The message in the voice message is that I should collect 20k and then they'll pay me the rest later I had to reject the money. I can't borrow money and be paying half half.

Something has been bothering me for a while, and I decided to share it here because honestly, I need advice and maybe someone’s experience or idea can help me.

I have been battling with late payment of salary in my present job as a teacher. I earn ₦45,000, and I don't want to keep complaining about it, but as of today, 11th August, I haven't been paid my July salary, even though we closed before the end of July. To make matters worse, we have been told that we may not even receive August salary this month.

I am currently searching for another job, but the salary situation has really been holding me back. In the meantime, I have been doing private lessons to support myself this month.

Last week, I messaged the administrator about my situation, and she forwarded my message to the proprietor. Yesterday, I went for my lesson as usual, and the proprietor told me he wanted to see me.

Honestly, I had hopes. I thought maybe he wanted to discuss my salary or perhaps offer me a solution. But what he eventually asked me was what else I could be doing so that I wouldn't depend on my salary.

He even suggested that I go into recharge card business and said I could make about ₦10 on ₦100.

I won't lie, that conversation really got to me.

I have actually tried different things over the years.

About two years ago, I started creating AI music. I was able to make something from it and use it to support myself. Last year, I also started creating AI videos. At the time, many of the tools I used were free, but most of them are now paid. The free alternatives are often not good enough, and with the cost of data, it has become extremely difficult.

Sometimes, I can barely afford to eat, not to talk of having money to subscribe to AI tools or buy enough data to create consistently.

I have also gone into lending money just to survive, and thankfully, I am currently paying off the last loan. I know I can't continue with that because I didn't even have a stable salary in the first place, yet I kept putting myself under more financial pressure.

I have tried forex too. I was making small changes here and there, but now I can't even fund my account.

I also have an AI Facebook page with about 141k followers, but I have stopped posting completely. The cost of data is one major reason, coupled with the restrictions Facebook has placed on my page.

YouTube is another option. I have been getting good views, but the question is: where do I get the money to fund the content creation?

Last year, I also worked for a lady abroad. She promised to help me start a business when she came to Nigeria, but nothing came out of it.

At one point, she asked me to go to a Chinese depot to collect her goods. It was Boxing Day, and the request was very impromptu. I didn't even know the place, and I explained this to her.

Even when I needed money to handle things for her, she preferred that I use my own money first, promising to refund me and sometimes add ₦5,000. When I refused to continue doing that, she stopped contacting me about the work.

This year, she eventually sent me Glow Live and asked me to join her agency.

The truth is, I love technology. I enjoy working with phones, computers, AI and other technological things. I would also genuinely love to work under a proper company where I can learn, grow and earn a decent income.

The problem is that I am currently an SSCE holder, and I don't know how much that is limiting my opportunities.

People around me are also discouraging me from leaving my present job because they say there are hardly any good jobs where I live. They keep telling me that most of the better opportunities are on the Island and that the stress of travelling or working there may not be worth it.

But honestly, I don't know what to do anymore.

I haven't posted on my YouTube channel or Facebook page for about a week and a half because I'm just overwhelmed with everything.

I am not looking for pity. I genuinely need advice.

If you were in my position, what would you do?

Should I continue managing this teaching job while actively searching for another one?

Should I focus on learning a tech skill and try to get a job in the tech space despite being an SSCE holder?

Should I go back to creating AI content despite the cost?

Or is there another realistic business or skill I can start with little or no capital?

If you have been in a similar situation and eventually found your way out, please share your experience with me.

I would really appreciate genuine advice, job leads, ideas or even suggestions on skills I can learn that can help me become financially independent.

My dear You're right I remember when things were hard for me I couldn't even open up to some of them instead na everyday billings and if I don't pay there's a particular intercessor woman leader she'll now be doing face for me.

