vankelvin: But we don't seem to have this religious demarcations here OR?
Nkrumah fought against it ....
By requiring all political parties to have political presence in all district. Those who couldn't build political office in all district were ban from participating in any form of elections.
He also fought against all those interested in federalism because he realize they were only seeking that form of governance on tribal lines
vaxx: actually , it is part of the challenges. That is why the country is clamouring for restructuring. So that the old regional system can be practiced . If that be , the philosophy of Awolowo in south west can be implemented . The free education , emphasis on cash crop product etc which has been the benchmark of development in Yoruba region . Each region want to be self autonomous. The north may continue with their Islamic system.
vaxx: He wasn't Nigeria first man anyway , it was even the northerner who never want Nigeria to be independent. In the name of tafawa balewa and in terms of national contribution, anthony enahoro has done what Awolowo was just doing way back . He first moved the motion for Nigeria independence. And again Awolowo was more popular in south west governance than the national helm.
I even try by mentioning fela, fela is more popular than his mother thru his music as a political language.
Azikwe has no weight in comparable to Awolowo in south or balewa in the north. He is only popular in the east . Infact the latter biafra war leader ""ojukwu"" is more popular than him
simple, Nigeria does not have a central hero. Nigeria can only be proud of patriotic citizens not vilian.
I think Nigeria's current problem is the fact that, there is no unifying figure that everyone can rally around...
Roan77: Are you serious? Many sources are giving different population number, some are saying 2.2 million, and others 3.4 million, but I didn't see 5.4 million though.
P.S My bad,Abuja population as of 2021 is 3.4 million people, not 5-6 million I early stated.
Roan77: Are you actually crazy? How can a city of 5-6 million people be empty? Accra is a city of 4.5 million people, are you also going to call it empty?
SUFFERInSMILIIN: I have a question to ask you so when is Ghana going to actually teach in Nigeria how to get out of its economic problems. Ghana is the economic power house of west Africa. Does Ghana have any plans to help their west African neighbours like Nigeria
Nigeria's problems are too big for any country to want to interfere in without Nigerian politicians tackling the problems seriously...
rvp2018: China is largest gold trader - and yet they have no gold mine. All from Ghana and such Africa countries. Dubai alone receives 15B dollars of gold every year from Africa that is not reflected in official documents. China does even more.
China has almost 4000 rich gold mines.
China is the largest gold mining country in the world..
rvp2018: Kenyatta is retiring in less than one year. We are one Africa longest democracy. You have more military history than democracy.
When you send Shaolin gang back to China - I will start to give you a tweenie little respect.
You are one of Africa what?
When they talk about democracy in Africa, Kenya is only mentioned with war-torn countries.
Who needs respect froM a hungry man? Hungry men are usually at the mercy of men with enough, typically Ghanaians..
The Chinese have overrun your country and is making kenyans poorer and poorer by the day..
You dumb politicians keep awarding all the contracts in your country to them, since you guys dont have enough brain cells to create construction companies.
rvp2018: Your total tax returns I doubt even reach one million.
Kenya total tax returns 5.5m - total 6.1m
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has reported that more than 5.5 million taxpayers filed their tax returns by the midnight June 30 deadline, reflecting a 19 per cent growth from last year.
Some 4.4 million filed returns in 2020. Taxpayers file returns for the previous year, with the filing period running from January 1 to June 30.
The number of taxpayers using iTax has been growing over the past few years, rising from 3.6 million in 2019 to 4.4 million in 2020 and 2021's 5.5 million.
But KRA still reports that some 600,000 of the 6.1 million taxpayers registered on iTax failed to file, even as it added the number of last-minute filers was down this year.
Unfortunately there are less than 1 million registered business in Kenya
rvp2018: You have produced gold since 13th century - if you're hoping for miracle it wont happen. Countries that are somewhere in Africa - Mauritus, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, few island like Seycheles and of course Magreb.
1st miracle is to send Chinese gang away.
Yes we have in smaller quantities..
And all of that has already created a miracle in the life of Ghanaians...
Seems Kenya has been praying for some miracle but unfortunately it has the greedy kenyatta who has stolen all the lands including your oil lands ..
Go sack him first and add the Indians and Chinese who have been looting you country since prehistoric times.
rvp2018: There are two types of registration 1) Business license for informal business - you pay maybe 10-100 dollars a year to operate - you do not file tax returns. 2) Proper business or company - with all the whistles and bells- you need to file taxes, articles of associaiton, legal fees.
You dont come near kenya in either. The first is informal sector. The 2nd is private sector.
With all business registrations in Ghana, you have to file a tax return and get a rebate.
Unfortunately, Kenya does not have as many registered businesses as Ghana.
rvp2018: When China stop smuggling 8B - more than official 7B - worth of Gold - come and talk. If you managed Gold - you'd be like South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Clearly you're not. You cannot use population as an excuse.
If Ghana was producing that much gold, the land will be completely finished.
Unfortunately, Ghana only recently overtook SA in production.
vankelvin: His brain cells are so dead. Arguing with this dude is a whole exercise on its own. He will just quote any report regardless of the year it was published.
rvp2018: What are 5 million Nigerians doing in Ghana - if not informal retail, transport and such. These Ghanians have to be most lazy un-enterpising people to see such a big influx. Their very LOW IQ is self-manifested in this forum. All they do is engaged in echo chamber of liking each other dense post - like it counts for anything. Deadly mix - at least Somalis though un-educated are very enterprising. These onces are almost bonobos for real.
The average IQ of a Ghanaian is twice that of a Kenyan...
This is evident in the fact that Ghanaians own the strategic sectors of it economy while Kenyans cant rap their heads on how to start.
Ghanaians are ore enterprising than Kenyans and it is evident in the number of registered businesses in both countries.
rvp2018: Once again - for umpteenth time - respond with link - of some empirical data - not your written diarhohea.
The internet is a free tool
you can confirm them all.
Get back to reality and learn from Fitch Solution commending Ghana pharmaceutical Industrial park which has made Ghana a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub in Africa.
rvp2018: Countries that really manufacture drugs in Africa - are few - Ghana first learn to dispense drugs - before you can make drugs - and then syringes like Nigeria - Kenya was doing all that maybe 40yrs ago.
Although pharmaceutical products are currently manufactured in countries such as South Africa, Kenya, Morocco and Egypt, as a whole Africa currently imports more than 80 per cent of its pharmaceutical and medical consumables. It is unsustainable.
Another study
In 2005, a World Bank study revealed that South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Zimbabwe had demonstrated the industrial capacity for producing medicine for export or domestic consumption in the face of the diminishing supply of generic medicine from the major producers.
In 2021 and you are still referring to something from 2005
You are really desperate
Its a know fact that your country does not produce much pharmaceuticals..
IN Ghana, each manufacturer you will pick is doing more than 600 different products.. Kenya needs to learn both the manufacturing end and the dispensary end of the pharmaceutical industry..
rvp2018: We import petrol and related oil product - until we get Turkana Oil to production - we will continue. We import medicine - we have very good medicine manufacturing for generics - outside South Africa and Egypt. We import lots of palm/cooking oil - this is a problem and we need to grow sunflower to replace palm oil - but we re-export a lot of this regionally We import lots of cars - this will continue for quite a while We imports lots of machinery and capital goods - this will continue.
We do not import a lot of finished manufactured goods - we actually export lots of such goods regional - and outside - leading AGOA in apparel.
If you go to any supermarket in kenya - nearly everything on the shelf is made in kenya.
