Since I’ve been in nairaland for so long many people opposing the Biafran agitation has come up with many arguments why Biafran agitators should drop their agitation. They keep asking Biafrans many questions and they claim Biafrans have no answers to them. First, there are some who really would be open to argue intelligently the pros and cons of the agitations these people are welcomed. Some of the issues they raised are on the following. 1) corrupt leadership 2)attaching of minority tribe 3)Biafra is land locked 4) agitation is a fraud 5) loss of igbo properties 6) they should rather join in restructuring Nigeria 7) economic problems of a new Biafra Biafra will be a disaster just like south Sudan.9) Nnamdi Kanu’s leadership style Etc. I will pick them one by one and give answers . 1) Corrupt leadership will still prevail in Biafra, you must first fight corrupt leadership before you talk about Biafra. Answer. Biafrans are hoping for a better leadership in Biafra land.1) The leadership of IPOB . Although IPOB have not been trusted with any leadership position in Biafra land, Biafrans trust them because of what they have seen. Since the beginning of the agitations till now IPOB leaders have being living a modest lifestyle as opposed to many Nigerian leaders and freedom fighters eg(uwazurike , asari dokubo, etc) in fact Nmandi Kanu is living in his fathers house. This is the kind of leadership will can trust, leadership by example. Ipob through radio biafra has spoken against corruption amongst south east leaders.( I can remember when he was talking bad against T.A. Orji because of the evil he did in abia state.) that is the kind of leadership biafrans trust those who call a spade a spade. Those who have courage to stand against corruption 2) we now know our right and will stand against oppression whether from our leaders or the government. Some people keep asking why not first fight your bad leaders. Our answer is NO. the system is irredeemably corrupt and the leaders are also corrupt. We cannot fight corrupt leaders without fighting against the system. The system makes corruption easier eg. In nigeria, leaders can own properties outside nigeria, or can seek medical treatment outside nigeria , or can send their wards to expensive schools outside nigeria while the masses suffer . Eg protesting against bad policies and being shot by police men and nothing will be done to bring those police men to justice. The corrupt system is making it easy for the politicians to get away with anything they do. the foundation is faulty. We must first dismantle the corrupt Nigerian system before we can effectively tackle corruption. 2) Biafra is setting the right foundation to curb corruption. i read through biafra fundamental principles where it was proposed that office holders will not be allowed to own properties outside biafra land, cannot seek medical treatment outside biafraland except they resign, cannot send their children to schools outside biafraland etc . Biafrans are not saying biafra will be heaven but we have learnt from the Nigerian mistakes. And we will make sure we do not make the same mistakes. 3) Ipob have united our people and have given us courage to stand against our oppressors. We are more patriotic than Nigerians, we are ready to die for Biafra. Patriotism, unity and courage is what is needed to fight corruption. (that is why nigeria cannot fight corruption). we know that our leaders are part of our problems. The system is also part of our problem. We have to fight them both. Because of this. ipob is calling for boycott of elections in biafraland, we will not give our mandate to leaders who haven’t defended our people, starting from the forthcoming Anambra elections. Biafra is not just a fight against oppressive Nigerian government but also against oppressive leadership in Biafra land. 4) If we can stand against oppression in Nigerian not minding the cost make no mistake we can also stand against corruption in Biafra land 5) Generally Nigerian leaders are all corrupt. I have problem when I listen to Nigerians advicing Biafrans that they should first hold their leaders accountable first. Is it not a case of the blind leading the blind? Their leaders are as corrupt as ours. In fact I have not seen any leader of Biafran extraction who have stolen money more than Abacha or OBJ. why the worries, because a corrupt Nigeria is also the same with a corrupt Biafra. 1 Like |

