Your decision. However take note the ECM complained about the circuit. It definitely saw something it didn't like and its possible the code was set during a previous job. As I stated earlier. It would be wise to inspect/diagnose the whole EVAP system rather than just "pull out the canister". You should also consider erasing the codes, do a test drive and den rescan system to see what comes back.

I REMOVED THE BATTERY HEAD, BY THE TIME I GOT IT CONNECTED, THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WAS NO LONGER THERE, SO NO CODES POPPED UP.

What symptoms are you experiencing on this vehicle?
Any engine performance problems?

Before you go about buying throttle Position Sensor/MAP sensor, ensure you check the wiring circuit to this sensors and also the PCM.

Also check your EVAP system. It might be compromised as this might be the reason why the computer is reporting a MAP/TPS sensor fault as it is not sure what exactly the problem is.

So pls dont throw parts at the problem. Diagnose it...

so what should be done ? how do I proceed to rectify this situation, because my fuel doesn't last at all. before you know its showing red tank.

The mix going into your engine is too rich due to what you poured. Use up the fuel completely and buy fresh clean fuel (full tank maybe). Code will disappear after a while.

Has nothing to do with the cleaner you poured. Scan your vehicle and post the codes . If you are in Lagos bring it in for a free scan.

aii thanks, but what if I add more fuel now, any disadvantage?

fuel consumption is perfect( p0420 catalyst code must not be present), much more better than it ever was,. The only disadvantage is car will start sounding like a drone when you speed over 80km/hr

OK, i will have to bring my exhaust down and check, hopefully, I will have a near perfect solution

They've tampered with the check engine light and rewired it to go off when the car starts.
Still scan the car for fault codes and post for solutions.

That car has an OBD2 scan port. What you should have done is scan the car for fault code if check engine light is on to direct you on what to fix before throwing parts at it.
There are several things responsible for excessive fuel combustion, a scan should direct you on where to check.

the engine check light doesn't stay on when i drive. it is only comes on at the point when the ignition is comes on. but after then the ccheck engine light goes off.

@Gazuzz, it most be noted that my check engine light is not on. it only comes one at the point point when the ignition is on and the vehicle starts, then it goes off.

i have a camry 99 model. i have been using it for 7sevens months now, but during this periods i have noticed the fuel consumption is usually high. i have compared it with similar models, over time but my still stands out. i have serviced my nozzles, changed air filter(new), changed fuel filter(new), changed the plugs,yet still not difference. after this last servicing two weeks ago, i notice this unusual vibration when i engage my gear, but when on motion i dont feel it. what else can i do please ?
