most of the academia really sees too much error in formal school setup. They thought is a way milking them dry . They rather do it by themselves.

Also too much religious activity have also made some individual anti-social. Too gentle for my liking .

I have a relative who was home school thru out his basic education ( just because of religion dogma) , he only went to university for his tertiary education. To be honest , he didn't do bad at all. He is currently doing his national service with national health insurance .

Though the father is an academian
I don't know why people in Academia like to home school their children longer than normal.

The the kid turn out anti social?

The projections are mine. The maths are solid. Kenya generate 21B total revenues - that is 20 percent of GDP - as should be expected for our economy. Kenya average growth has been around 6 percent.

Kenya GDP 2010 - 40B - Kenya GDP 2020-100B. Ghana 2010 - 32 - 2020 -72B. The rest are your hallucinations. Kenya has moved from position 12 in Africa to now position 6 - by 2023 - Morocco will be seeing dust - and then Algeria by 2025.

Then the list will be "Nigeria", Egypt, South Africa and Kenya.
good you've realized how stupid your maths was grin grin

Your country will only add 5 billion dollars to it GDP this year, moving it from 98 billion to 103 billion dollars....

Even by 2025, your GDP will not catch up with that of Morocco if they even stop growing.....

Kenya GDP over the last 10yrs has grown 9 times. South Africa 3 times. The last 10yrs is even more dramatic. South Africa has basically been struck. Kenya GDP has almost trippled.

Kenya growth is not mineral driven (therefore not subject to cyclic commodity bust-booms), is broad based and therefore sustainable.
grin grin

Unless Kenya GDP was growing at 100% per year for 10 years, it is impossible to grow Kenya GDP 9 times ...

Special Lunatic

It is also impossible to triple Kenya GDP especially when it was growing at less than 7% for 10 years ....

Nearly every country that has minerals like Ghana has got out poverty except in parts of Africa. Even countries with 1 million people do it even faster. Minerals give you the capital - for free - required to lift people out of poverty - by investing in people, infrastructure and their business.

Ghana GDP by end of this year will be 75b divided by 31M people (recent census). Kenya will be 109B against 50B - so it about 2400 versus 2200.
since minerals give you free capital, why hasn't Kenya use that free capital to raise people out of poverty ?
Ghana GDP by the end of this year will be 80 billion dollars.

You can consult the World Bank for your country actual GDP per Capita.... It is at 1800 dollars

That you still have povery of 19 % with gold for all those centuries in a sacrielege. When it come to gdp per capita - kenya and ghan are now pretty close - the same with HDI.
Mineral is not what raise people out of poverty, Market does.

When you do the, the you'll realize why Africa has such level of poverty ...

How will Ghana reduce it remaining poverty when it has countries like Kenya around it, a country that does not even know how to reduce it poverty?

I didn't know 2400 dollars and 1900 dollars were the same per Capita..

Despite Ghana being almost arable - and with so many minerals - you have almost as serious poverty as kenya - which is barren semi-arid and arid - and with no minerals.
grin grin which previous Kenya ? grin grin

Ghana poverty is at 19%, I don't remember Kenya ever reducing poverty to this low.

Despite all of Kenya mineral resources and arable lands, it still can't raise people out of poverty because your govt is too lazy to invest in irrigation and the lands that could be used for profitable stuff have been sold to foreigners who are only interested in growing less profitable stuff like tea.

Mkenya2019:
No country develop by growing informal sector - informal sector grows almost by default as poor people need to eke a living either way.

The way to growth is support informal sector to become micro-enterpises (SME) then to grow to medium enterprises then eventually to companies and hopefully to have them expand regionally or export - become multinationals.

Unless Ghana has a plan to convert informal trader to own a formal shop - that shop to become small supermarket - that supermarket to become small chain store - eventually national chain of stores - then expand regionally to say Togo or Nigeria - you're going nowhere.

Informal traders should be supported by providing them with credit, savings training and necessary support to grow.

The best way to do this is to organize them into cooperatives - like Kenya is doing. I can give you many examples of kenya cooperatives in many sectors - that have given small iinformal traders - the bargaining power or economies scales of big coorporation - have mobilized savings - provided credit - and have improved the fortunes of those traders - with some eventually become medium, large and even regional players.
Your govt came to learn supporting micro businesses from Ghana .....

We are king in that and that is why our people are doing better.

Anyway, when will Kenyans start opening businesses so that your govt will have something to support?

Hope they start the expansion works soon cos the traffic situation from the Tema stretch through Dorwenya is so bad
it is good that the state is focus of expanding all the Accra outskirt roads Because of how expansive all those outskirt communities have become..

Now it seems the most road projects are happening in Kumasi because it's satellite communities have also grown massively.

Not yet.

My next trip on that road will be in December..
As more and more people are building in Dawhenya and Prampram , that road traffic will only get worse until the road is completely expanded..

I said Tema to Dorwenya road. The traffic starts from the new Tema Interchange area through Dorwenya and ends at Prampram junction.
I use that road often so I know what I'm talking about.. The traffic situation there is terrible
The traffic starts outside of Tema...
Just after we're the road narrows...
That area has some of the worse traffic in Accra ..

Has the expansion begun ?

Last week traffic was mad, never seen the type before, left tudu at exact 5:42pm and by 8: 30pm I was just approaching coal station at achimota .whatever you do avoid going to Accra on Mondays and on fridays grin
Also avoid going into Accra on a Saturday After morning..

My brother left Nungua at 4pm in is own car and hot to Kasoa at 8pm on a Friday last week... Using Spintex

Anyway I must add, the Spintex 10 lanes road under construction is 50% complete.
And also, the 27Km Tema Nungua 10 lanes beach road is 20 to 30% complete.

Soon, the 26Km motorway expansion will start to remove the current motorway traffic..

Also, the expansion of your road that you currently use, all the way to Pokuasi will start next year..
It will start from where the current 10 or 14 lanes road converts into a 4 lanes Highway

The boldened, it surely will. Effective train system will reduce traffic in these cities.

Did I hear you say there's no traffic in Tema? You don't mean it.
Tema-Dorwenya traffic is always terrible.

Car ownership will increase every year so we need an effective public transport system which can transport many people as possible to their destinations.
Dorwenya is outside Tema

We already have public transport system and it's effective..

The problem is, no one wants to be inconvenienced.
Public transport inconvenience people and no one currently wants that....

You can go and listen to why people stopped parking their cars at the Achimota transport yard and joining Aayalolo buses.

They said it was inconveniencing them because it wasn't dropping them Infront of their offices.. Hence they had to walk a kilometer or 2

If only this current useless Government would invest into the transport sector in Accra, Tema, Kumasi the Traffic situation in these cities would be much better
we need
Serious BRT system
Skytrain/monorail/Underground trains wateva

The traffic situation in Accra, Tema and Kumasi cities is sometimes annoying undecided undecided
They are but it hasn't solved it...
Tema does not have traffic...The motorway has....

The problem is, every year, car ownership increase by a massive number as young people join the middle class... But the roads can't widen up..

The demographic of people owning cars current are not the ones who are willing to park their cars and join public transport...

Moving around with public transport is super expensive..
An in and out journey from Kasoa to Tema cost 30 cedis. Meanwhile if I move my car, a journey like that is convenient and will only cost me less than 70 for fuel...
My young sis spend 25 cedis a day in and out to UPSA... So I will most definitely use my car to drop her off when ever I'm around because it is cost effective and convenient..

BRT, monorail, Sky train and etc will not solve that unless they are willing to drop fares below...
They won't be able to drop fares because transport unions will protest and sue on unfair practice grounds.

Now tell me which you prefer ....
