Pharoh:
The reality of your first paragraph is the reason sometimes I think is it not better to just give up on the black race. I cannot fathom how the strategy to implement needed reforms will be possible to scale through the existing powers that be.

To your second paragraph, I mean political parties is scraped totally from our polity and only allow individuals to contest for elections at all levels. Landslide victories in our local government and state assembly elections is alarming.
I’ve never actually thought out how it would be if there were no political parties and I’ve never seen or heard of anywhere such has being practiced.

The fact that the present crop of leaders don’t have the will to have an election with individuals contesting without party doesn’t mean it’s not achievable. With the level of awareness that people now have of the leaders, I believe it will someday come to fruition. It may come late but it will come. A time will come that we will have strong individual or group of individuals who can influence them to make such decision.

Who would’ve ever thought a Saraki led senate will be the one to enact the “not too young to run bill” with all the corruption tag surrounding the 8th senate. Also with the crop of young leaders coming up. It’s only a matter of time before we start seeing some who would not want to subscribe to the party shenanigans and they’d push the individual candidate idea.

I believe it was toyed with before this past general election before it was later dropped. I even thought Sowore was going to contest as an individual candidate until the party thing came up.

There is lack of education and awareness on how to hold them to account before we can even be talking about the will to do so. It is very sad and i hope Nigerians can be enlightened to their duties.

If I may suggest and I don't know if it's possible but we don't need political parties. They are just a legitimate association to corner the wealth and suppress the people. It's a conglemeration of the corrupt influential people to pretend they are acting on behalf of the people.

Without political parties it will be more difficult for them to gather together amd exert their influence throughout the polity. It will limit the powers of God fathers only to their own local government.
Your proposal is very great but it’s the same party people that will enact the law but they won’t cos they find protection in the party system.

Even if they allow individuals, they might of the party will always crush the individual.

Pharoh:
Giving local government direct allocation is not being done well like other global best practices as you mentioned. I believe those local authorities in other countries draw budget yearly and plan how to spend these allocations or tax revenue. They have services to offer and alot to manage. To be honest local authorities do alot abroad and it's hard work. I have seen the duties giving to local authroities in our constitution and it's quite okay. My problem is with them not having a yearly budget and plan like the federal and state governments. They should also be open with their books and give yearly account of money spent.
It’s the same process here too but because we don’t hold our leaders to account that’s why the practice keeps eroding. Now we are pushing all the responsibility to the FG.

At the same time we are the ones a shouting that what the FG takes up is too much that they should hand some to the State. If we cannot hold our local leaders to account then how do we expect to hold leaders at the federal level with so much power to wield to account?
PoliticsRe: NUT Kicks Against Direct Allocation Of Funds To Lgs, by jomoh: 9:35pm On Jul 04, 2019
That is why you should elect those you can trust to have your interest at heart.

Don’t push the responsibility of your inability to elect a credible representative, as your local government chairmen, to the FG.

Elect good leaders and let FG do its work. The FG won’t bend the law just because you don’t know how to elect good leaders.

FFK is being dragged on twitter for suggesting Fulani use their cows for ritual through sexual intercourse before selling.

However, most of his followers on twitter found the suggestion absurd and petty, coming from a former minister. One of the commenters even asked how he got past ministerial screening for suggesting such.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Takes Over Nigerian Navy Base On Lake Chad - Sahara Reporters by jomoh: 2:28pm On Jun 30, 2019
SarkinYarki:
Liar this attack happened about 2 months ago and as we speak the naval Base has not been recoevered yet so don't come here and make it look like it's stale
.

4months or 2months, what’s the purpose of reposting the video like news without stating that it is 2months old.

Bokoharam videos are meant to be propaganda to turn masses against the government.

So is Sahara reporters promoting Bokoharam’s propaganda agenda by reposting the old video as news just to generate anger from unknowing masses against the government?

Or

What exactly does Sahara reporters intend to achieve by reposting an old video that they themselves had posted in the past and presenting such as fresh news?

Going through the accompanying article, they conspicuously added 26th and 27th without stating the so that people will believe it happened just 3 to 4 days ago.

Is this not pure mischief?
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Takes Over Nigerian Navy Base On Lake Chad - Sahara Reporters by jomoh: 2:23pm On Jun 30, 2019
Mahsums:
Sad
But this an old news
This is he problem. When we say bokoharam wat is beyond just soldiers fighting, this is what we mean.

Boko haram videos are meant as propagandas to weaken the spirit of the soldiers, the masses and turn them against the government. Now when Sahara reporters have decided to promote the same old video more than once in an attempt to sell news knowing fully well that most people won’t know that it’s an old video.

Then, can we safely say that Sahara reporters is helping Boko haram to promote their propaganda? Or Sahara reporters/omyele Sowore are boko haram apologists?

Will spread such falsehood and people will also believe him.
In the same message you contradicted yourself. Can’t you see you’re confused?

First you claim the prophet(SAW) copied everything from bible and the Torah. Subhanalahi

Then in the same comment you said how can someone who knows nothing about the Torah and the Bible talk about it.