http://m.guardian.ng/news/trump-obama-disputes-spill-into-the-open/ US President-elect Donald Trump stirred a simmering dispute with Barack Obama on Wednesday, accusing him of derailing a smooth transition with "inflammatory" remarks, before appearing to row back. Ever since the November 8 election, Trump and Obama have tried to bury political differences in favor of a united public front that would smooth the transfer of power on January 20. But the Republican president-in-waiting unceremoniously cast any cordiality aside in a morning Twitter tirade from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. In a declaration that is unprecedented in its personal condemnation of a soon-to-be predecessor, the 70-year-old tweeted: "Doing my best to disregard the many inflammatory President O statements and roadblocks." "Thought it was going to be a smooth transition - NOT!" But Trump later appeared to shift focus from his previous comments, stating the process was going "very, very smoothly." Trump said he had spoken to Obama in what he described as "a very nice conversation... appreciated that he called." "I actually thought we covered a lot of territory," Trump said. "Our staffs have been getting along very well and I'm getting along very well with him other than a couple of statements that I responded to. "We talked about it and smiled about it and nobody is ever going to know because we are never going to be going against each other." White House spokesman Eric Schultz said the call "was positive and focused on continuing a smooth and effective transition," adding the pair planned to keep in touch over the coming weeks. Tensions between Trump and the current White House have been growing for weeks as Obama has become more outspoken about a vitriol-filled election that saw Democrat Hillary Clinton suffer a shock defeat. Obama -- who is still the most popular politician in the country -- recently suggested that he may have won a third term were he not constitutionally barred from doing so. That seems to have irked the notoriously thin-skinned president-elect. - Competing claims - At the same time, the pair have competed to take credit for solid economic indicators. After months of talking down the world's largest economy, Trump has tried to take credit for a number of economic developments that are roughly on trend. Trump claimed Sprint was creating 5,000 US jobs "because of me." "The U.S. Consumer Confidence Index for December surged nearly four points to 113.7, THE HIGHEST LEVEL IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS! Thanks Donald," he tweeted late Tuesday, referring to himself in the third person. And Trump announced he would hold in early January a press conference previously set to take place earlier this month to discuss his vast business holdings. The 70-year-old, who is the wealthiest man to become US president, has been beset by accusations of conflict of interest ever since beating Clinton to the presidency. - White House response - While the White House has seethed behind the scenes, there has been little public response to Trump's forays into US foreign and domestic policy before he takes office in less than a month. But tensions reached something of a breaking point after the United States tacitly backed condemnation of Israeli settlement activity at the United Nations. With Washington withholding its veto, the UN Security Council passed a resolution demanding a halt to Israeli settlement building in the Palestinian territories. Trump followed up Wednesday's early tweet with another two taking aim at Obama's policy toward Israel. "We cannot continue to let Israel be treated with such total disdain and disrespect. They used to have a great friend in the US, but......." he wrote. "Not anymore. The beginning of the end was the horrible Iran deal, and now this (UN)! Stay strong Israel, January 20th is fast approaching!" Throughout the long election campaign, Obama made no secret of his disdain for Trump, describing him as ill-informed and unfit for office. But since a landmark meeting in the Oval Office a few days after the election, Obama has tried flattery in a bid to bind Trump to the norms of office. He has praised Trump on a historic victory and made plain that millions of Republican voters would also be hurt if Trump overturns his landmark health care law. Obama has repeatedly vowed to make the transition as smooth as possible. At lower levels, the transition has spluttered along after a slow start that saw many key departments wait for substantive meetings with Trump staff. That is said to have improved in recent weeks, as "landing teams" have begun to work with government agencies and briefing materials have been distributed. The real estate mogul-turned-commander-in-chief is gradually putting together a team that is made up of Republican establishment figures, billionaires, generals and far-right activists. At Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday, he met potential secretaries of agriculture and discussed measures to repeal so-called Obamacare and reform veterans' health care with notable doctors. |

Kelechi Iheanacho now has the best goals-to-minutes ratio of any player in Premier League history, after he scored in Manchester City’s 3-0 win at Hull City on Boxing Day. The Super Eagles forward made it 2-0, finishing off David Silva’s pass to double his team’s advantage. Iheanacho has now scored a goal every 96 minutes in the league, which is the best goal ratio for any player with 10 or more in the league’s history. In comparison, his City team-mate, Sergio Aguero, has scored his 112 Premier League goals at a rate of one every 107 minutes and former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry, scored his 175 Premier League goals at a rate of one per 122 minutes. Iheanacho’s 12th goal for Man City also came from his 19th shot in 38 league appearances. |

