Good point but the battle isn’t over. At least it shouldn’t be. LP/Obidients should keep pushing if they mean well. It took a lot for APC to dethrone PDP.

A lot of Nigerians lack conscience and don’t understand democracy. It’s the FGs job to unite the citizens. At least that’s what governments with good intentions do. Their job isn’t to “punish” those who didn’t vote. All commoners will suffer from bad government. People criticized Igbos for not voting Buhari. Buhari reaffirmed this position with his 97% 5% vote comment. At the end, Igbos should be applauded for refusing to support one of the worst presidents in Nigeria’s history. At the end of the day, you aren’t immune to fuel and money scarcity because your tribesman is SGF or Senate President.

In my opinion, Obi was never going to get votes in the North. However, without rigging, no candidate would have scored 25% in 24 states. In a rerun, Obi would have a great chance of winning.

The federal government needs to be proactive. Lagos is indisputably Yoruba land but Nigerians should be able to live anywhere in peace without intimidation because of election. Agreeing to be a democratic One Nigeria is agreeing for Nigerians from any tribe to be able to live freely in any part of Nigeria. If you have a problem with a candidate, don’t vote for the candidate. Stop fighting for politicians who would keep counting money after you die for them.

We can have civil discussions beloved. It’s possible to rig without winning. If you believe APC didn’t rig in Lagos then that’s fine. We all saw videos online. We all know people in Lagos and other states.

Tinubu isn’t as accepted in the SW as Obi is in the SE. Tinubu is old and not in the best state of health. His supporters would rightfully use this against him if he was the opposition. This doesn’t mean he didn’t win where he won but APC absolutely has reason to rig in the SW.

He doesn’t have to authorize rigging but his supporters can rig in his favor. People also rig in states where they will win and where they have power to counter their opponents rigging elsewhere.

There’s a reason it isn’t happening in other Yoruba states. This is democracy. It’ll eventually happen in other states though. FCT gets FCT ministers that aren’t indigenes.

I’m sure all parties rigged. The duty of INEC and our security agencies is to prevent it. This doesn’t mean candidates shouldn’t challenge the results if they didn’t instruct anyone to cheat on their behalf. We can’t keep having election results based on who rigged pass. The fact that people couldn’t get their PVCs is another form of rigging INEC must address. We also saw videos of PUs where elections were not held or where boxes were tampered with. INEC cannot see all that and be quick to announce winners. Nigeria MUST do better if we believe we are ready for democracy because we frankly are not.
