Romance › Re: Why Are Uneducated Ladies Often Lucky In Finding Good Husbands? (Photo) by JuanDeDios: 10:04pm On Nov 26, 2024 |
Gistmedia10: A thought-provoking question posed by a lady has taken the internet by storm. In her post, she asked, "Why are most of the uneducated ladies so lucky in finding good husbands?"
This query has sparked a heated debate, with netizens sharing varying opinions on what might be a complex societal phenomenon.
Some believe uneducated women are seen as more traditional or submissive, traits some men prefer, while others credit qualities like kindness or family values over luck.
Critics, however, reject the idea, arguing education doesn’t determine marital success, as educated women also find supportive partners.
The debate has sparked thousands of comments on personal experiences and societal expectations. What’s your take—luck, perception, or something else?
Should we tell her? |

thesicilian: If they're setting up a new political party in 2025 then their target should be 2031, not 2027. There's no way a 2yr old party is going to defeat an incumbent, corrupt party in 2027. It's just not realistic. I think they'll adopt an existing party - you know, like Zenith Labour Party. An uphill task, but Atiku has money and Obi has Obidients. |

UltraSolid: Sir., I appreciate your pessimism. I am pessimistic too but know this must work. Buhari and his lot took us for our last Kobo and Nigeria is now poorer than an Ajegunle church Rat.
Nigerians are really suffering. I just give as charitably as I can afford to and pray for folks.
I even read this morning Tiwa Savage saying Nigerians thrive at music because the country is so difficult that young people have no choice but to turn to their musical talents to survive. It is true. A nation so bereft of opportunities to the extent music, politics, kidnapping, crime, 'connections' and fraud, not professional opportunities, are now seen as ways out of poverty by many youths.
We are really broke and what most Nigerians don't understand is that no miracle can save us unless we develop new and appreciable income to use to get off our hospital bed of fatal disease to then heal, be able to work, succeed and thrive moving forward .
We better pray it works because people are being simplistic and ignorant thinking there is a magic wand somewhere some leader can wave and all will be well. Yeah, no magic wand. It's small small things like this. |

UltraSolid: Your point about privatisation will ordinarily be valid and the right course of action in buoyant times. Yet we cannot privatise right now as that will be tantamount to economic suicide.
Part of our gravest and most acute problem as a nation currently is dearth of income and especially forex-linked income.
We need to run refineries professionally, profitably and efficiently for years, to gain appreciable income from exporting refined derivatives of crude (where the real money is) and then use such to turn around the socio-economic fortunes of Nigeria plus begin to grow national reserves and invest in our human and material resources.
Remember we are a cash-strapped mono economy, reliant mainly on crude oil income, now desperately needing short term injection of cash that will allow us develop many other moribund sectors like agriculture etal. We cannot turn our back on the option of exportable PMS and other refined derivatives of crude as our short term saviour. You're right, but I hope they WORK. These refineries just don't work, not since the 1990s even though billions have been spent on them. |

Merchandiservic: This NNPC move is a breath of fresh air! Finally, we can breathe easy knowing that Dangote won't have a monopoly over our petrol supply. Competition is key to keeping prices fair and ensuring we don't end up paying through the nose. If we let one player control everything, we’re just setting ourselves up for another disaster. By the way, if you're looking for a share apartment in Lekki or need short-let options around Lekki and Lagos Island, hit me up! I can help you find a cozy spot or even accommodate someone in an extra room for a fee. Let's make living in Lagos easier together! That's if it doesn't go back to its default state of non-functionality. They better privatise them like OBJ tried to do. |

Then in the 3rd and 4th year, abandon governance and invest heavily in re-election campaign. You dey mind them. He knows who he's fooling. |

Samantha125: I know two women who naturally had their last born children while in their 50s and the children are healthy.
So having children over the age of 40 might be risky, but it's still possible.
Or the woman can decide to have her eggs frozen until she's found the right man and then have a surrogate carry the children for her... We are far more wiser than our forefathers with the kind of technology we have today. What percentage of Nigeria's population are rich enough to afford all these? |

Crime › Re: Sunday Abidoye Found Dead In Creestar Hotel, Sagamu, Ogun State by JuanDeDios: 11:08am On Nov 22, 2024 |
dominique: The detectives should have arrested the hotel staff at that point. They've tampered with a possible crime scene so terribly to the point of moving the corpse, I'm sure they also cleaned the room and disposed of every foreign object in it. Nigerian law and enforcement have a long way to go in forensics. You're right about forensics - the problem is that it doesn't currently exist in Nigeria police. If it did, the police would have sensitized these hotels on what to do in these situations. Given that, and the fact there's no prima facie case of foul play, an arrest here would be an overkill. |
