greg42: Try to digest the salient points am trying to expound before you delve into argumentative analysis........yes,you should have constructive criticism from credible views but nothing can replace the joy a writer feels when their work is appreciated even if it's by a simpleton Now I'm one who have standard and taste. Never haste to engage in a fallacy. I for one don't appreciate it when peeps who don't know what I'm saying start appreciating what they don't understand. It's the first clear sign of asslicking. 2 Likes |

greg42: Not everyone thinks like this unfortunately. An artist has a flexible point of view.... Artist? Flexible point of view? Are you saying an artist will put his work out for peeps who don't know a single thing about art to criticise? |

greg42: Hold it right there......How is a writer supposed to know if they are doing a good job or not.....so the views are integral to commercial art........lleigh I particularly like your work on the river...keep it up You write and put your work up for criticism, not to see how many people view it. That's why I write poems. All my work are put up for peeps to criticise and point out loopholes, not for me to measure the amount of people who viewed it. You'll see your errors when people who are equally gifted like you or more gifted than you start appraising your work. That's how it started for me. You should do the same too. I strongly advice. |

I would like to write about the history of mathematics but I won't get ten views.
☺ Since you're so particular about getting views, it show you don't like writing, but seek attention from writing. |

DarkSavage: One could actually write about a dumb subject in an interesting manner and beautiful diction. It's the style before the story for me. Yea I know. Most peeps don't bother about writing style, just reading about how a bad husband abused/cheated on his wife and got caught. |

DarkSavage: It is like I mentioned to you sometime ago, when reading up a story full of suspense and intrigues, one may get carried away by the storyline and plot without doing a critical appraisal of the writing style.
It's natural. I remember reading mynd44's thread recently about girls behaving like fishes. Story was enthralling but writeup was just shyly nudging the mediocre mark! All the same, we have good story tellers than good writers in Nairaland. To me, I'm always clear to pick out the message in whatever a person is writing about. It's a no no for me to read something I can't gain from, intellectually. I'm really tired of reading about the pros and cons of relationship. That's what is prevalent here, it's harrowing, I tell you. Nothing worth learning from, like intelligence one can really learn from. 1 Like |

ironkurtain: Pls can u educate me on the difference?, just wanna learn a thing or two Lemme point you in the right direction by mentioning monikers. Be sure to check out their literary skill as you read their work(s)/posts. Postmann, Lezznjr, ishilove, thesonofmark. Check out how this set of monikers write and you'll know what it means for one to wield a pen as if one wields a katana blade like a samurai. |

DarkSavage: I never visit literature section beyond a cursory glance. Most folks there take too weeks or more to write a bastardised version of the works of other mainstream writers and do clever plagiarism with good storyline.
It's always shocking to find same people commenting on other sections when spontaneity is required with less than average writing skills. It's the shame associated with their brain power. I barely, even hardly read any story in this section. Frankly, I don't even read any story here. The OP, in his haste to name writers, overlooked writers who have proven their penmanship here and other section. I find it funny that most writers who write about love, romance and affairs of the heart in this section can't even hold a proper debate in Romance or family section without sounding more foolish than the league of certified morons_ in Romance section. 1 Like |

HungerBAD: These guys never seizes to amaze me.
This Josephine Odumakin should get her priorities right, and stop doing "Notice Me" things.
What has women arise and Kudirat Democracy initiative, have to do with MKO'S graveside?the setting even looks strange,as if they are gathered there worshipping his grave.
Could not find Soyinka's picture,to confirm if he was really there.
These guys could have organized lectures or symposiums,to pass across their message, instead of standing in front of a grave side ,as if they are performing some ancient voodoo initiation rites.
The women arise should have enlightened women, and people more about who Margaret Ekpo and Funmilayo Ransome Kuti were, and their positive impact on the Nigerian woman's life today, instead of this crap. I'm afraid not many who carry the honour of Dr. Reason the way you do. |

ironkurtain: Guys like us who didnt even make the list should go and delete our stories from the literature section then It's not about deleting your story(ies) It's about being a pen man. There's a difference between being a good story teller and being a good writer. |
