One of the neighbours told the Vanguard Metro that when he zoomed off with the taxi he quickly ran to the female ward at BMH to verify if she was truly admitted there. He said he combed the hospital for her but could not find her. So when he came back he told his other neighbours about his suspicion. They had to peep through the window into her room and what they saw on the floor rattled them. “There was blood everwhere. And quickly we concluded that he had killed the girl,” he said. Meantime, after disposing the corpse, Victor came back to clean up the room. As he stepped into the apartment the neighbours again demanded to know the whereabouts of his girl friend. This time he sensed that they were becoming suspicious and he took to his heels. Already the landlord of the compound had been alerted on phone about the development. And he had instructed that the neighbours should hold him pending when he returned from his business place. Like a wounded lion, Victor ran for his life. At a point he shook off those chasing him. The landlord who does not want his name in print said when he got to a junction close to his house he saw some of those he asked to hold the suspect. They told him that Victor had escaped. While they were still rubbing minds on what next to do he said Victor was sighted some metres away running towards their direction. Under his instruction they all ducked behind his car And as the Victor ran close to the spot they pounced on him. Some security men around the traffic light stepped in immediately, threatening to shoot Victor after he confessed to the murder. He told the gathering there that he did not regret his action. When asked why he killed the girl, he told the crowd that it was because his late lover was always buying cheap clothes for him with her money. The clothes, according to him, made him appear shabby before her whenever they went to church on Sundays. He said he would have fled after killing her but he had to come back to dispose of the corpse because he did not want the family of the deceased girl to perform any ritual on it that would make her ghost to start haunting him. He later led the crowd to the burrow pit where he dumped the corpse. Those around had to exhume the corpse which was already fast decomposing. It is not clear how the case is being handled at press time but Vanguard Metro gathered that Victor was in prison custody. Nobody could say if he was being tried or if he was remanded in custody on account of his confession. Meanwhile, some people who spoke to the Vanguard Metro on the incident said they alerted rights groups in the state when it happened but they were disappointed by their lack of response. “They did not show any interest probably because there was no donor agency fund for such. This is why I disagree with most of them when they say they are fighting for the people because they only come out when they have donor agency funds on an issue,” one of them lamented to the Vanguard Metro. From all indications, the yearnings of those familiar with the incident is that justice should be done on the matter. “It is possible the family of the deceased may not have the means to pursue justice on this matter but it should not be traded with,” one of them said.

No matter what the little girl has been passing through, I still think she is too small to have such a heart. If we observe life, we would discover that adults are more prone to depression compared to children. Children doesnt really keep things in mind to a great extent. The child here has a devilish heart, considering the things she had done in the past and now the present. Even adults with their wicked heart may not go to this extent |

What could make an 11-year-old girl bury her aunt's baby alive? That's the puzzle which residents of a Lagos settlement, called Aboru, are trying to figure out. The story of Shekinat, the girl in the eye of the storm, raises curiosity, reports SAMUEL AWOYINFA (L: R) Shekinat, Usnah and Mr. & Mrs. Badmus In what seems to be a scene from a horror movie, 11-year-old girl, Shekinat, on Sunday November 14, buried her aunt's baby, 18-month old Usnah, in a shallow pit beside a soak-away pit in an uncompleted building in Aboru, Agbado/Oke Odo Local Council Development Area, Lagos. Usnah, a baby girl, was in that pit for four days, hanging between an opening space between the excavated pit and the soak-away wall, with her head acting as a hook that suspended her body. The whole neighbourhood of Pipeline Road and its environs were said to have been thrown into confusion as the sad news of the missing girl spread like wild fire during the harmattan. The parents of the baby, Mrs. Barakat Badmus and Mr. Nurudeen Badmus, were simply inconsolable as they searched the bush and isolated buildings around their residence on 19, Pipeline Road, Aboru, looking for their only child. She was later found in a pit, covered with leaves and rags, four days after the baby had been missing. When Usnah was finally found in an uncompleted building beside her parents' abode, her parents were apprehensive. Was she still alive? If yes, in what state of health would she be by now? Questions; and more questions, begging for answers! Mercifully, dark-skinned Usnah was alive! However, she has suffered bruises in both ears, which portrayed the position she stayed for those four agonising days, at the mercy of the elements. How did Shekinat perform this wicked act? Badmus said that on that particular Sunday, himself, his wife and baby went to bed around 9:00pm, while Shekinat was left in the sitting room, which also served as her sleeping