http://m.guardian.ng/news/sultan-urges-national-assembly-to-shun-anti-islam-bills/ The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’adu Abubakar has urged the National Assembly and state assemblies to shun bills capable of causing religious crisis in the country. The foremost monarch, the head of Muslims in Nigeria, made the appeal yesterday in Gusau, Zamfara State at the closing ceremony of this year’s state Qur’anic recitation competition organized by the state Quranic Memorisation and Tajweed board. Abubakar called for consistent vigilance on all bills brought by any group or individuals that could lead to religious controversy.According to the Sultan, Muslims would not accept any law or amendment of some sections of the constitution that contradicts the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. Abubakar, who was specifically reacting to the recent bill on gender equity that was brought before the National Assembly but was subsequently rejected by the Senate, said the issue of inheritance as contained in the bill was totally opposed to various verses in the Holy Qur’an, and such issues should not be considered and supported by the Muslims lawmakers. He said Muslims in Nigeria were in large numbers in the country, hence the relevant authorities and stakeholders should be mindful of any issue that could contravene the teaching of the holy book: the Qu’ran and Islamic religion, to ensure a sustainable peace and harmony of all Nigerians. The Sultan saluted the Nigerian Army and the Federal Government and urged them to be proactive in the anti-terror campaign, commending them for their recent success over Boko Haram by capturing their base in Sambisa Forest. In his address, the Governor Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, commended the Sultan over his sterling leadership role among Nigerian Muslims. The governor said the state was committed to working hand in hand with the sultanate towards promoting peace and unity among Muslims and other religions in Nigeria. |

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/2019-no-restructuring-no-vote-south-east-igbo-groups/ A coalition of pressure and socio-political groups in the South-East on the banner of the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA, has made the restructuring of the country, a major condition for backing any candidate or political party in the 2019 general elections. Rising from a meeting in Enugu, the Enugu State Capital, leaders of the groups, who lamented the killings of Igbo people in many parts of the country and refusal of the Federal Government to punish the culprits, said Nigeria cannot afford to continue with the unitary system of government. Held at the residence of Chief Mrs. Maria Okwor, the meeting had in attendance leaders of the Clergy, Christian Association, CAN, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, town unions, students groups, women associations, youth organizations and traders unions. Also present at the meeting were relatives of Ndubisi Uzoma, who was beheaded by Fulani herdsmen, last week, in Abuja and Pastor Mike Agbahime, who decried the release of Dauda and co who murdered his 74 year old wife, Bridget, in Kano last June. In a communique by Mrs. Maria Okwor and secretary of ECA, Evang. Elliot Ugochukwu-Uko, the ECA said ”the continued pretence by the central government that the loss of faith in unitary Nigeria as shown by various agitations for secession can be resolved through force of arms is childish and actually paints government as unserious and insincere about the need to save Nigeria’s future. Every adult in Nigeria, knows Nigeria’s survival is hinged only on a sincere restructuring of the polity along the lines of regional autonomy, anchored on true fiscal federalism according to the 1963 constitution. Continuous delay in restructuring Nigeria only deepens the acrimony, distrusts and fears presently ruling the land.” The leaders also tasked the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubabakar 111, who is visiting Enugu, today, on the killings of Igbo in the North and menace of Fulani herdsmen. They said: ”As a new awareness slowly but certainly emerges from the ashes of these trying period, we warn our leaders without followers that their 46 years old self-centred agenda and mindless exploitation of the masses’ helplessness has abruptly come to an end, as they have to key in to the people’s demand of political restructuring of Nigeria, if they want to truly lead the people. ”No politician who is not in support of restructuring Nigeria will receive votes in Igbo land, from ward elections, through state and National legislative elections to governorship and presidential elections. Our people will only vote for freedom from eternal slavery henceforth.” It condemned the release of Dauda Ahmed and co, who were charged for the murder of 74 year old Bridget Agbahime in Kano on June 2 2016, and urge both the Kano state government and the Federal government to re-arrest and retry the five murderers and bring to justice the killers of Mrs Agbahime as earlier promised by President Muhammadu Buhari. The ECA also condemned the non arrest and prosecution of Fulani Herdsmen who beheaded and carted away the head of citizen Ndubisi Uzoma in Iddo, airport road Abuja last week over incessant altercations with Fulani herdsmen due to the destruction of his farms. It stated that the continuous refusal by government to set up a Judicial commission of enquiry as demanded by the Senate, Amnesty International and others, over the extra-judicial killings of Igbo youths especially on February 9, 2016 at National High School Aba and St Edmonds Catholic Church Nkpor on May 30, 2016 has earned the secessionist groups more sympathy and painted government as the villain. ”The current government strategy of ‘we have enough ammunition to deal with you people’ exemplified by military operations named after all kinds of reptiles, is clearly not working. Identifying and addressing the issues that has led millions of young people to lose faith in Nigeria remains the only solution to resolving these agitations. Military solution only exacerbates it,” it added. |

