It seems Wike is truly on ground in PH. If he won’t be supporting his party at the presidential level, APC that has plunged Nigeria into this colossal economic hardship that ought to be punished at the poll should not be Wike option. Any other people-focused candidates like Obi, anything short of that shows is just after his own interest not the people. Outside APC poor performance, Tinubu is too old and feeble to run this country at this dire time.

One of the effective ways the two major political parties can stop Peter Obi on election day is vote buying.

Vote buying is gonna be is major headaches. I have seen a formidable candidate lost my polling unit before because he could not match his main opponent in vote buying. He was sharing 1k while his main opponent was sharing 5k. Guess what? His main opponent won that my poling unit.

We tried talking to people on the dangers of selling their votes but those that didn’t not even want to vote upon hearing that one of the main political parties was buying a vote per 5k, come and see how people trooped to the poling units majorly because of the largess and not because the candidate was credible.

Our politicians have now impoverished the masses and they are now using poverty as a tool to bulldoze their way to win elections. This is what is gonna be giving Tinubu an edge over Atiku because of the endless resources of Lagos treasury.

I am speaking this based on my experience in our of the last elections I voted. Sadly my candidate lost the polling unit because he was not able to match his rival who was buying vote 5k with his own 1k per vote.

If his team or INEC can put measures in place to checkmate vote buying on Election Day day then our elections will become better judging by INEC improvement with electronic transmission of results and the BVA machines

Something tells me Bubu might be using the rising insecurity and terrorism activities nationwide as an excuse to cling on to power.

But another thought in me says otherwise because it think our democracy is stronger than ever

I think it’s a political party rules and affairs. They didn’t know see the statutory delicate abolishment coming because that would have added and raised the numbers.

Using a southerner who happened to have scores to settle with Tinubu-Oshiomole camp to read the script they have already planned and written so it doesn’t look like the northern cabal is involved in the dirty jobs.

Well to Buhari he feels he already settled Tinubu by ceding the Vice President position to him.

Had it been Tinubu was not solely given the Vice President slot which he presented Osinbajo then Buhari would’ve forever remain indebted.

Oshiomole has always been a Tinubu foot soldier. He paid dearly with his chairmanship position and his candidate also lost Edo.

Just imagine he was not removed as the APC national chairman?

It seems the Cabal and Buhari camp saw ahead of time that it will be better for their camp to sacrifice Edo state and led Oshiomole go ahead of time else the APC presidential primary would taken a different dimension now had Oshiomole remained the APC party chairman

So I learnt from insider source that Obaseki was among those that masterminded the tambuwal strategy and machinery that defeated Wike.

Wike made too many enemies even among his southern governor colleagues. His overbearing nature led to the PDP having factions in many state.

He failed to realize no matter how rich river state his, he needs an ally and there is no small Governor.

He has had issues with Umahi, Peter Obi, Obaseki, Udon etc

But again, Wike through Dan Orbih and Ogbeide Iyama mess up and underestimated a governor. There is no small governor no matter how tiny his state resources might be.

Obaseki decamped to PDP and Wike via his foot soldiers (proxies) which are Dan Orbih and Ogbeide Iyama almost frustrated his move even when the Uche Secondus led NWC had given Obaseki the green light.

You remember that tax collector statement Wike made before the Edo state governorship elections. Then it was resolved and Wike foot soldiers where settled.

But after since Obaseki would have meant the PDP conditions before decamping, he automatically becomes the leader of the party in the state just like every other governor decampee in other states but Wike and his foot soldiers in Edo state (Ogbeide Iyama and Orbih) didn’t not allow Obaseki to become the party leader probably because of Wike Presidential ambition (securing the PDP delegates of Edo state I assume)

I learnt Wike and his foot soldiers in Edo state told Obaseki to focus on governance while they run the politics affair for him and Obaseki and his followers who decamped from APC didn’t not buy into this idea.

Obaseki having meant PDP conditions to decamp wanted to be seen as the party leaders in the state, the party structure handed to him or shared 50/50 or with his share bigger than the old PDP which Wike saw has a threat and decided to fight it out with Obaseki since him (Wike) has more state resources and more influential in the PDP.

That was the issue that led to Wike insulting Obaseki deputy Philip Shaibu and Obaseki officially issuing a statement that led to Wike finally tongue lashing Obaseki in a national TV

Wike inasmuch was very instrumental to Obaseki 2nd term emergence goofed.

He should have allow the NWC broker a deal between his foot soldiers camp and that of Obaseki sharing the party structure 60/40 or 50/50

No governor no matter how small will want another Gov in another state to control his state party structure for him.