space. The first episode that showed that the girl was up to some mischief was said to have happened some minutes after they retired to bed. Badmus told SUNDAY PUNCH, "Shekinat came towards the door of our bedroom, and was trying to enter when I challenged her. She said that we did not close the door properly and that she only wanted to close it firmly. "She came the second time and gave another flimsy excuse. It wasn't until around 11:00pm when my wife wanted to breastfeed the baby that we discovered the baby was no longer on the bed with us." The Badmuses and their neighbours all trooped out that night looking for Usnah. They searched till midnight, yet there was no baby like Usnah in sight. All this while, Shekinat was also said to have denied knowing anything about the whereabouts of the baby. According to Badmus, Shekinat was only punishing her aunt for rebuking her for her misdemeanor. On the Saturday preceding the day of the incident, Badmus discovered that a sum of N800 was missing where he kept it in his trousers pocket. He had asked Shekinat about the missing money, but she denied ever knowing anything about it. But later, he said, Shekinat and one of her friends in the neighbourhood, named Basirat, came forward to say they had found the money under the bed. Shekinat's aunt, Barakat, who was away when the incident involving money happened, was said to have reprimanded Shekinat by giving her some strokes of the cane. Badmus told our correspondent that perhaps that stealing Usnah was the only way she could get back at her aunt for rebuking her. The search for the baby continued till Wednesday, when she was said to have been discovered in an uncompleted building next to their residence. "We had reported the case at two police stations. We reported at Oke-Odo police station and one other one around here," Badmus informed. Usnah was said to have been found around 1:00pm, already weak and tired. She was later taken to a hospital, Yaks Healing Centre, on 7B, Ola Mummy Street, Aboru, which is about 500 metres from her parents' residence. When our correspondent visited the hospital on Wednesday evening, the doctor was treating her, with her parents and other relations surrounding her bed. She was put on a drip, following which she fell into a deep sleep. The doctor and the nurses pleaded that she be left alone to rest. The landlords and residents could only exclaim: "It is only God that could do this (that is, sustain the child for four agonising days without food or water)." Her parents, who are staunch Muslims, could not agree less. "I thank God that no dangerous reptiles bit her within those four days. Besides, heavy rains fell on Monday and Tuesday; so, her being alive is simply a miracle," her father stated. Another visible unsavoury experience Usnah suffered is that her body and hair were covered with mud. Badmus told our correspondent on Wednesday that it took profuse pleading from him and his wife before Shekinat, who they brought in to live them only a month ago, confessed that she took the baby and gave her to someone living on the same street with them. "It took a lot of pleading and cajoling before Shekinat confessed that she gave the baby to a man living across the road," he said. And that man was Mr. Murtala Osaye, who is the landlord of 10, Pipeline Road, in the same Aboru. But Shekinat changed her story 24 hours later, exonerating Osaye of the crime and mentioning an imaginary young man dressed in a blue T-shirt and jeans trousers. But that wasn't before Osaye has been detained at Oke-Odo Police Station for almost 48 hours over the incident. "I was arrested by the men of Oke-Odo police station on Monday and released on Tuesday," Osaye told SUNDAY PUNCH at his residence on Wednesday, expressing his frustration at not being able to slaughter his Sallah ram and celebrate with members of his household. He further told our correspondent that the policemen searched his house and did not find anything incriminating there. Shekinat added another dimension to her bag of lies when she allegedly said that "the young man to whom she handed the baby disappeared as soon as he collected Usnah from her." The 61-year Osaye, who is a landlord in the area, said he didn't know Shekinat until she told lies against him and he was arrested. Narrating how the baby was found, Badmus said that it was on a second thought that he and an Islamic cleric, who came to offer prayers for the family on the sad incident, went to the uncompleted building, where they heard agonising shrieks from the direction of the soak-away. "We had to break some portion of the soak-away before I could lift my baby out of the hole," Badmus recounted with smiles demonstrating his relief. Usnah's mother, Barakat, said that Shekinat was her elder sister's daughter and that she did not deserve the kind of torture the girl gave her. "I never knew I had committed a crime by correcting her. Again, I never treated her badly," she said with a tinge of regrets. Shekinat is said to have history of bad stories trailing her. Badmus explained that she was said to have thrown into the bush the handsets and keys of another aunt of hers in Ibadan when that aunt reprimanded her for untoward behavior. At press time, Shekinat was still being held at Oke-Odo police station. The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Frank Mba, when contacted on Thursday on the matter said: "I'm aware of the incident at the Oke-Odo police station, but I cannot comment on it now. I am on my way to attend a meeting on the Island (Lagos Island)." http://odili.net/news/source/2010/nov/21/856.html
