pazienza: The demand for Igbo nation independence is greater than Nnamdi Kanu. If it proved to be greater than Ojukwu himself and the cerebral Achebe, for they are late yet the demand have only intensified, who then is Kanu? The Igbo spirit is too strong to be caged by Nigeria.
Kanu is but a foot soldier in the Igbo demand for independence, he has a role, and is playing it to the fullest. If you think he represents all there is about the Igbo push for independence, then you must have mis calculated. Tell him to start his struggle on the truth not the lies he is peddling. Tell him that Zik's speech that garnered the support of the Igbos to the Journey that led to an independent Nigeria is framed on my sitting room. No lies all statement of facts. A revolution based on lies is mere buffoonery, tell him I said so!! |

Imokay: Conversion rate for petrol (gasoline) averages 45 - 51% with cracking by FCCU, Diesel will be like 20 - 25% Out of 71 million litres of crude daily that should give about 32 million litres of petrol alone. I don't know how optimized the PRCN FCCU is, I ve not seen its calibration parameters unless you have seen, then I may believe you.
The standard is 1bbl yields 19gals of pms.
ie 159l of crude yield 76liters of PMS. Most Pet.Engrs know that, you may be right though!

MaziOmenuko: The probe on NNPC has not even been commissioned yet and they are squealing already!
Its amazing how the operations of NNPC that had always been shrouded in secrecy is being openly and generously shared with the media. NNPC seems to be over-willing to talk to the press and release info after operating like a secret cult for years.
Note that the combined capacity of our refineries happens to be 445,000 barrels per day. 1bbl = 151.4 litres. (445,000 x 151 = 67mil litres of locally produced fuel).
If our refineries work at full capacity, we will turn out 67mil litres per day, use 40mil litres for local consumption and still have surplus 27mil litres to export.
So when president Buhari said he doesn't understand the concept of 'subsidy' he knows exactly what he is saying. NNPC knows this and that's why they are now willing to do the right thing. It would have been business as usual if GEJ had won. They would have continued their unending promises of fixing the refineries to no end.
I keep saying, subsidy was and still remains a scam. Liters of crude oil does not automatically equate to Liters of petroleum derivative. |

Ndiigbo need not be drawn to what is happening in Calabar, if Cross riverians will not utter a single word, if they will just play the ostrich, then we let them be, just like we did during the Bakkassi saga!
No need taunting or mocking them. Just observe them.
Buhari already has his eyes set on cracking down on the militants, his next target should be the secessionists, which Ndiigbo at this moment are at the forefront.
We should be strategizing. You have been listening to the rants of Nnamdi Kalu on radio Biafra. After one week of listening to that Lunatic, this is what I think about him;
* Nnamdi kalu claim to be courageous yet he broadcast through satellite with a an unmanned downlink in Nigeria, needless to say he is abroad and playing back his deranged DVD with no physical presence in Nigeria, who is fooling who? Where is Nnamdi Kalu's family? courageous indeed!!
* Nnamdi Kalu is living under the false assumption that Niger delta is part of Biafra, a show of maximum stupidity and poor student of history. Ojukwu made that assumption too, by August 1968, Isaac Adaka boro (A Niger deltan) dealt him a severe blow in the battle of portharcourt. Ojukwu was left gnashing his teeth. Niger delta struggle has been settled with an Amnesty programme, was the biafrans invited? why should Nnamdi Kalu think Igbos should be concerned about what happened in Calabar?
* Nnamdi Kalu is giving the impression that Niger delta is the friend while Yorubas are the enemies, well, after the declaration "No victor No vanquished", haven lost everything to a decimated South East and no financial muscle, Igbos ran to the diaspora to reclaim their assets, Yorubas returned every damn thing (a very rare gesture expected from an enemy) while the Niger delta declared abandoned property on the Igbos.
* Nnamdi Kalu is yet to tell the Biafrans what the economy of an independent Biafra will thrive on, is it the Egbema, Assa, Owoza, Oguta, Ebeocha oil fields? please remind him that even with these K Leg oil fields, Imo and Abia states could not assume a proper oil producing status in Nigeria, with their outrageous debt profile. I guess he is yet to read the ecological report on the dredging of the River Niger. By the time he is enlightened to that level, he will realise that his Biafran dream is landlocked and will have to depend heavily on Nigeria for most things, needless to say that a portless Biafra will murder the economic dream of Igbos who are majorly importers.
* Yesterday one of his callers from Germany said that he is suffering in diaspora, that the best job he has ever done was sanitation jobs, yet he had the temerity to donate €500 to Kalu to purchase arms and destabilise the livelihoods of well meaning igbos. And the jobless British lady who doesn't know the difference between Calabar and South East Nigeria.
* Nnamdi Kalu claim that the gods sent him to restore Biafra I wonder why the gods failed to strike Ojukwu when he abandoned the first struggle?
* Listen to Nnamdi Kalu at your own risk!!

