tbliss22:This is very unfortunate, this use a blanket cover of selfish, primitive and narrow mindedness on the Tiv people and to further brand them as robbers is reckless. How many Tiv people have defrauded you? compare the fraud that goes on in your respective places and make an impartial conclusion. That's your opinion sha. |

@OP and others, chemically speaking the combination of sodium Bicarbonate and vinegar will not whiten anything! Vinegar contains acetic acid in varying concentrations, Frequently its between 5%-20%. The reaction between vinegar and Sodium bicarbonate is an acid base reaction which produces sodium acetate and carbonic acid. Carbonic acid further dissociate to carbon dioxide and water. We can see that the products of the reaction I.e sodium acetate, carbon dioxide and water have no whitening ability. Conclusion: This is a hoax, don't waste your time and money. |
This should have been a welcome development considering the fact that many drivers on our roads are not trained. They' d just get into their cars and fiam they are off speeding to only God knows where. But the security situation in our country gives me cold sweat anytime I think of this speed limit device, men of the underworld will surely be put at advantage if this is implemented. So security wise I am afraid it's not good. |
Phew!

If the dog had been named Gowon or Jonathan would there have been any furore about it? Would the police have been swift to arrest and detain anyone for the interest of public peace? Have they ever arrested any herdsmen who pose more threat to public peace? What I know is that mere accusations and arraignment don't prove guilt only facts do. Let's see how this matter will end |

It has been revealed that Mikel John Obi, had to part with $4,000 of his personal money, to ensure that the Nigeria Olympic team did not miss their flight to Salvador. Players and officials of the Dream Team VI, were held to ransom in Sao Paulo, over unpaid bills incurred by additional officals. Organizers of the Games, insisted on a team of 25 players – 18 players and seven officials. A source confirms that it was the responsibility of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to offset the bills of the extra five officials. “We just arrived Salvador now from Sao Paolo. We nearly missed our flight because of unpaid bills in the hotel. The hotel held us to ransom,” a team official told AfricanFootball.com “The problem is that all the additional officials here in Brazil are the responsibility of the Nigeria Football Federation, who said they will pay for them, but they did not pay for them again. “The affected officials included the team’s media officer, the team coordinator, the kits manager in charge of players and officials’ kits and the accompanying assistant director technical. “A call was put across to the honourable minister of youths and sports, he said we should put the bill in the (credit) card but the card didn’t work. They tried and tried but the minister said that only 18 players and seven officials should be captured as regards payment according to the rules of the Olympic Games. “So, the hotel bills of these other officials, about five of them cost the sum of over $4,000. They held us hostage for more than one hour and we nearly missed our flight. It was Mikel (Obi) who rescued us by paying the money. “I can tell you honestly speaking that this incident is not the fault of the minister because the minister listed the people to be accommodated which were 18 players and seven officials.”

The Femi Makinde, Osogbo The embattled lecturer at the Department of Languages and Linguistics of the Osun State University, Ikire Campus, Dr. Wale Ojoniyi, has said the truth about the sex video recently released by a 400 level student of the institution, Mercy Ikwue, will soon prevail. Ojoniyi said this in a text message he sent to our correspondent in Osogbo on Thursday in response to the earlier story published by The PUNCH. The lecturer described the video as a lie but did not say the man in the video was not him or that the tape was manipulated. He was also silent on who might be behind the scandalous video clip. The text message read, “Congratulations, Femi Makinde. When you know the truth, it will either set you free or imprison your conscience …..And very soon, you will know the truth. I have just read your lies.” Meanwhile, some students of the UNIOSUN campus in Ikire, who called our correspondent on Thursday, expressed delight that the scandal was eventually blown open for everybody to see. The students, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the matter would curb such practice which they claimed was not limited to Ojoniyi. The students said Ikwue petitioned the school authority about the case and the lecturer was also suspended. They added that Ojoniyi just resumed from the suspension. One of the students said there were many unreported cases of sexual assault going on in the school but nobody was ready to complain officially because of alleged cover-up and solidarity from other lecturers. A former student said, “One of them (lecturers) who supervised me almost failed me. He (name withheld) asked me to come and meet him at a hotel on many occasions. I obliged but refused to let him have sex with me. “It’s a pity I did not have a hidden camera, I would have nailed him like what was done to Ojoniyi. I had to complain when it became obvious that he would not let me go. I was assigned to another lecturer but that second lecturer did not demand anything outside academics from me.” Ojoniyi was seen in the video clip naked with the female student in a hotel room. The lecturer, who was stark naked, was seen caressing the lady intermittently but the female student who recorded the sexual activities with a webcam did not remove her top and she used the bedsheet as a wrapper all through the duration of the recording. It was gathered that the lecturer had been pestering the student for an amorous affairs but the lady refused. Ojoniyi was however reported to be instrumental to the suspension of the student who was caught for examination malpractice. Upon her resumption, the lecturer was said to have continued to pester her and she eventually agreed and met him in a hotel where she surreptitiously recorded the video. As a police officer in uniform, the etiquette is to salute the Emir and not to shake his hand. I think the Emir extended his hand because he was not aware of that or maybe he forgot. When not in uniform, he can handsomely shake the Emir like a civilian. ![]() |
