Police Report additional information (Partner) requested August 15th, 2023 and PCC sent on August 16th, 2023.

Sponsor Note or Bank account Statement for Partner and Child requested on on Thurs August 24th, 2023 and and joint bank account statement in both MA and partner sent on Fri August 25th, 2023 re-attaching child birth certificate and alongside Explanation Letters for both Partner and Child.

Visa Decision Made and 2 DHL passport Delivery emails received on today Tues August 29TH, 2023

BRP email is now being awaited.

UPDATE!

Visa Decision Made today, Application status now showing transferred to VAC and 2 DHL emails for passport delivery received for partner and child. No BRP email yet maybe that should drop soon.

This used to be the case but it seems Homeoffice is tightening the immigration process now because of the endless stories of people getting to the UK and unable to meet up with the basics bill - rent, food etc for the first few weeks reason they are now adding to the requirement.

The applicant don't need to point to the ECO where the maintenance was ticked in the CoS as the ECO can already see that from their back office and the CoS PDF that I attached it was already ticked Y yet he demanded for Sponsor note or Bank statement in the MA or partner name.

I've assisted and guided a couple of skilled worker visa applications and their dependent did use Bank statement, no Sponsor note and the usual maintenance was ticked Y and many did not even submit police report (dependents) and they got their visas but it seems that are changing now judging by my recent experience or maybe this just depend on individual ECO or something.

In our case, I thought I didn't need PCC because of my experience with others I know who have toed this same route but the ECO requested last 2 weeks and after submitting it, just just last week again the ECO requested for a sponsor note or bank statement to be submitted in 10 days. I widely consulted and also sought opinion from people here like advanceDNA etc. and they all suggested I leave option A (Sponsor note) to avoid any unnecessary gambling with my application and opt for the Option B (Bank statement) as most likely the sponsor will not give a favorable outcome as regards the sponsor note.

In fact, I've now sent a joint bank statement in the name of the MA and the partner to give it an added boost and now waiting for a decision as it has been since July 28th, 2023 that Biometric was done.

Hi. The rules are as clear as day and night for a skilled work visa as it is point based. The applicant just needs to point the ECO to where maintenance was ticked. And yes any employer can sponsor as many people as they want. It all boils down to the company’s policy. Does not have anything to do with family size.

As per the maintenance for applicants and dependents being ticket YES on the CoS, it has been normal thing that everyone I have seen applied as dependent did and got.

Talking about asking the NHS Trust who is the sponsor of the main applicant to get a maintenance cover letter for dependents, are you sure they are gonna accept to provide the letter when it was clearly stated on her offer letter that a studio apartment will be provide free of charge for the MA for the first 2 months and can have access to it for another 4 months if she pays for it.

Ur employer only ticked yes to maintenance without writting cover note that the maintenance covers both main applicant and all dependents....

This is not a hard matter...they even gave u two options...

If u dont have money sitting for 28days or more.. just ask ur employer to help you with sponsor note to cover ur dependents

It does not worth it abeg. If you are not sure of your route and figure out how you gonna settle, na to wait until shola link comes up. If selling some valuable asset, be sure of what you are selling it for not selling all one's valuable asset with the mind of well you reach everywhere go soft and be disappointed and stranded. At least one should be to get something doing to offset the basic bills there like rent, food etc. until one eventually settle down after like 1-2yrs

Prior before now like around March-April I know of dependents who applied without PCC and they got it. They only did PCC when they want to travel because some employers might be needing it. Na watin make me loose guard not knowing PCC is now mandatory.

Haba ! Who gave you such advice na ? PCC is very mandatory oo. Im counting 15 working days from the Aug 9th, keep fingers crossed and praying for God speed.

Dependent - Partner and Child Visa, Did Biometric Fri July 28th, 2023 and got NSF emails Tues August 15th 2023 requesting that I send a Police Report within 28days which I sent the following day Aug 16th, 2023. Child also got NSF email too but was blank as nothing was requested I suspect mine trigger his or something but don't really know.

Did paid email on on Aug 21st, 2023 and was told to wait till 15 days for a response. Been waiting. Had I known I would have just attached PCC to the application but I had heard from my people it was optional which made not to get it earlier.

It seems we are many on this delay with the NSF application oo. We did biometrics july 6th and the annoying thing is that, me and my wife ( she’s the main applicant ) visas has been out since July 21 and 27 ooo. It’s our kids visas that we have been waiting for. We sent the NSF additional document July 25th. I did paid call Aug 9 and they collected their details and said they’ll escalate the application process, that I should give 15 working days but could be sooner than that. This seems to be the longest 15 working days for us lol. Our visas are almost a month gone now, the delay is very frustrating. Although, everyone keep saying this is a a peak period for summer travels so the embassies are usually packed and slow with visa applications.