This has led to PDP having two factions in the state. Wike faction led by Dan Orbih (PDP chairman south) and Obaseki faction.

The edo state PDP chairman is loyal to the governor and it was Obaseki faction.

Oh just like GEJ was betrayed by the southerners now falsely claiming south let us unite?

All the southerner leaders that ganged up against GEJ will also be getting served same breakfast

As for Edo state I don’t see Wike winning it as an appeal court has upturned that federal high court judgement.

Again, from the 18 ad hoc delegate lists released are all Obaseki loyalists.

I learnt Dan Orbih, one of Wike foot soldiers have been trying to force the PDP national headquarters to accept his own list why I learnt they refused as of the time of writing this report.

Well said bro. You can’t compare the federal allocation and excess crude accounts funds people like Oshiomole and other governors didn’t allow GEJ administration to save with this time where every state are now feeling the impact of paucity of funds from the center.

It’s good economic management for state to be able to pay salaries, service loans and also embark on capital projects. There was more money from oil rains then unlike now.

Here is a news by reputable news source - Channels TV who are kinda anti-Obaseki and they even went to the streets of Benin to confirm from multiple Edo civil servants and they affirmed that he has started paying the new 40k minimum wage yet most of you are still saying is a lie.

Normally I don’t comment on political issues like this but because of people like living in another states who always want to rubbish anything good from people who do not share same political ideology or part with you.

I remember in January when I was at ound, my mom complain of a tooth problem.
So we were refered to the new specialist hospital.
When we attended our appointment, I couldn't believe where I was.
Not at the infrastructure or the facilities ( this one was top notch)but I have never seen a govt hospital function so professionally like I was in the UK.
Staffs were so neatly dressed and mannered. It was everything I didn't expect.
The nurses, the process, the machineries... Everything was accordingly and in time.
30 mins we were out of the place.

Do you know that recruiting of civil service in edo state is now a continuous projects via the EdoJobs.

First time in the state people are getting employment based on competence and merits in most ministries with lesser connections unlike before?

Like in the ministry where my wife works in the health sector there have been continuous replacement of staff who have mostly been JAPA-ing to the UK for greener pasture.

Come to think of it, how many persons are under the EdoState government payroll. the last time i checked, many workers have retired and no new employment. Thats why Obaseki increased the minimum wage of the few workers in his State.

It’s true! I am here in Benin city and my wife work in the civil service.

This is even channel tv news that is kinda of anti-obaseki especially during the last elections.

Same with Vanguard that recently gave him the Governor of the year award. Some people where like he bought the award. I was like Obaseki a miser buy an award from Vanguard who at a point was anti-Obaseki.

You can ask anyone working Edo state civil service or pensioners if they have not been receiving their salaries and pensions promptly every month. Even during the peak of Covid-19 when other states where slashing salaries or unable to pay promptly, Obaseki never defaulted either salaries or pension.

He doesn’t joke with workers and pensioners emoluments.

The man is doing his bit and he is not the type of governor that does projects commissioning before use. Like the area where I lived in Benin city, there are tons of projects. Tons of roads newly constructed and also rehabilitated ( I know this is how your likes rate a working governor, coming on air to do a paparazzi show off). Even at that he is building roads but I keep wondering why I have not seen him commission these projects before use.

He just build projects, once completed, the next day people start using it. Nothing like the usual ribbon scissors cutting camera show off. Many hate him because he does not spend on frivolity.


He is called wake and see for a reason.

Take for instance the recent bus terminal newly constructed, I went there and saw it’s now being used and I was like, why does this man not even commission projects before use?

I can point to a lot of visible projects, policy formations, workers warfare, workforce training and retraining and tons of good governance oriented projects this man has done and doing that I never saw him do a paparazzi show off on.

He is a kind of build and use governor. Because he doesn’t do all those usual fanfair paparazzi projects commissioning thingy does not mean he is not working inspite of the recent paucity of funds some other governors keep complaining about.

I was reading through this same 40k minimum wage and prompt salaries for pensioners and civil servants payment confirmation on his official twitter few days ago and guy commented that he was lying that salaries are not being paid as at when due.

I checked this twitter profile GBAM! He was a pro Tinubu judging by the type of contents on his walls. I was like this someone not residing in Edo saying all these.

It dawned on me that many just hate him because of the way he stood his ground and fought to a standstill the Tinubu and Oshiomole gang up against him because of that people always want to always paint the picture of Edo made a mistake electing and those fake news stories.

Obaseki is not the type of those agbero governor. He is sound, working and doing his bit.

Yes there other areas he needs to do better but he is working and lets commend him in this areas where we can see and feel his works while we also criticize him in areas where he is failing and needs to do better.
