TEAM OCTOBER 2018 Let's come out and make some noise. Have you taken your early morning walk? ANC is now on a weekly basis so feel free to ask questions from your Dr. Check what facilities they have to cater for a jaundiced newborn, take a look at their NICU, blood bank etc. We won't need it by God's grace but we need all the reassurance we can get. I'm sure bags are packed. Don't forget to get a wrapper as that would be most comfortable the first few days. Have you been cleaning your nipps? Scrub those dark and crusty stuff off it, we don't want baby ingesting it. I'm sure you have all downloaded the contraction timer app. A very big congratulations to our newest mummies, ngsoundz, Zaynie, Aitee1, may your babies bring joy to your family at all times. Chaiii Zaynie mama, i missed the announcements. Thank God for your life and that of Akorede. Detailed BS you got there. Remaining October mamas. The Lord will make it easy for you. The Forerunners. Thanks to all the mamas that contributed on my baby's circumcision. In other news, I'm heartbroken ![]() So today is our baby's naming and i already preinformed my photographer. She's my friend from way back university. Shot our wedding, and our dd's 1st birthday. We are close. We sealed the deal earlier this week and as at this morning, i got a whatsapp msg from her that she was on her way. There was supposed to be a photo session in the house before going to church for the naming and coming back home for the reception. How i love photography. I hurried everyone to have their baths and got my kids outfits ready so there won't be any flop. 8:03 was the last time i heard from her. I was agitated and kept in ringing her two phones, twas switched off. At the dieing minute, we didn't have plan B. I was worried. All through the naming, i couldn't bear the thought of not having the day captured. My hubby sha gave someone his phone to do some small shots but i wanted my professional photography. Her number went through this night only for her to call me back that she entered one chance that morning. Her camera and phone were taken. Far above my disappointment, i felt sorry for her and thankful to God for her life. My baby's naming however went well. The day couldn't be paused, held down or rewinded and this day won't come again and sadly the memories of dis day wasn't captured. Hmmmn. |
My e-family, mamas that have boys, please chook mouth ooo mbok. After my delivery right in the labour room, the nurse that took my delivery told me she does home service circumcision for 5k (the same charged at the general hospital.) Another nurse also came to advertise her services to us that had boys later on. We had already been told at anchor that the circumcision clinic at the hospital only takes 20 slots per day or whatever. The hospital is quite far from home and we don't have a car. So my first thought is to go with the nurse that handled my delivery for comfort sakes. Hubby thinks we should visit the health center near our home but i don't think, those ones will do such cos doctors aren't attached there, all they basically attend to there is headaches and the likes. The issue now is my MIL out of the blues is insisting we go to the general hospital to do it. That it's only doctors (surgeons) that do it. My questions are Is it compulsory we go to the hospital. Is it only doctors that do it What are the pros and cons of having the nurse come over to the house. I don't want to be jumping around the street with a wailing baby. I'll waiting for your responses. Zaynie Liftedhands Sabi mamas |
bayobabe:My teamies dropping babies back to back. Congratulations dear |
HeroesMum:yeah. Congratulations teamie. May she fulfill God's plan and purpose. Amen. |
BlessedDiva:awwwwn. Don't worry dear. Tomorrow is the naming, when the professional pictures come out, I'll leave it here for 24hrs. |
Thanks everyone for the likes and comments. E seun ooo. Trippleblessing.Your testimony has arrived |

BS by Olajumoke aka Joomie Takes a deep breath. Lemme quickly use this golden opportunity to type and submit my B.S as mosquitoes won't let us rest in the ward. My room partner and I have turned to hunters. So in my BFP announcement, i stated back then in January that i got Peggy cos uncle begged one for kpekus before proceeding on a week long white fasting. We didn't bother to check my app for safety. The journey began. MS, spitting. I was blessed with a bump that didn't really show much but the downside was dat People were always asking if i had delivered. First scan revealed edd as 26th September but calculation according to LMP said October 1st so i stuck to that. In my seventh month, my mum had to travel leaving me with my small madam. She dealt with me in a mighty way. The second scan revealed the sex of the baby in cephalic position with oblique lie. I was worried but my consultant allayed my fears. On the evening of Wednesday 26th September, i felt my first contraction but i waved it off. I had it a few times again but then all i kept wondering was could I possibly contact for 5 days cos i was still expecting an in independence day baby. Thursday morning, hubby, small madam and i were in church for special prayers. The contractions kept coming. Got home, bought tomato soup Ingredients and meat for the freezer. Also made ewedu. I put diapers into as that was the only item remaining. Toward evening, the contractions started taking longer than usual so i told hubby to jot down the time for me so i can note the intervals. Some batches were regular then in a whole hour, it didn't come. It was during this period that i was making dinner, billing meat, and my soup. We ate dinner around 8 pm. Electricity was restored so i used my relief period to Check on the laundry i was doing in the machine. Around 10pm, the lights went off. So i had to retire to bed with hopes of continuing the next day. Immediately we got the bed, mama slept off and i was grateful for my alone time to myself. I continue the time jotting. The contractions were getting longer and at 11:26pm, ît got more unbearable and were now 10mins apart. 11:36, 11:46, 11:56pm, i woke DH up. We were finally able to get taxify to get us to the hospital around to 1am. The driver steed acting funny few minutes into the drive claiming his insides were churning as that was the first time he was witnessing someone in labour. Na we still dey Beg bros to calm him down so he could get us to the hospital safe. We couldn't tell if he was drunk or just been a freak. At a point he parked and was forming fainting. Twas me that was that was sha trying to calm him down o. His speeding nko, story for another day. So i had been praying that the strike should not affect my hospital cos even paid in advance. We got there and we met all hands on deck. God bless them all. They were less concerned about the strike as it was business as usual. I was admitted into the labour ward. Nurse checked me and said 8cm. I was so glad and to think i wanted to stay back till morning. Naso my husband for turn to midwife ooo for house. At a point, the labour stalled so i was loaded with drugs till i delivered around 3: twenty something on Friday morning 28th September 2018 weighing 3.0kg wth vagina tears. The love in here is soo real. Thanks for the likes, mentions and wishes. Amen to all said prayers. Mama Zaynie, thanks for standing in, i love your style of roll call.