Pls don't bother much about detractors. Ur solutions r not cast in stone so if someone has some better solution they should tell us without personal attacks. I will go through the whole thread and return.
Thanks for the effort. Congrats The funny thing is that since I opened the thread, six pages gone, I am yet to see any solution, or model except for Balarite's attempt, the only thing I wasted three weeks solving was caging a goat whose concern was the difference between "interest and asset in an oil production asset", I stayed off for a while, I just peep once in a while to see if sane people have come on with a model so we can compare notes, but hey! where are they? political mosquitoes and first class nuisance like kabnonic are yet to give up, we will see how it goes in the end.

Aura2: This is what I think about you;
You dont care about Jp's plan You don't care about how his plan will benefit the Nigerian people. You are only interested in protecting the people who have created the inefficiencies that Jp has exposed, that is why you duel on pettiness that has no relevance to the issue at hand.
if you are not looking for co ordinating Minister, you are looking for interest vs assets, we are all laymen in the oil and gas industry and people should be able to sell their views without intimidation.
Jp has exposed a lot of fraud that needs to be looked into for the greater good but you won't stop with your distractions and insults.
**At the very least, we now know that a lot of things were handled badly by the finance ministry which all accumulated in the subsidy the Govt is crying about
** We know that NPDC is not a totally useless agency if we do the right thing .
** We know the direct relationship between power and subsidy,
** We know that most Nigerian refineries have no feedstock.
** We know now that subsidy plays the role of consumer protection, reason it should not be removed out rightly.
These are issues that I am sure most Nigerians like myself don't know about, your evil machinations will not allow us to learn anything, you write long unrelated nonsense just to make the thread unreadable yet not addressing the main issues.
You could hardly answer any direct questions that indicts your pay masters, rather you quickly degenerate to insults and you are not alone in this madness since I went through the thread.
I will pray for you to repent but if you continue with this demonic exercise you may not have the privilege to leave office like Jonathan, you may likely meet your end. Don't say I didn't warn you, Nigerians are watching.
NECONDE AS A CONSORTIUM HAS NO PEDIGREE, IT IS WRONG TO BEQUEATH PARTICIPATING INTEREST TO THEM!!
You could not prove that Gobowen is not the highest stakeholder in the NECONDE CONSORTIUM, yet Jp proved that the only experience they have is a marginal field acquired in 2013 operated with some other company, Can you run your private company like that? because it is Nigeria then anything goes, what is wrong with you?
Why are you protecting and supporting evil? Are you for Nigerians or against them because of underlying selfish interest?
God is watching you. Look no further;

VULCAN: I want to congratulate jpphillips, 989900 and others who have some REAL knowledge of what happens behind the scenes in the Nigerian downstream oil and gas sector. You have responded well to the OP's weak attempt to convince us of the need to "immediately" remove The Subsidy.
Having read almost every post here I gleaned a few things about the OP
1. He is completely ignorant of the workings of our downstream sector. To load his first post with petrol price figures from 2012 was his first albatross. It proved that he was working from a predetermined answer back to the question. More evidence of this is his over reliance on info from Google. If ur fully involved in a thing when you talk people will know.
2. He has no form of understanding of the causes or potentially destructive results of galloping inflation in a country that is import dependent. Relative to its size Nigeria produces nothing- whether goods or services. The City of London props up the entire British economy via its financial sector. Man, for now oil is all we got. Three times or so he says that an increase in petrol price from N87 to N220 will have no effect on Nigerians. Obviously he avoided Macroeconomics class in school.
3. He is a very callous being. Anybody who can't afford to run their car at N220 should park it according to him.
4. He is very deceptive. He skillfully ignored the fact that EVERY thriving Western economy has subsidies(in one form or another) in place for the betterment of the lives of their people.
5. He is bereft of any deep thinking on this matter. I might have been swayed if he had a superior strategy and tactics to make his immediate subsidy removal work but all he does is present emotional pleas about whether we want our unborn kids to suffer. Beer parlour arguments I must say. Nothing of substance just fluff in his arguments. Pity.
My prayer for you is that God will not permit your type position of National Influence because you're obviously too immature to take us to the next level.
Let me stop here for now. But before I continue I would like peeps to present here some more workable ideas (that dont involve the destruction of the masses)for our enlightenment. www.nairaland.com/2350809/subsidy-removal-way-out/4 |

