let's assumed u know everything, is it by insult that u educate people? Anyway, I maintain that the subsidy scheme is a scam especially on domestic production. Where on earth will I produce my own corn and mill it myself with my machine and reference some dangote price as the determinant of my rate when I want to eat tuwo? By the way why the argument for local refineries as way of making products available and cheap when already the little being produced locally are not cheaper than imported ones?
I am not under any obligation to educate you, neither do you have the right to speak on subjects you have no idea whatsoever, thereby misinforming the public, I was actually in a good mood when i responded to you, if you felt insulted then you need to make one wrong move to feel what a real insult is.
Most of you have no serious education, the few who are educated are barely enlightened, to think you have the right to be spreading misinformation on a broad forum like this is laughable cos a lot of us are ready to throw a serious punch once you mis fire.
If you dont know, ask, nobody will blame you for reading comments without contributing, If you throw in misinformation, you get hurt, I care less about the emotions of a block head who uses the internet for pornography other than studying with it.
That is the only way we can sanitize this place and rid it of infantile radicalism.

In other words, it makes more sense for the Niger-Delta Man to stay in Nigeria and have 3 masters (Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba) than to be in Biafra and have only one? It makes more sense to the Niger-Delta Man to share his Oil wealth with the entire Nigeria because in Biafra "He will share it with only Igbos". I'm struggling not to laugh. The Niger-Delta Man is fighting for resource control while a major conspiracy was hatched and executed just few months ago that kicked a Niger-Delta man out of office and took all political control from you people. Who were the only people who stood by GEJ and the Niger-Delta to the end? There is no need for too much argument. If the Niger-Delta are are happy to continue being slaves in Nigeria while everybody enjoys there Oil money, I'm all for it too. Obviously your not from the Niger-Delta because no Niger-Delta man can be this stupiid.
Your opinion bro, until I see a clear MOU between the ND leaders and Biafra then I will take you seriously, for now you are only making noise.

From your personal message below, it shows you are a mere Northern elite apologist. I must tell you that you have not made yourself quite convincing enough with your cosmetic explanation.
Rather than build Agro-allied and food processing industries to maximize your strong points and create the much needed local employment where it is much needed, you had to get your zone involved in the miry business. Let us see how much intelligent the planners are in these days of shale oil, falling oil prices and green energy.

What a load of rubbish. People come here to display crass ignorance. Was the crew all Nigerian? Wasn't the commander an American? Why haven't aircraft with all Nigerian crew been falling off the sky everyday? Why doesn't Caverton with almost 95% local content have safety issues? Or have u heard of caverton crashing or having any accident? Why did Dana crash occur with an all expat crew(American and indian) since they are so superior to Nigerians. Why didn't the American turn to superman and save the aircraft in the first place?
Do you know how difficult it is to be shortlisted, pass the cadet interview, how hard it is to graduate from Bristow flying school and how difficult it is to finally get on the line as a Nigerian even in our own country?

Fear gripped my arse the first time I saw those Nigerian Pilots, i understand the local content thing but Nigerians have serious fundamental issues when it comes to safety, there is another little girl in her early 20's doing NAOC projects.
It really scares me, most white guys attitude to work can not be compared to that of Nigerians, there should be critical sectors of the economy that should enthrone competence above politics.
When there is serious national re orientation, where humanities will be enshrined in an average black man only then will I trust a Nigerian pilot.
I guess Bristow will have to skip the "unlikely event of an emergency" in their safety briefing.

Is the co pilot not HUET trained? why should a co pilot "die" in a heli- lagoon crash? it doesn't really make sense.
I trust the survivors are HUET trained.
I saw the picture where the Engine burst into flames before plunging into the lagoon, the Cabin was still intact till impact so why would anyone die?
Perhaps the romance between SPDC and Bristow will be broken with this incident, Bristow had an emergency lagoon landing just last yr and now this?

I see you have a penchant for talking nonsense. I asked a question here and you are talking off-point. If you meet a person who's language is Igbo and has an Igbo surname, is this person Igbo? I know many Ikwere who are proud to be Igbo while others reject there 'Igbones' because of oil. People like you are just after the Oil of the South-South people that's why you would be happy for the Ikwere Man to forget his Igbo identity. Let me tell you something, these people will choose Biafra over Nigeria any day because in truth, they gain nothing from Nigeria. Wether you like it or not, we Igbos and our kith and kin are going to leave this "Whiteman fabricated camp" you people call 'Nigeria' and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Biafra is not negotiable.
You think that a Niger deltan will wish to switch from Master Nigeria to Master Biafra? what events in our history actually suggest that?
I don't really care what you tell yourself to feel good but I can tell you that given the opportunity, the Niger deltan will rather fight for self actualization than switching masters.
Make no mistakes, the Niger deltans recently fought a war of self determination with 6 active militant groups to control their resources, they did not invite the Biafrans, as a matter of undisputed fact, Izon and Itshekiri are still in a war of attrition till date, never mind that they had a bloody confrontation last decade for this same reason and you think time has changed because a lunatic like Nnamdi Kalu in far away London is telling you otherwise?
You must not remind the world that you were born r@tarded. A surprise await you Biafrans in the delta, Ojukwu's bloody nose will be child's play, continue foooling yourselves.