http://jaguda.com/2016/12/16/ugandan-court-issues-arrest-warrant-for-wizkid/ Our own Wizkid is in the news this evening. This is not for anything palatable, no the story here is highly controversial. Earlier on, Wizkid cancelled his concert in East African country Uganda. Top of the reasons for the cancellation of the planned concert was due to health concerns. Wizkid in a series of tweets apologized for annulling concerts he was billed to perform in December and January as advised by his doctors. Now news has it that a Ugandan Court has issued an arrest warrant for Wizkid and his manager Sunday Are for failure of the music star to appear for the concert he was fully booked and paid for. According to papers from the prosecutor Wizkid was allegedly paid the some of $60,000 via his manager Sunday Are. The singer’s manger was also paid a brokerage fee of $5000 and $3000 being per diem for his stay in the country. |

Enugu —The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the directorate of State, DOS, have commended the former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, erudite Professor, Dr Ben Nwabueze and the founder of Igbo Youths Movement, Evangelist Eliot Uko for supporting the course of Biafra since the inception of IPOB. This was containe in a statement yesterday by the director of publicity of IPOB, Emma Powerful. The statement read: “All through history, in every clime, when God’s ordained revolution manifests like the Biafra and IPOB revolution, so many forces usually oppose it, and move to stop it, subvert it, and undermine it and or sabotage and blackmail it. Our journey to freedom is no different. “We must forgive all who opposed us in the past, either out of fear or out of ignorance. We welcome them anytime they wake up from slumber and queue in the correct line. “In that connection, we note the recent waking up of those who have misunderstood us in the past; we welcome them all, including the Igbo summit group who called on the Federal Government to release our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu during their summit at the Abia State University Uturu, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Igbo Leaders of Thought. Alex Ekwueme & Ben Nwabueze “We believe we have conquered every opposition, through the simple truth and the grace of God. “We sincerely thank all our members, admirers, sympathizers and supporters all over the world for their sacrifices, steadfastness and support so far. We are truly grateful. “The journey has not been easy, but we appreciate you all and assure you, that the great and noble IPOB and it’s leader shall remain steadfast, resolute, fearless and totally committed to freedom no matter what may come our way. “We will always stand on the truth at all times. No price is too high for the liberty of Biafrans. In this regard, we must appreciate the tireless Prof. Ben Nwabueze, for his fatherly counsel and noble heart in defense of the truth and pursuit of justice. “We appreciate Dr. Alex Ekwueme, the Iroko, for his fatherly advice and standing on the truth; we appreciate the great mom, Chief Mrs. Maria Okwor, the defender of the oppressed, the only amazon, who like wine appreciates in value with age; we are grateful to the indefatigable Evang. Elliot Uko, a truly upright man, defender of truth and a man of peace. We also commend the efforts made by great men of God Bishop Emmanuel Chukwuma of Enugu and Bishop Ephraim Ikeakor of Nnewi.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/12/biafra-ipob-commends-ekwueme-nwabueze-others/ 1 Like |

