No you don't need to go to Abuja, you can start and complete the process yourself...just go to CAC website and register with your email address...

After that you submit 2 names and pay a search fee of about 700Naira

If the names are approved you can then commence the registration process.

All payments are made online

Make sure you save copies of all online receipts you receive

Items you need:
Valid means of identification

An operational email account

A passport photograph

A certificate of competence in the field of area of the type of business you want to register

Your debit card with at least 11K for making payments

You also need access to a scanner cos there is a form you will fill online then later you print it then scan and upload after you have affixed your passport photograph and appended your signature

The whole process can be completed in about 1 week assuming you do everything properly and do not get a query.

NB- When filling the forms there is a section that asks if you need extra copies of certificates and documents, leave this blank. If you request for an extra certificate your fee will be higher.

After scanning the documents you want to upload make sure you name them appropriately so the CAC official who will process your application will not have difficulty identifying them

If you are based in Lagos I will recommend that you select Alausa as your preferred point of collection for your certificate of business name registration

With due respect to everyone's opinions; i think whipping a child is tantamount to child abuse and a centimetre shy of slavery.

The average Nigerian child experience their first abuse in the hands of those that should protect them. I might get insulted for this but ever wondered why the average Nigerian is so aggressive? If you disagree with them, they retort to insults? Even wondered why the average Nigerian is very afraid of telling the truth?

It all boils down to upbringing like the one we saw in the video posted earlier. Children are individuals with minds of their own and the best way to raise a child is to win that mind over with any means but intimidation and force.

We have to break the cycle of Abuse!!
We must evolve to a better and greater society!
When you flog a child, you are not teaching them to not repeat same mistake, you are teaching them to make sure they don't get caught!


I challenge every Nairalander to take a different discipline approach this week! If your child mess up, call him or sit, sit them down and explain to them why what they did is wrong and why they must never do it again!! Give them one week punishment of dish washing and take away their phone or game or whatever they really enjoy with the promise to return when they behave better!!

Sorry to bother you guys it my first post here. Just want some advice though. I have been dating my girlfriend for a little over a year now and we have been bonding and growing well. I would say we have a fairly healthy relationship. I don't want to go into details of what I have done for her or she done for me but. I can assure you I make sure she doesn't lack any basics.

Recently I wanted to use a nice picture of hers for a profile so I ask for her phone and asked for her gallery precisely cos she passwords every single app on her phone including her pic gallery. She opened it and handed me the phone. As I was going through I saw a picture she took in a very posh room white bedsheets, posh hotel like furniture she wore a big t-shirt she normally use to sleep and just inner tights shorts.

I asked her immediately where was this cos we see almost every other day. I looked at the date of the picture and saw that it tallied with the time she said she wanted to go stay with her friend that lives alone for one week cos she normally stays with her family.

Rather than answer she collected the phone and didn't talk. I kept asking she now said it was a guy that we both knows room. That she just went to greet him. I knew it was a lie cos the room was mega posh with white bedsheet and the time stamp on the picture was 9.22pm during lockdown time

I have since asked her to let me see the picture again she has refused rather claiming that I am damn to jealous and have trust issues so she won't show me.



What do I do. I am 99% sure the pictures were taken in a posh hotel room.
