After few accidents we had in marine transport, the gov of TZ has poured a lot of cash for new vessels.So the demand is too high,local manufacture don't have time for tiny orders from Rwanda or Ug.Don't forget, TZ has a lot of lakes more than any nation in Africa.

FYI, Tanzanian gov buys from anyone.If you bid for something in Tz, and u win openly why not taking you? We are fighting corruption. We can't allow bidding processes to go secretly. The reason we buy from Kenya was the price.it was a good buy.
Here in Tz, we have many many shipbuilders( locals). Here are some from just songoro shipyard..

When Nigerian receives FDI, they take it in reasonable amounts that they are sure they can use effectively or repay if needed. We don't take things anyhow without planning ahead of time.
But the east and southern parts of African, are taking money recklessly without having much to show for it.
