Politics / Re: The Nigeria Second Civil War Is On The Way by JosBoy4Lif(m): 6:48am On Jun 29, 2009
tpiah:

the general idea is to buy, threaten or discredit anyone who doesnt join them.

that way it looks like they have a unified majority and get the opposition silenced.

Fortunately you cannot buy, coerce, or defame individuals into a sense of TRUE unity which our Hausa/Fulani comrades have possessed for centuries.

mr. joshboy4lif
By the way sorry for the rude tone.

Last time i checked the US economy is waaaaaaaaaaaaay much bigger than your economy. 9/11 didn't happen in Canada, and the tech bubble also didn't take place in Canada so comparing both nations is like comparing apples and oranges.

Also, what is a recession? a recession is two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth. So what happens after one quarter of negative economic growth? you slash interest rates to prevent the economy from going into a recession and that's what we did, we had no choice. The slashing of interest rates and the Bush tax cuts is what got us of that severe slump we were in. Also, interest rates are not only used for fighting inflation but for staving off a recession. Look man, when our backs were against the wall, we did what we had to do.

LOL what offer mortgages to people that could not afford them there-by artificially inflating your economy.
Like Sir Isaac Newton says what goes up must go down.
The worst part is that great economist like Paul Krugman had been predicting the meltdown years earlier. But Allan Greenspan would not listen. Guess who won the Nobel Prize in Economics last year?
And you should know the dependence that we have on the US economy. It is said that when America sneezes Canada catches a cold.

Personally, I think he was kinda preaching all the peeps to be wary of. I've been reading Dr Abati's articles for over fifteen years, but frankly, I think he's a lil' outta line on this one. He's getting outta touch with time. He refusing to accept changes that are bound to happen. How could he cheapen "Lagimo" that bad? I'm sure he never bothered to listen to the verses. I think he has a mind set bout our artistes and this generation. . .

Am pretty sure when Abati was in his adolescent days the older generation ,at the time, also believed that the youngsters were rebels without a cause

Politics / Re: Bauchi State Governor To Replace Charles Soludo As CBN Governor by JosBoy4Lif(m): 12:59am On Jun 23, 2009
davidif:

What are you talking about?? The tech bubble (once called the mother of all bubbles) had just burst and we were in a recession, then came 9/11 so the next thing to do was lower interest rates which he did and it kickstarted a sucker rally in the economy. Geez, go and learn economics 101 abeg.
lol am well versed in economics and I also know that countries should not fluctuate their interest rates like the United States has been doing without due diligence. The controlling mechanism should be inflation. not keeping interest rates in a band is disastrous. You should read up on the Bank of Canada's monetary policy and see why we were not as devastated as our American counterparts

ibime,
What do you know about finance or economics. Please stop making dumb comments. In case you didn't know Alan Greenspan is one of the greatest central bankers in history, up there with paul volcker and co. The man left us so many innovative tools to solve the banking crisis that we are in right now. So please BE QUIET.

He is also the same idiot who reduced and subsequently increase interests rates and dilapidated the sub-prime mortgage market by allowing banks to invest huge amounts of of money in mortgage backed securities. If you want to talk about great bankers go no further than Canada's David Dodge.

Politics / Re: Call For Justice. A Nigerian Killed In China by JosBoy4Lif(m): 12:23am On Jun 23, 2009
Ellyptical:

@Kobo,
My Dear, I have on several occasions explained to you that you seem to have an identity crises but your recent behaviour shows that your case may have deepened. While you are known to always try to move against the direction of general opinion, your recent statement on this thread shows how myopic you can be all because you want to say something opposing what every one is saying.
Do not get me wrong. I admire the boldness is takes to speak against the general view but i detest empty and irrational boldness.
Does the poster in anyway support the killings carried out by the Nigerian police? Does the fact that the police commits such offences justify this case in china? Can you prove that nigerians do not cry for justice when a policeman commits a killing? Did you watch the video of the mob action (that resulted in death) carried out on a police man that killed an innocent civilian near churchgate (if i can still recall) in lagos?
You need to rediscover yourself. You are not yourself. The "you" in you is defined by what the environment is saying., meaning that while you think you stand hard and firm, you are tossed around by the slightest wave - though tossed in the opposite direction.
I can bet that if i open a new thread "Call For Justice : Pilice Kills Innocent Citizen" you will jump out and ask
"Why do we not call for action when a citizen is killed in China.
Once again Tracy,
Rediscover yourlself.
You need a psychologist!
Obtigado.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Islam And My Profession - I Need Help by JosBoy4Lif(m): 11:35pm On Jun 22, 2009

you gotta laugh at some of the naiveté on display here. If there was a "wealth of knowledge" in the quran this thread would not have been necessary in the first place.

Yes we are always laughing at yours aswell. Do you remember the colonist enslaved our people using the same "Holy Bible" as justification. Every holy book is open to interpretation more so the Bible than the Quran.
Politics / Re: Muslims That Carry Their Religion Ontop Of Their Head by JosBoy4Lif(m): 7:24pm On Jun 18, 2009
This is exactly what our leaders want. Divide and conquer.
Northerners leaders do not care about Islam or tribalism there only motivation is MONEY/GREED
Southern leaders do not care about religion or tribalism there only motivation is money/GREED
Lets continue hating each other so our leaders can continue robbing us blind
Politics / Re: What Exactly Is Nigeria's Population? by JosBoy4Lif(m): 1:19am On Jun 17, 2009
grafikdon:

No becomerich, you are wrong. It is less than 500,000.

The population of Nigeria is not anywhere close to 120 million, even when you reverse the ''inflation'' and ''deflation'' of the census figures. We also do not have up 100 ethnic groups. Villages, clans, dialects etc are not ethnic groups.
You should take a trip to a middle-belt state

Not to mention that oil transactions are transacted exclusively in Green back.

The dollar will be here for a long time. The Euro possess a threat, but no in the near future.