[quote author=kaboninc post=34696203] Why I kept on hammering on the subject of Russian Government's interference in the devaluation of the currency was because I thought you were of average inteligence. Alas, you are not. You kept bringing up "govt banks stopped issuing LOC's for importers, but rather the LOCs were routed through private banks" as indicated up there shows how shallow you are.
For the record, the Russian Government "owned banks" DID NOT issue any LOC in 1998 for any importers except, of course, it was you! Only the government banks you own issue LOC. I hope you even know what an LOC is. class A comprehension deficiency, it took you 2 weeks to get the point I made on in one paragraph, I wonder how many years it will take you to understand phase 1 to 6
Secondly, the fall of crude oil prices was not the major reason rather it contributed. The spoils of war was the major cost that led to Russian economy crises. Stop deceiving people here. Another comprehension deficiency, who asked you this? what has it got to do with the discussion? what relevance does it have on this thread? The ones you were asked left you confused and now this? stop overwhelming your brain, or you got confused after typing the first paragraph? you cannot even right to the point when given an opportunity, damn!! you are worse than I thought.
Shssssss!!!! Don't let people hear this from you...... Dam.n!! You just hate to learn. Why is it so if I may ask? Soludo at no time CO-ORDINATED our economy. Obasanjo was his own coordinating minister of the economy and chairman of the economic management team— which he chaired for 90 minutes every week. I met with him daily. In other words, he did not outsource economic management. I supply the ideas, he supplies the political will for implementation...............Prof Chukwuma Soludo. 4b. Chairman/Coordinator, Drafting Committee for Nigeria’s reform programme under President Obasanjo, called “National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS)” You don't even know the relationship between a drop in crude prices and an economic meltdown! As per if we paid exchange rate differentials, I told you to go read up your books especially on elementary economics. When you do, consider this hint: consider the length of time the price of crude was down and the landing cost of PMS within that time. Also consider to price sold at the retail stations. When you do, you come over. Comprehension deficiency, please can someone explain to him what I asked him Imagine someone I asked this question" Again, when Soludo co ordinated our Economy, Nigeria imported petroleum products, there was not only a drop in crude prices but also an economic meltdown that forced Soludo to devalue the Naira, why did we not pay exchange rate differentials then? Here comes his response; You don't even know the relationship between a [b]drop in crude prices and an economic meltdown! As per if we paid exchange rate differentials, I told you to go read up your books especially on elementary economics. When you do, consider this hint: consider the length of time the price of crude was down and the landing cost of PMS within that time. Also consider to price sold at the retail stations. When you do, you come over. Mr confusion, no vex, how much means say a figure in monetary terms. How can I ask someone how much was paid, instead of mentioning a figure or at the very least admit he doesn't know, he rants a full useless paragraph for nothing.
I laugh at you. Why because you reasoning is shallow. Not deep and may never be deep! It is a fact. A Special Purpose Vehicle (Neconde) was set up to acquire a stake in a project. In assessing the capabilities, technicalities and soundness of the SPV, do you dwell on the SPV as an entity, as you are currently doing with Neconde? Or the parties that formed the SPV?
As an analogy, what is the pedigree of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company? or Transmission Company of Nigeria, of Seplat Energy (as at 2011)?
Again, you are not anywere close to average intelligence. Finally, someone has admitted that NECONDE as a consortium has no pedigree, based on this unanimous admittance, phase four is proposed to return all those assets back to NPDC, you see how easy it is, once you answer a question directly without sermon, a solution is never far fetched!!
Brother, I wish you could tell us how bad the DSO model is for gas in Nigeria.
Hint: For the fact other countries practice a particular policy doesn't mean it can work in ours! Did you notice that it took you almost 2 weeks to come up to speed with some elements in my subsidy proposal? imagine what will happen if I add DSO to your imbroglio, I fear you may end up with stroke!! For safety reasons, the subsidy removal plan has already overwhelmed your brain, you need six months to practise comprehension, as soon as I am satisfied you have the mental capacity to handle DSO, then I will open a thread specially for that.
The way you are going, you may end up in a mental shock!! I cant be held responsible for that, I am glad that phase 1 to 4 is within your grasp, when someone who understands 5&6 joins the conversation, you may learn a thing or two. TGIF *cobana*

baralatie: that is the problem, partial subsidy of petroleum as at now is killing govt and even the cabals can see it can't be sustained. a system has to be structure to negate "racketeering",what if a price structure and control regime is in place through a governing council (e.g. like what is been practiced under telecoms) Point of correction, the cabals want subsidy removed more than Nigerians want it, the Jonathan's administration sold us a dummy during the 2012 crisis!! The telecom model will not work because Petroleum products are essential commodities, once you remove subsidy, you cannot decide for the cabal what to sell, so you have left yourself vulnerable to price fixing, hoarding and other forms of economic sabotage, that was what we saw in AGO. with a subsidy regimen, the government can easily intervene, it got so bad that even the Government's products are stored in the tank farms of the same cabal, so once they down tools, the government is trapped. just one example of such inefficiencies that phase 1 will address. |