Pls all of us that has this NSF application, can we share date we sent the additional requested document? Have we done the paid call thing ? Pls share your experience so far so we can be consoling ourselves oo hahaha

It depends on what they mean by "waiting forever". How long has it being? One year? I have seen people on here who did biometrics and start complaining that UKVI is taking "forever" after waiting for only 3 days...and dem no even do priority.

Trusts that are already short-staffed won't delay anyone unnecessarily. They would have to go through a thorough verification process before issuing any CoS because the hiring managers will have to make reports to higher authorities.

If your family friend is not feeling confident in the first Trust, they can always reject their offer at any time and go ahead with the second Trust. But let them bear in mind that "the greener pasture" they are looking for in the second Trust might just be a mirage

Thank you for your response, I am asking this for a family friend. She said the WhatsApp group they (first Trust) created are full of complaints of people who have been waiting forever to get their COS and that became a concern for her.

Since she has done several interviews with some waiting to get back to her with outcome and feedbacks, she just accepted this new offer today and send the requested pre-employment checks completed forms back to them.

1. No one will penalise you for accepting 2 offers but since you cannot work for both NHS Trusts, why accept both offers? Besides, you dey spoil road for those wey dey come for back with the Trust you will be rejecting.

2. You see that time that the first Trust is taking to give you CoS, the second Trust will take the same amount of time, if not more. So what is the point?

3. No NHS Trust will ever ask you to pay for CoS. The cost of CoS is chicken change to them.

4. How best to manage the situation: Pick one offer and reject the other one now by letting them know you have accepted another offer. Wait patiently while your CoS is being readied. Since you have gone far with the first Trust, stick with them cos the you don't want to start the process all over again with the second Trust.

My CoS took at least 5 months, likewise Tier4Dependant 's. Patience is a virtue

Thanks for sharing your experience. I knew this was going to be the option to take but hearing people say she might be penalized and asked to pay for COS being issued should in case both NHS Trusts issue it the same time.

My wife had this same dilemma. She had an offer from one NHS Trust located in London last year October but the Trust was so slow in completing all the pre employment checks and issuing her COS. By March 2023, after 5 months of waiting on the Trusts, we decided it was best for her to resume job hunting cause our mind bin nor too dey that London sef due to cost of living. Luckily for her towards the end of March, she got another NHS offer which she gladly accepted. This new NHS trust had told her that they hope to get her in by May if all pre employment checks are duly completed on time with no issues. I just say erm, na so let’s wait for who will first issue COS and turn down the other(I just come dey pray make e be say na that 2nd offer go quick issue her COS because I nor like that London, but inside my mind I don still decide say if na that one still first come o, we go march am).

By the 2nd week of April this other Trust(2nd offer) gave her COS and immediately she got the COS, she wrote the first NHS Trust located in London and politely withdrew her acceptance of their offer of employment. They wished her best of luck.

My wife has since arrived in the UK and currently working as a staff nurse with the 2nd NHS Trust that was quick to issue her COS.

Please what happens when one is expecting CoS from two different NHS Trust after accepting both offer?

The first NHS Trust has accepted my signed offer letter and did the pre-employment checks, reference and ID verification but CoS is taking time and from what I have learnt, people have been waiting for this particular NHS Trust for long without being issued COS.

Another NHS Trust where a successful interview was done just also sent a job offer today which has been accepted.

My question now is how do I manage this situation? Apparently anyone that issues COS first is what I will go for. will I be penalized by the first NHS Trust should this Second NHS Trust send me cos?

I was told one can be told to pay for the COS once it’s already issued in one’s name. We have contacted this first NHS Trust, but they are not ready to give us a specific timeline when the cos will be issued and ready to go for the second once the cos is ready.

Please guy how best can this situation be managed without ruing things up.

It’s police report is now mandatory for dependent and not just main applicant alone.

MA applied long before now and already in the UK.

Applied as dependent and child on Friday July 28th, 2023.

I got two (2) NSF emails for the dependent empty and another requesting for specifically requesting for Police report.

I also got 1 NSF email although blank for the child.

For Dependent - Doc includes CoS it MA, Marriage Certificate, TB, Certificate, Consent Letter, Family Photo, Intl Passport, Visa page of MA

For Child - Doc includes CoS of MA, TB, Visa page of MA, Consent letters, Filler UKVI Consent form, Marriage Certificate, Intl Passport, Birth certificate from National population issued 2021 while the child was born 2020.

Prior before I have seen lots of dependents apply for visa with police report and they get it reason I didn’t bother to get as I thought I will only be needing in the UK by some employers.

I noticed you guys are the most critics of Obaseki. You don’t say anything good about him even when he set the pace in most areas.

Here is a performing governor bringing dividends of good governance to is people in the areas of prompt salary/pension payment something bigger state in terms of revenues have not been able to do promptly in the past several years and he even currently pay the highest minimum wage in the 36 states of the federation including the FCT.

