Fhemmmy: their means of income has been taking away from them and now where do u expect them to find money to pay for the land, regardless of how cheap it comes This is when the gov't should now mobilize and help them. Not to set them up in Calabar where the standard of living is definitely higher than in rural Cross River's |
Politics › Re: Cross River State Govt Bans Okada - From Nov. 15th by JosBoy4Lif(m): 5:26am On Nov 04, 2009 |
Fhemmmy: learning to farm wont be a problem, as long as the govt is willing to give or lease lands for them, it will be easy as long as the govt is willing to equip them with money and equipment needed to make the farming a job and the govt is willing to help with how to sell the produce both locally and intenationally, else, why messing with their lives Government, government, government, Can't they do subsistence farming in the rural parts where land is cheap and affordable. Not everybody has to live in the metropolis. |

Fhemmmy: how will pple that never touched hoe and cutlass in a long time will now all of a sudden just head to the farm cos they cant afford to feed anymore, like someone said, they will be busy kidnapping all the kidnapables You can learn to farm or I guess you can learn to Kidnap. In fact these unemployed can learn a lot of life skills with all the spare time on their hands. I think it is stereotypical to assume that they will all become kidnappers |

i beleive so, i think sub-saharan africa lacks what they call human capital which translates to mean low IQ. Its quite obvious unless you want to engage in some denial. if you examine the situation, the areas with the smartest people are the most developed places on earth.simple. China and India just to name a few right? |

Fhemmmy: Lol . . .i feel u, but i see no reason why the 2 shd be compared at all. Toh nagode, my sentiments exactly. @ topic, the number of Okada riders in my estimation seems like a farce. How can there be 10% of a cities population http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calabar employed in one service. Lets say half of these riders have families of approximately 4. That means that 20-25% of Calabar will be effected by this massive steep in unemployment. Hopefully these newly unemployed riders will go and farm |

gongo aso: lighter note, perhaps the dogeaters should be concerned, probably less dogs run over by okadas How many wild cows do you eat in a year? Most dog meat is bred strictly for consumption. @ Fhemmmy the connection was made when Osisi said that the cross rivers government should be concerned with banning dog meat aswell |

0sisi: Toshi nwa mama biko jie brake there there is meat and there is meat are Calabar people eating dogs because of poverty? I feel like throwing up as I imagine bingo in a pot dan iska! The Indians feel the same way when they see your privileged ass eating a medium-rare steak. Suggesting that Cross Rivers should ban dog-meat because they have banned okada's in Calabar is just plain arrogant. Dog's have no loyalty to MAN. I repeat dog's have no loyalty to MAN. If you don;t understand why I say this go and read some Pavlov I was upset when the Chinese government banned the consumption of Dog meat during the 2008 summer olympics, what utter hypocrisy. Unfortunately this world is filled with so many of them, 0sisi! |

Politics › Re: Nigerians Should Stop Moaning And Roll Up Their Sleeves by JosBoy4Lif(m): 8:56am On Nov 01, 2009 |
Kobojunkie: A two-year old knows the SOLUTIONS to many of the problems in Nigeria. We do not need to profer solutions. We need to call for IMPLEMENTATION OF already known solutions to the problems. That is what is SIMPLE. Speaking against the ills and calling for the SOLUTIONS to be implemented is what is needed.
The word PROFER assumes we have ABSOLUTELY no clue what the solution to the problem is. That is not now, nor has it ever been the case in Nigeria, or Africa. The whole world knows what the problem is and what the solution is. Sitting back, year after year, pretentiously proffering solutions have led us nowhere. It is time we implement the COMMON SENSE solutions to the problems of the common man now. bibiking1: A bandwagon of charlatans, praise singers and seekers, imperialism lovers and ass lickers. When things are wrong and you sweep them under the carpet to show 'patriotism' and 'optimism' then we only prepare ourselves for a bigger downfall. To hide under the guise of patriotism to challenge those who constantly expose the frailty of the nigerian state reeks of treason. Let us be positive quite alright, but not be blind to the societal ills in the land! La didadida, all talk but what does this amount to absolutely nothing. I asked people to proffer solutions; rather they got caught up in the regular merriment that clouds the average Nigerians judgment. Continue basking in your intelligence while our country continues swimming in filth |

ROSSIKE: Thank you IGWE. And the other thing that we seem to have forgotten in our constant negativity is that by constantly thinking negative, we perpetuate negativity. Thought creates reality. The Law of Attraction will ensure that generalised despondency will only lead to MORE collective failure.
Positivity, hope, and a can-do spirit is what leads to achievement. The wisest thing I have heard on Nl in a while. This self fulfilling prophesy that Nigeria is rubbish and it will never amount to nothing needs to change. We need an entropy that will guide us in the right direction. Think it see it be it. honestly it is that simple, and due to the large intellectual property that we possess in our dearest Nigeria it can all be possible through the positive thoughts of our fellow Nigerians!!! |