So my own question is if the prophet(SAW) knows nothing about the Torah and Bible like you said, how come he copied them at the same time?

Or

If the prophet(SAW) copied the Torah and the Bible, how come he doesn’t know anything about them?

You’re confused man. Pray to Allah to show you the right path and remove the confusion from your eyes.

LiteratureRe: Olaokun Soyinka Writes Tonye Cole Over Airplane Seat Saga Of Wole Soyinka by jomoh: 10:39am On Jun 27, 2019
Buckubuck:
You have always shown intelligence from ur opinions. I believe you're misinformed. Let me set it straight.

1. Soyinka's confrat was not the cult as we have it today. Most western universities have such confrats that have existed hundreds of years. They exist to further academic frontiers and social justice. That the confrats were abused and later turned to killer squads is not of Soyinka's making. The blame should be at the feet of the VCs of the universities who encouraged the violent groups.
2. The FRSC was a again a very good idea by soyinka which has been abused by government's ineptitude. I remember in the early nineties, the squad leaders in states were either ex-servicemen or retired police officers. FRSC helped in restoring normalcy on our roads then and were highly professional. That they've been affected by the cancer of corruption can't be blamed on soyinka.
3. I like many other Nigerians also supported buhari in 2015 due to the obvious ineptitude of Jonathan. Having said that, I may agree with you that buhari having failed, Soyinka should have withdrawn from supporting him.
Buhari’s failure is up for contention. WS has seen it all in this country. He knows which one failed and which one succeeded. He also knows withdrawing his support for Buhari does not necessarily mean he’s supporting Atiku but it would mean PMB has lost a very huge voice and that will hand a certain advantage to Atiku.

Remember he knows Atiku quite well. He is one of the few Nigerians that Atiku respect so much and doesn’t take for granted. He is the one that revealed the course of the rift between Atiku and OBJ been the person OBJ called to help persuade to Atiku (during the 2003 election preparation) out of the knowledge that the only person Atiku respects so much is Wole Soyinka.

So for Wole Soyinka to have chosen PMB over Atiku is a message to all of us that Nigeria has dodged a bullet. That the PMB people called a failure is still better than whatever will come from Atiku’s camp.

I think this issue is being overflogged.
Let's analyse the players:

Prof. W.S;
He is over 80 years, so it is very possible that he took that seat by mistake
If it was deliberate and he prefered window seats for obvious reasons, he should have planned it better-Ask for the seat during booking, most airlines would be happy to indulge him.
He didn't see it as a big deal so he got up. There's absolutely nothing petty about WS.

Bobo Fine;
He is young and probably exuberant and may not have recognised or even known WS
He may have gone the extra mile to get a window seat
He is opinionated and non-conventional
We don't know his story (no one actually knows this guy's story so we can't keep judging him). He might have a condition, he might have been unstable, goodness knows!
He was operating within his rights so he actually commited no crime.

Tonye Cole:
Was okay to have tried to reason with Bobo Fine but should have stayed out of it after the incident.
Had no business uploading that picture.
Probably did it to trend and gain national popularity for his Guber ambition.

Nigeria:
There's already the underlying issue of lawlessness and lack of regard for orderliness.
There's also the issue of the elders' demand for respect and their sense of entitlement.
Also, many Nigerians will rather go sentimental and more often than not, the real issues are left unaddressed.

Me:
I totally totally adore Prof. Wole Soyinka, I've read almost everything he has published and his views and policies resonate with me. I will consider it a privilege for him to have my seat on a plane (deliberately or mistakenly).

That said, If i catch any unidentified elder on my seat, you will surely have to 'gbe bodi' but i will definitely demand it very politely.

It's not really about respect. I have maximum respect for senior citizens. I defer to ladies, children and the elderly.

I just think we have to restore order and enforce some basic social principles so that this country can have a good shot at working.
Funny enough the young man may not even be a Nigerian. He may not even know who WS is and if he does, we don’t understand the mindset of the young man too.

In all, I blame Tonye Cole for all this and I’ve lost my respect for him. A grown up should know when to keep quiet and mind your business but like you rightly said the old nonentity wanted popularity because of his governorship ambition.

Supreme Court judges? Haaa.

I don’t trust anyone in this country o but i honestly don’t pray this is true for whatever reason.

Please God, whoever is doing such or planning to do such help us change their minds and defeat them but if they’re so consumed with the devils work, destroy such person(s) from our polity and if it’s all lies intended to chase clout and whip up sentiments God Almighty, help us lead such person(s) to the straight path by defeating them and destroy who ever came up with such idea if they’re so consumed by hatred and mischief.

My Broda, when I heard the analysis of Boko haram insurgence I weak. For nigeria to control that insurgence it will take not less than 3 administrations dedicated to human development and poverty eradication 8years each. Also the customs and immigration have to work very hard on it.

The only other way to make it short is to find a way to keep eliminating their high ranking member in other to avoid transmission of power and continuation of the ideology.