And recently he want to start paying retired workers gratuities and you are saying same governor is a failure? The. Someone living in the state is trying to correct you and you want to give a bad name to the person?

Some states don’t even pay pension. In Edo state civil service today, if you retired today and the following or two l, your pension immediately starts getting paid automatically without having to know anybody or doing a connection legging.

Yeah, we have also been been trying out USA and CA too, we currently have an offer from USA staffing agency but the process is taking long.

Same thing for the CA. It’s no brainer going the UK route at this stage especially when part/most of the expenses will be reimbursed later.

Yes truth, the competitiveness seems only a uk thingy and their remuneration is very poor when compared with other countries but UK visa process and relocation seems easier, clear, straightforward and more seamless unlike other countries.

Just imagine what NOVA SCOTIA is currently doing, the process and job sponsorship is kinda complex and not as seamless as that of the UK. Too many unnecessary requirements unlike the UK.

How people are getting sponsored healthcare jobs in large numbers for other countries like the UK directly from Nigeria?

Talk about the relocation cost reimbursement, OSCE registration and other professional trainings and all.

Wifey is yet to get there and they have already booked OSCE for her ahead. Other countries need to make their process easier and remove some unnecessary bottlenecks in the process.

Many people are using the UK process to get in first before deciding to move to other destinations like Western countries.

It doesn’t have to be BNSc alone. Diploma are getting it and using same route of doing mental health CBT and they are geting jobs too.

Jobs are now getting competitive because of the numbers of applicants and this is now making job applications review score to be higher to get a chance.

How well you craft your application and tailor your supporting statement is now very important. Same thing goes with how you demonstrate you work experience.

Gone are the Covid-19 days IEN where landing jobs on a platter.

A wife friend who caught her do a remote interview secretly in one of the empty wards later ambushed her telling her to show her how she is getting tons of interviews.

Wifey just have to plead that I should help her.

It’s been barely a month and some days, she has had 5 interviews already, 2 done and 3 yet to be done.

This is someone that was having difficulty even getting interviews invite.

If you have BNSc you can go the mental health route path when doing CBT. ie register as Mental health nurse with NMC and do mental health CBT.

This with any other type of trainings and skills you may have acquired helps. Just add it up no matter how many and irrelevant you think they might be. This adds up and it helps.

Because job applications are now being reviewed and scored base on points before interview invitation is sent out.

Wifey studied nursing and our job applications where mostly made for Nursing related roles.

Truth, IE mental health nurses job related roles is now currently a thing and having more job vacancy than nursing related roles.

I think it’s because you have less people going to study mental health before now unlike general nursing with higher numbers. People are now recognizing that mental health is now a medical conditions that need attention now.

People don’t need to roam around the streets mad before you know they have mental health related conditions right now and as such the demand while the it’s workforce seems fewer compared to general nursing.

This means fewer people applying as mental health nurse and more people applying for adults nursing job roles. The fewer the numbers of applicants, the higher the chances of getting the job vice versa.In summary, it’s simply a demand and supply thingy.

In our over 35 job interviews, we had more than 10 interviews for mental health related roles. She was able to answer all of the general nursing and scenario questions well but had some challenges with some deep mental health question like mental patients that would not want to come back after given some time to go home or something.

in my job search, I found out the UK had more opportunities for internationally educated mental health nurses. I do not know if jowhyte wife studied mental health nursing but I can see she has years of experience which gives her an edge too.

I don’t really think it is because of Bachelor in Nursing because Diploma too are getting.

I think adult nursing is becoming more competitive unlike mental health.

Again well crafted supporting information is a game changer to get interview invite and how you deliver your interview too is also a factor especially for big Hospitals or Healthcare organizations.

UPDATE guys!

Visa approved after two 2 weeks of application and received by DHL in Benin city about 3 - 4 days after a decision for the approval was reached.

I decided to share our story here how it started to encourage others who may be having some discouragement with unsuccessful emails. We had plenty of it but I just developed a tough skin and kept on firing in tons of applications from all angle until we got this and also expecting favorable decision with others currently pending.

My advice is keep sending in tons of applications and Always follow up on them especially interview outcomes and feedback. Ask questions why your applications are not being considered and use the feedback to adjust accordingly.

I can now focus fully on my other career/biz endeavors because this shit really took a toll on me as I was hitting for at least 100 - 200 targeted applications weekly.

Well, from my own experience, all the applications that have got us successfully shortlisted for over 35 interviews are band 5 job roles as I can see you set up yours to band 4.

While searching for jobs, I don’t usually touch the search fields options other than just writing in search terms/words as “registered nurse” or “staff nurse” and just hit the yellow search button.

Then I will change the search results from the default to “GRADE” as this will make all the search results to be arranged sequentially according to the band levels and pay attention to only band 5 job vacancies.