How exactly is it that we produce crude oil from the coast and pass pipelines millions of kilometres underground to the north and claim that as a success? In the days of Boko haram, what does the north have to do with refining petroleum products when the pipes can easily be hijacked by the evil does? I wont be surprised if we have to deal with cases of oil spillage in the North someday. Economic planners in Nigeria are truly brainless
Kaduna refinery was not designed to refine light crude (in lay man's terms) produced in the delta at the onset, the Kaduna refinery was serving the purpose of supplying refined products to the north and also a national contingency programme.
The oil refined in Kaduna was imported at the time, it was done in a way that if there is trouble in the delta that no oil can come out from there, Kaduna will hold the fort with imported crude as an emergency response.

It was recently when heavy crude(in layman's terms) became expensive and the refineries in the south collapsed, that the idea was jettisoned and the refinery was remodelled to crack light crude. That was the ingenuity of our heroes past, when our leaders used to think.
There was no ethnic motive whatsoever, it was based strictly on national interest.

In my opinion, do you guys have any idea how much it will cost to run a pipeline from the south to the north and the risk of transporting refined products against crude, let me give you a few examples;

The Transborder keystone pipeline will span a distance of 1,897km at a cost of $7b, if you factor in inflation terms that sum at the time Kaduna refinery was built would be nearly $4b, meanwhile Kaduna refinery cost around $500m.

So it is cheaper to build a refinery than transporting over a long distance, the money for the pipelines alone will get us about 6 more refineries.
The refinery will create more direct and indirect jobs more that a massive pipeline project of that nature, so it makes perfect economic sense to have a refinery in Kaduna, than transporting refined products over a long distance.
Our leaders past (Economic planners like you put it) were not brainless you are.

igerian first Refinery, Port Harcourt Refinery located at Alesa Eleme, was built by Shell Petroleum and British Petroleum from 1963 to 1965. The company operates two oil refineries including an old plant commissioned in 1965 that can process 60,000 barrels of oil per stream day and the new plant commissioned in 1989, which has a capacity of 150,000 bpsd.

Buhari Joined the army as a recruit in 1962 and for sure will not have built this Refinery.

The Warri Refinery was awarded by Yakubu Gowon to Snamprogetti Spa Milan, Italy in 1975 (in this period, Buhari was the governor of North-eastern state) at the cost of $478 million and commenced operation in 1978 (now few months as Petroleum Minister). It had the design capacity of 100,000 b/d.
The Kaduna Refinery was awarded by Murtala Mohammed in 1976 and was built by Chiyoda Engineering and Construction Company – a Japanese firm, at the cost of $525 million and was completed by Obasanjo in 1979 (Buhari’s tenure as the Petroleum. Minister ended in 1978).
It had two refining streams (50,000 b/d fuels units) and (50,000 b/d lubes, waxes Asphalt plants).
Port Harcourt 11 as we mentioned above was awarded by Gen IBB in 1985 with an installed capacity of 150,000 b/d and completed in 1989.
Meanwhile in 1985, IBB undertook an expansion of the capacities of the fuels units in both Warri and Kaduna refineries to 125,000b/d and 110,000b/d respectively. He therefore added 185,000b/d capacity to the total 445,000b/d as at 1989. No further addition has been added till date.
So, when did Buhari build the four refineries? huh huh huh huh huh
I won't say buhari built Nigeria's all four refineries, the truth is that he built only Warri refineries, according to OBJ, the award of the contract led the contractor to do procurement alone for 1yr without building anything, Buhari was appointed petroleum commissioner who oversaw the completion of that project.
Some People would have been the Minister yet embezzle the funds so yes, Buhari delivered Warri refinery.
How many ministers of health did it take before UNTH relocated to their permanent site? but when one does it you won't give him the credit?
How long has the proposal to move NAUTH to its permanent site been in the works, how many Ministers of health has long passed?

So a man who brought sincerity of purpose where others failed should be given some credit.

The lower the intl. crude price, the less subsidy you pay on locally refined products, at present, I think there should be no subsidy for locally refined products because the price of crude is pretty low.