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has slammed minister of labour, Chris Ngige over his recent claims that the South-East geopolitical zone has not being expunged from the scheme of things under the current administration. The group accused Ngige of running his mouth just to please his pay master in Abuja. Ngige had while speaking during the annual convention and 2016 graduation ceremony of Skill Acquisition Students of Bina Foundation, Enugu, said contrary to the statement purportedly made by Ohanaeze that Ndigbo were being excluded, the antecedents of Buhari showed that he loved Ndigbo. But IPOB, while reacting via a statement by its spokesman, Emmanuel Powerful, said people like Chris Ngige and other political jobbers feeding off the crumbs from the master’s table should be ashamed of themselves and know that the day of reckoning was fast approaching. He said, “Anybody or group of persons against the new found courage of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in supporting the quest for freedom for all must examine his or her conscience before offering an opinion. “Nevertheless, We IPOB have gone beyond the rent-boy era of politics in Igbo speaking part of Biafra that is something these no hopers should know. “This is the time to embolden the few good men left in Igboland not to pander to the interest of political vultures who have brought nothing tangible to the emancipation discourse championed by our leader mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB members worldwide. “Our goal remains the attainment of absolute freedom in deed not just in mere words, for all oppressed peoples of Biafra and beyond. “We also commend the Ohaneze leadership for demonstrating the leadership charisma for once through out their period in office as executive in Igboland. “Again, as long as the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo and other groups and social cultural organizations in Biafraland remains on the side of the truth without fear or favour IPOB and its leadership will continue to support every of their initiatives aimed at liberating, the emancipation or promotion of our people. “We hope that other social cultural organizations and elders in Biafraland of Ijaw, Ishekiri, Anang, Ibibio, Kalabari, Opobo, Igala, Idoma, Ogoni, Urohobo, Igbanke etc will come out and toll the line with the recent statements made by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo towards the realization of God’s nation Biafra and the liberation of our people. “Until this sacred and divine mission is accomplished, IPOB worldwide will never rest’ so also our ordained leader and prophet of our time Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.” 5 Likes |

maybe I don't know whether others are noticing Buhari's continues language change towards Biafra agitators. first he said instead of Nigeria to break up every body will drown, next he said biafrans should form a political party sometime of that nature, next He said there would be no referendum he even called them activist in the US before they were being called Miscreants. recently he is now saying breaking up would be DIFFICULT. Of course biafrans knows it would be difficult. With this way I think biafrans will eventually get what they want. Nothing in this world can stop millions of determined minds. 5 Likes 1 Share |

There is this issue of your alleged stand
against the Biafra struggle. And this has
become an issue with some groups fighting
for a Biafra nation. As a man of God and not
a politician, how does this connect with you?
I have heard that before, that I granted an
interview to some faceless interviewers against
the agitations of the Indigenous People of
Biafra which is not true. I’m not the one, it was
an evil concoction. To start with, I’m a
preacher and Ambassador of Peace for the
United Nations. I’m not in support of violence,
I was one of the pastors in Nigeria who spoke
several times on live worldwide satellite TV
broadcast for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
People who are jobless should look for
something to do rather than fabricating stories
that have no basis in order to confuse the
people. Pastors should not be dragged into
unnecessary debate and tribal rancor.
You have become synonymous with charity.
How do you hope the world should pay you
back?
In the book of proverbs 19:17, the scripture
says; “Whoever is kind to the poor is lending
to the Lord the benefit of his gift will return to
him in abundance”. We are only doing what we
know how to do and our rewards are from
God. We are not expecting anything from men
or any group. The world cannot pay us back.
I’m not a politician who installed a bore hole
for his community or does other projects and
is expecting his people to vote for him in his
second term political election campaign bid.
Ours is not like that, we are only privileged to
do what we know how to do to the glory of
God.
Can you tell us the story of your ministry’s
12th Holy Ghost Convention?
The 12th Holy Ghost Convention of the
ministry that took place in Auchi with live
coverage worldwide and live streaming was a
replica of the acts of the Apostles as there
were manifold deluge of unending blessings
conspicuously endowed on the people through
the God of all flesh. God brought people from
length and breadth of the globe. We saw
unusual door of utterances opened as the word
came in a special and mind blowing
dimensions. Healing on every side, special
miracles for the people were not left out. In
nutshell, we have not recovered from the move
of the Spirit of God. |

