EXACTLY they are both not comparable because one is a hostel facility on campus and yours is a development outside of any school that anyone can rent into....
When it comes to uni infrastructure, you can at best compare yourself to the likes of Somalia an co..
so far, we've not seen any huge kenyan company that can make over 3 billion dollars investment in anything .... Else kenya economy wont be in the huge mess between it export and import values..
GNPC is valued over 10 billion dollars, VRA has an almost 8 billion dollars valuation, SpringField is now valued at over 12 billion dollars with revenue exceeding 2 billion dollars
rvp20182: So if we remove South African (MTN + AshantiGold) - basically next biggest company in Ghana is valued at how much?
Kenya is big regional player - leave alone investment within kenya.
Some kenya companies are huge - and can only compete with South Africa in SSA. Nigeria - you remove Dangote, Globacom and their banks - they are nowhere in Africa.
Kenya companies in almost every sector are some biggest investors in regional countries - of east, part of central and southern africa.
Only South Africa compete - and the South Africans are retreating back home - so soon Kenya will be the boss in Africa.
rvp20182: You should try to compete with Uganda. If Nigeria cannot compete even with Kenya - how can your little zoo ever compete? Tanzania is too much for you little country - and Uganda I suspect is also on another level
Shma2020: I've posted 23fls, 18fls, 10fls, 7fls and other low rise(4fls) of our third biggest university - braches . With the hobbit characteristics that you have, You can only make noise to counter them.
Where are the student hostels, sports and entertainment facilities, Libraries, labs, and etc?
Just one hostel facility from any of our university campuses can beat that nonsense you posted. It will be irresponsible of me to even pick up a university from here to compare to your glorified secondary schools...
rvp20182: There is no Ghanian company even worth 6B dollars...unless we include Ashanti Gold. Safaricom just invested 1B dollars in Ethiopia...in license fee alone...that is Ethiopia single largest FDI in history...and now real investment in building the network, staff and such is just started.
Safaricom was awarded a license to operate in Ethiopia for USD 850 million spectrum fees and it disclosed that it will have a total of USD 8.5 billion investment in the coming ten years.
That is just one company - in every sector - there hundrends of kenya companies - investing money in East and Central Africa - since 1990s.
Only South Africa are better than Kenya.
we don't need to have companies with 10 billion valuations before they can make huge investment in the ever massive Ghanaian economy with lot of opportunities...
Anyway, MTN Ghana is valued at over 4 billion dollars
Kenyan companies are tiny and debt ridden, their 15 dollars investments are nothing to write home about....
Another Ghanaian company is making a 3 billion dollars investment into Ghana iron ore development with a huge industry plan in northern Ghana.
Another Ghanaian company is making 2 billion dollars investment in the Lithium batteries industry.. with manufacturing plants plan for Central Ghana.
Our companies don't need to go anywhere to look for opportunities because the opportunities in Ghana are massive...
We are talking Trillions of dollars worth of opportunities..
rvp20182: I was checking international schools around kilifi-malindi - coz I am interested in purchasing property there. Otherwise your underwhelming universities like everything Ghana cannot make anyone - not even Tanzania - envious.
unfortunately, my universities are in the enviable list of universities with beautiful campus with top infrastructures ...
It makes Kenyans enviable such that, they troop in in their numbers
Kenya invested in 36 projects last year in other parts of the continent against South Africa’s 33, a new study by financial consulting firm Ernst & Young shows.
I am yet to see a Kenyan company that can make 6 billion dollars investment anywhere...
We are talking proper investment and not your 15 million dollars to 30 million dollars kind of nonsense....
rvp20182: I was about to say the same - these are Yahoos!
Because there is no Kenyan company that can make that level of investment, you think other countries companies are that poor....
Those yahoos can only happen in Kenya...
Ghana has empowered it own companies to own strategic sectors of it economy....
In the oil and gas sector... GNPC Explorco is making a 1.5 billion dollars investment to own 70% stake in upstream development.. Ghanaian company Springfield own 55% stake in another block and has made 2 billion dollars plus investment while ENI owns the rest..
In the Pharmaceuticals.. Ghanaian companies have completely taken over as government 20 billion dollars for industries expansion is working magic
Ghanaian company to invest 6 billion dollars into 4 new bauxite mines and 4 huge refineries to refine over 20 million metric tonnes of bauxite into Alumina and processing into Aluminum ....
Shma2020: Jokes aside, So you actually think your city(prime areas) can stand Nairobi(prime) in land price?
Forget about the stats, your city alone is empty- no demand for land or is it because Ghanaians are poor to buy land? The few built up areas like airport CBD(the only CBD Accra has) will struggle to beat south C in Nairobi.
Give South C 3 yrs to beat Accra.
How would there be no demand for land in my city when all the lands in my city are finished?
rvp20182: Again without a link you're wasting your time. Nobody believe anything you say.
Something close to this.. The most expensive - The Ridge -Average asking prices for this area was GHS 4.4m per plot (equivalent of $750,000 per plot or $3.8m an acre). This compares to Cantonments at $480,000, East Legon at $135,000 and Oyarifa at $14,000 per plot respectively.
rvp20182: You did not get it. Muthaiga and such are expensive - not because the houses are huge - but by the fact that it's Muthaiga - the address. You definitely cannot fly a drone over it.
Muthaiga - along the two public vehicles roads - you can get glimpse.
rvp20182: This one is cheap - it's as old as Ghana university - just 3,000usd - this average price in Nairobi upper class - cover about half of Nairobi land
popizaino: 15 million dollars for land in Accra, pls where exactly? it is not everything you will pull assumptions or number from thin air r to make it appear bigger and better than Kenya. You're not going to die if you agree that they are better than you in some aspect while you are better than them in other aspects. Know this and know peace.
rvp20182: Quote one link showing land anywhere in Accra is even 500K usd
There is reason why kenyans build vertical...why skyscrappers and tall buildings are built - coz land is so damn expensive - you can only buy at that price to building a 1000 units on an acre.
Land is damn expensive.
Who in your broke communist country ruled by traditional Kings afford even 1million dollars for land
Shitty Accra is not even worth - 50kms from Nairobi - Land in Nairobi metro lowest is 1M dollars!!
The average price of commercial land for sale in Accra is GH₵175,000 per acre. The most expensive commercial land costs GH₵250,000 per acre while the cheapest costs GH₵100,000 per acre
Tantrums from a brain dead kid
Accra does not compete with messy undeveloped places like Kenya with no electricity...
Lands in Accra Ridge, Airport city, Accra CBD, OSU and co sells for 15 million dollars .... That is not Kenyan territory
