Ghana spent 15 billion dollars in 3 years to solve it energy crisis and has gone ahead to build SGRs of 3 billion that is 40% complete
That is how much money we spend in a short time frame
Mombasa port is smaller and is playing catch up to Tema the behemoth
Mombasa is the sovereignty property of China now and likewise SGR KENYA
no one is envious of that
rvp20182: You're very envious of SGR - because Ghana cannot afford it - and Mombasa port - does about twice more cargo handling than all your ports combined - despite all the mining activities. Tema probably handles about 0.9m while Mombasa is inching towards 1.5M TEUS.
SGR revenues last year grew 3 times. SGR began operation in 2018. SGR cargo also grew to nearly 5M tonnes...and considering Mombasa is handling 35M tonnes...they have huge room for growth. We envision SGR carrying about 20M - so we still huge room for growth - and revenues will grow to match KPA's 0.5B dollars annually....so combined 1B dollar revenues...will make the little Chinese loan (5B dollars) look like child play.
BTW - I showed you something more authentic and believeable than pics which is videos. - you on the other handing is only crying helplessly because I exposed your laggard slummish city - Deal with that
rvp20182: Dream on. Mombasa has for now forever overtake combined two Lagos port - Apapa and Tin can - and is at 35M tonnes per year and 1.4M containers - aiming for Durban - who does 72M tonnes - and 2.7M containers annually. SGR has made Mombasas very efficient - is starting to compete with Durban and likes of Singapore on efficiency...a ships docks and within a few hours..has it's cargo evacuated to Nairobi..some 500kms!!
Mombasa port last year crossed revenues about 0.5B dollars.
Meanwhile a container in Lagos port - takes a whole month to navigate out of the port. The ship similarly takes a month to empty the container. The congestions and efficiency is, without doubt, the world worst.
gallivant: You mean to tell me Joseph Biney and Joseph Ellis are Ghanaian names? Well, this explains Goodluck Jonathan and Jerry Rawlings. True house niggs.
samorobo: Mombasa and modern shouldn't be used in the same sentence...
Watch this video to the end..even this white man attested to it in this video...btw I will be bringing more ugly mombassa from some countries f miss Trudy videos
rvp20182: The railway that in 2nd-year operation has grown it's revenues to 110M dollars is not dead - and has since it's cargo rise from zero to 5M tonnes.
Revenue last year rose 3 times - cargo by nearly 50%.
Mombasa port well on it's way to 35M - 1.4M tonnes - bigger than two Lagos ports of Apapa and Tin Can.
Don't even compare it with Ghana.
prove that is has grown it revenue to 110M
lies upon lies
It made a 98 million loss in 2019.
of course Mombasa port cant compare itself to Tema port especially when the little Takoradi port is doing 20 million metric tons
i was holding the document not wanting to expose their foolishness
Kenya is right there with Zambia in foolishness
samorobo: Hahahaha Mombasa port is gone.. obviously there is nothing left to brag about that disorganised arabian slum...the glory of Mombasa just escaped
edon21: Kenyans on this thread don't reason properly most times. Reason why I don't always engage their contributions. They ll see the truth, yet they'll be too sentimental to admit it. When you say, most Kenyans are poor for instance. They'll say "hell no" whereas maybe one of them present on this thread is living right in the heart of kibera. For South Africans , gosh their case is too complicated.
jl115: You said AngloGold and Goldfields are Ghanaian companies.
Goldfields Limited is not Ashanti Goldfields corporation...............This is where the confusion came in!!
As for AngloGold ashanti well imo it still a SAn company as the headquarters and Directors are all South African and Ghanaian shareholders only owns 2% of AngloGold Ashanti...................
ofcourse Goldfields is not the same as Ashanti Goldfields
jl115: I literally said they operate in Ghana, also I never disputed that the Ghanaian government can own a portion of the company.
I simply stated that paying tax doesn't mean its a Ghanaian company:
FYI:
"The AngloGold journey began in South Africa in May of 1998, when the gold and uranium mining interests of Anglo American Corporation of South Africa were consolidated. In August 1998, AngloGold became the first South African company to list on the NYSE."
