Can I cut the biter leaf in bits and mix in their food. I started adding dry moringa leaf in their feed.

Most times coccidiosis is caused by dirty litter. Change your litter.
There are times coccidiossis is confused with ecoli infection. Ecoli infection is very similar to coccidiosis but treated by antibiotics.

You won't believe I change my litter almost every morning. It used to be every 3 days. But recently we started changing every day or 2 days interval.

no you don't need to put any plastic. as a matter of fact they enjoy scrapping the concrete wall as they gain extra calcium from it.

just leave the way it is and mks sure it's well covered and well ventilated.

Hi I have read from through the thread very informative. I want to know if plastic vats can be used to rear snails. It's like a big drum 4ft by 6ft and it 2 feet high.

I eventually lost 90% of my fries on Saturday D 13th day o. On Friday night my pumping machine got spoilt Nd couldn't repair it until d next morning. I tot d water in d geepee tank will sustain me through d night but only to discover dat d water stoped flowing in d middle of d night and almost all my fries were gone. Don't really know if dat was a reason for dem to die cos d water stoped flowing through only just for few hours. Thanks to all that have really been of help. I guess am finally signing out on hatching.

I think after 4 failures you should be able to know where your mistakes are coming from. Most times it's always water. I guess u should get an aerator and also check the quality of your water. For them to survive to 3 weeks then you have been successful it's just that your water stopped flowing so get a backup tank to store more water and try again.

Sometime last year a guy introduced the bio disc to me and told me about its numerous benefit but I declined.. After much persuation I gave it a try and it has been outstanding since then.. I don't get casualties as such,my fishes are always very active and smart, and they grow faster..

Aslo in the hatchery the importance of Bio disc cannot be over emphasised... Anytime I hacth almost 90% of the eggs hatch, and the mortality rate is very low, they are always active from day one... I get over 60k fries just from a single female fish alone and the survival rate is tremendous... My students can testify of this..

I employ fish farmers who have the capacity to get a bio disc to purchase one and see its numerous benefits and have a bumper harvest.. God bless

Hello everyone, please I would appreciate any and every advise on building a concrete pond for catfish. I have plans for six 10ft (L) x 6ft (W) x 4ft (D) dimension pond. What do you suggest I do to avoid any mistakes? How many fish can be stocked in this pond size from fingerling to maturity for optimal growth? Is it advisable to put tiles in the pond walls after plastering? How soon after building the pond can I stock? How much water should I have in the pond for the required amount of fish? To know the stocking density do a calculation to get the volume of the tank. For a 10x6x4ft the volume will be 6.912. So if you can stock 90 fishes per square meter it will be 90*6.192=557fishes. So it also depends on the type of system you are doing. I will suggest you use 15ft length 6ft Width and 4ft depth to achieve 1000 fishes. As for the construction let the professionals handle that. I'm also looking so someone to construct for me in Portharcourt.

I harvested last Saturday, for the first time I made a very reasonable profit using the gelatine feed, a friend I introduced the feed has been thanking me ever since the rate at which they grow and gain weight with an FCR of 0.8 is amazing. You can start giving them from fingerlings

Ok noted. I want to build concrete pond in Portharcourt can anyone help with contacts of people that specialize in building concrete pond. I know some ponds collapse if its not well constructed.