When church is having service she'll come and ask me for pastor's upkeep and I can barely feed myself. I had to stop coming still yet they talked about me and said I was backsliding. Started noticing some people giving me cold shoulders too.

Everyone is human nobody is perfect you see some of those holy people they're usually the worst because their hearts are very black to accept people who're not their tribe, religion, status,even petty things too.

Okay Op breathe first this whole brother wife, brother family is kind of confusing me but I think you should ask your wife rather than assume what went wrong between them. Besides because they're both married to the two brothers doesn't mean they're supposed to be close.

Now that your brother wants to bind with your son,you can always make a video call across and all of that. Just allow them get their spaces with time everything might just come in place.

Don't tell your brother anything and don't always think that your wife might be the villain No. Don't take sides speak to your brother as you should,speak to his wife and also their kids. Then you can ask her to greet him.

If you want a bonding moment tell her you want to visit your bro it's been long. See just don't take it too deep maybe before this year ends they'll eventually stop and if they don't your brother is your brother still bond you no understand my point.

Call him you know,both of you can still communicate without the wife issues popping up. As far as I'm concerned it's nothing and if you even want his kids to come over you'll know how to tell her.


Marriage is understanding feel free happy don't be angry or moody just act like you no send anybody. Afterall she didn't tell you what happened between them.

That's my advice oh because you're making your wife look bad don't judge what you're seeing and just feel free.

It's well but the man hasn't said anything so I will just stay quiet and mind my business. Afterall everyone with their life

Oh, you are female. Doesn't change much though but you still have it easier and for the fact you are always trying to pay your debt and not owe people, that's a very good strait, because most lady are into the illusion of deserving easy life without having to work for it.

45k in a month? When I did 40k for 15 days as security. This one I'm doing now, my Uncle who is my Boss pays me 60k at least every 28 days for a work I do like 5 times in a month. And this month that I did more than 10 times, I was paid about 130-150k. First change your mindset, always believe you deserve any opportunities you see that you feel the money is too much for that work, but believing you deserve it doesn't mean you become entitled, appreciate your creator every time you receive a pay and the payer(employer) I will just stop here because it's a deep spiritual something. Me saying spiritual don't mean juju or church, your mindset is spiritual because it's not physical. Mental and spiritual means the same to me.

You're absolutely right and I am working on what you told me I feel pity for my employers because I see how they are struggling but I can see that they don't feel the same for me. Imagine adding a whole 10k to school fees I didn't even know the staffs aren't up to 10 still yet my salary wasn't increased through last academic session.

If not for a parent that asked me for school details and I went to meet them I won't know at all.

I can't continue getting emotional and feeling sorry because now at its stands they are only after their own pocket.

is not lie. If you borrow loan from opay and still have funds in your account, the won't touch you money, but the interest on your loan will keep adding up.. they won't force you to pay back, they can only remind you to pay back the loan, but if you don't the interest will keep adding up daily.

Op the room looks great at least you're not leaving in a house that is leaking or with deeps holes inside you have a TV and also a tiled ground. Many people live under the bridge and some don't have a home. When God blesses you you will definitely do more.

If you have a younger brother that want to furnish his apartment and he cannot afford your lifestyle abeg fund the house and if you have one that's doing great with a good apartment thank God no be everyone be like you.

The driver refused to obey the mechanic request of waiting till the vehicle is repaired properly....because he wanted to make money he didn't think about the bad road,they went for the excursion successfully but when they were coming back they had to pass a sloppy mountain road because of the rain it became very slippery and the vehicle lost control.

3 months ago I planted small portion with groundnut to test. I've never grown it before.

Everything went well. It was more than 10x easier than growing cucumber. But as harvest approach, a thief came and harvested everything this morning.

The ones I managed to harvest is shown below. This is one of the silent challenges farmers face. But it won't discourage me from planting plenty groundnut, ginger, tumeric and pepper this year. So long as the thief keeps coming, I'll soon catch him/her. With God, there is no problem without solution.