As attention is being shifted to agriculture
because of dwindling fortunes in oil revenue in
the country, many investors are now looking
back and navigating into agricultural ventures
while those who are already in the sector are
doing everything possible to increase their
production frontiers.
In line with this , the biggest rice mill in the
country, Stine Industries Limited, Amichi in
Nnewi South Local Government Area of
Anambra State, has embarked on expansion
programmes.
Stine Industries Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer of the company, Chief Akai Egwuonwu,
has also assured the state governor, Chief
Willie Obiano, that the multi-million naira mill
has the capacity to produce enough rice to
meet the rice demand of the entire South-East
and beyond.
It was gathered that last year, the rice mill
mopped up all the rice cultivated in Anambra,
milled them and the state government was
able to get enough rice supply with which it did
Christmas celebration for all civil servants and
other residents in the state, and yet there were
still hundreds of thousands of bags of rice left
in stock after the season as milling continues,
Chief Egwuonwu said.
According to Chief Egwuonwu, the company
produces 141,000 metric tons of rice annually
though it has not reached its optimum
production capacity due to some challenges
which bordered on electricity power supply,
access road, paucity of paddy and more funds
to be injected into the capital-intensive mill.
Despite the challenges, however, the CEO
whose company in May 2016 received an
award as the Best Rice Brands in Africa from
the Institute for Government Research
Leadership Technology said the mill that
commenced full operation in August 2012 has
about 180 personnel directly employed by the
company and over15,000 dependent and
indirectly employed workers.
He recognized the efforts of Governor Obiano
whom he said had given the company a strong
support with a visionary and progressive push.
“In the past one year, it is on good record that
His Excellency has partnered with us and
patronized our products so much, and that has
greatly enhanced our production output. Stine
Industries today has the capacity to meet the
rice demand of all the Eastern states in
Nigeria,” he said.
The rice miller noted that the revolutionary
agricultural policy of Obiano in the area of rice
cultivation had contributed immensely to the
company’s increase in productivity, adding that
credit must go to the efforts of the
Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Afam
Mbanefo and the Senior Special Assistant to
the Governor on Agriculture, Engr Mike
Ogbuekwe for their immense contributions and
direction towards the advancement of food
cultivation in the state.
He said that the governor’s support and
patronage had propelled the company to
diversify into fish feeds production, poultry
feeds, noodles manufacturing and table water
production.
He expressed satisfaction that the credit facility
Obiano extended to the mill through Anambra
Small Business Agency (ASBA) had gone a
long way towards helping Stine Industries
businesses and capacity.
His wprds: “Our appreciation is evergreen and
inexhaustible. We, therefore, thought it wise to
perform the corporate social responsibility to
commence the training of 200 youths of Nnewi
South extraction on fish farming as facilitated
by the Managing Director of ASBA, Chief Clem
Chukwuka and anchored by Special Assistant

http://dailypost.ng/2016/07/15/ndigbo-contributed-to-the-development-of-lagos-abuja-ohaneze/The Igbo nation has noted that it contributed over 30 per cent to the development of Lagos and have helped in developing Abuja too, stressing that the present state of affairs in the country makes it imperative for the people to look inwards to build Igboland. This decision was taken yesterday when Igbo leaders gathered in Owerri, Imo State capital, where the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo called the government and traditional institutions of the South-East states to a think-tank in Owerri tagged Igbo Unity Forum. In his welcome speech, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Gary Enwo Igariwey said the Igbo group has been striving to be the mouth-piece of the people of the region without success. He therefore expressed joy that they had succeeded in closing ranks in order to move the race forward. “We have never had it like this in coming together to proffer solutions to Igbo problems,” Igariwey said. Noting that the Igbos are very adventurous and great achievers, he pointed out that they contributed over 30 per cent to the development of Lagos and have helped in developing Abuja too. The Ohanaeze leader therefore called on the Igbos to now think home to replicate those things they have done in Lagos and Abuja in Igboland. His words: “We should come together and solve our problems. We are known for our resilience and industry. Thirty per cent of investments in Lagos and Abuja is owned by Ndigbo but now we are calling on our people to think home and build another Abuja in Igbo land. “We should invest at home to create jobs for our people. So, today is a special day because we have decided as a people to close ranks and proffer solutions to our problems.” Also speaking, former governor of old Anambra State, who was the chairman of the occasion, Senator Jim Nwobodo, called on successful businessmen of Igbo extraction to start investing at home in order to create employment opportunities for Igbo youths. For the guest lecturer at the occasion, Prof. Anya O. Anya, the time has come for Ndigbo to re- recover themselves if they must survive in the current situation in the country, admonishing that, “The solutions to our problems can only be found within and not outside. We are the only ones that can solve our own problems.” He added: “We are preparing to rebuild Igbo land to meet with the Nigeria of the 21st Century. We have gathered because the time is critical so that we can chart a new course for our people. There has never been a time we are faced with a barrage of problems like now so we need our past to find solutions to our problems.” |
