rvp20182: You're impervious. Anyway done for the day. Enjoy - it - you know don't need to desperately like and share each other post. Perhaps get a private room with Vaxxx and be done with it.
go rethink your economic model in Kenya
and lift your people out of extreme poverty.
a colonial structured economy will keep Kenyans poor
rvp20182: Stable currency - doesn't matter if it manipulated is important - for the economy. You cannot plan - anything - when CEDIS is on a free fall. If you're a manufacturer - and you plan is to expand or buy a spares - and when you're about done with savings - you discover you need twice the cedis - and you're done.
so how is China planning ?
you are basically dumb
This is how manufacturers are expanding in Ghana.
They are using their own capital based on their export revenues. returning huge dollar reserves into the Ghanaian economy.
rvp20182: Cheat yourself - manufacturing - means importing capital goods - machinery from china or India - and you pay in dollars - and when CEDIS is on diarrhea - the local manufacturers cannot expand - heck they cannot even import spares - because they earn CEDIS - and when they convert to dollars - it nothing.
South Asia or China grew by KEEPING A STABLE Currency.
they grew by manipulating their currencies to make production more attractive in their economy than anywhere else.
Ghana local manufacturers are expanding their manufacturing capacity as we speak.
Every single company in Ghana has undertaken an expansion project over the last 5 years.
5 billion dollars that you dont have and need to go and borrow yearly
We train enough doctors and nurses such that our system cant contain them all
Such that the entire Europe and Us is filled with Ghanaian Nurses and Doctors That is the power of our educational system, developing a hogging educated workforce for Ghana and all who can pay for their services granting Ghana huge returns just like Sweden.
rvp20182: Highly trained skills workforce takes a lot time and investment - and therefore to ship them abroad is the most stupid thing I know of. We are spending 5B dollars annually on our education. I don't want to quantity private investment into education. It probably goes as high as another 20B dollar.
To train a doctor or a nurse - you're talking 20ys - in basic education and another 5yrs - to acquire those skills. Then you ship them abroad?
Now when companies relocate to Ghana - and their start thinking about hospital services - they find all doctors left.
Don't ever celebrate export of highly skilled labour.
Export dregs like you and vaxx - to go wash old people and clean up roads - but not doctors, nurses, engineers, etc.
rvp20182: Exactly - and the CEDIS is on free fall - and then check last year. Our GDP to debt is growing by small % annually. Not going crazy like Ghana. You're beyond help.
a good advantage for the Ghanaian economy
Making local manufacturing more attractive to the young entrepreneurs of Ghana Hence why we have successfully lowered our import and increased exports.
rvp20182: I also checked maize and wheat - we are probably one SSA biggest wheat and barley producers - and we have small deficit in maize - that we leave idiots like Tanzania to do - as we do HIGH-VALUE crops.
There are things not worthy of producing - because they are so cheap internationally - maize, sugar, etc
When we sell horticulture - we can buy all your yams.
shut up
you dont produce enough wheat to feed your own economy and not even barley
rvp20182: We don't export our highly trained workforce. We keep them. They attract companies who invest and bring dollars - bridging our trade deficit. That is how YOU DO IT.
A backwater - think exporting labor is being brilliant and getting a measly 8B dollar back - while the economies those Ghanaians are working in - are getting LOT more - maybe 10 times more.
Now when companies land in Accra - all they find is dregs like you that are unemployable - the brain drain has left your country a sorry state of itself.
The likes of Vaxx cannot even construct an email message.
because your work force is not highly trained
The workforce of well-advanced economies services the globally economy
Companies land in Accra to a well trained workforce available to work
The skills that are highly lacking in Kenya is easily found in Ghana
rvp20182: Nobody wants to pay double their external debts - and ask for bailout. Cheat fellow Ghanians. As we speak your debt to GDP is probably 70%...and yet you rebased and rebased that GDP (Cheated and cheated). Last year you had come down to 40% - and by end of this year - it will be 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as we speak Ghana's debt to GDP is 63% and Kenya's official DEBT TO GDP IS 63.2%
Because of Kenya's over reliance on debt for budgetary support, Kenya debt ceiling has been increased to allow for an equal debt to GDP ratios.
At your current borrowing pattern, Kenya will be doing 100% debt ratio by 2021.
This year, Kenya will borrow 6 billion dollars to service it budget.
rvp20182: We are beyond begging for Aid. My friend we have the only UN HQ (two) in the entire SOUTH POLE. Nairobi is the HQ of many multinationals with Africa operations. We are taking over from Joburg.
you are the HQ of aid agencies They bring you food aid that they buy from Tanzania.
rvp20182: The man of one index. Be afraid of the dangers of a single story. There are many indices out there.
As we speak Kenya's economy is maybe 94B (accounting for KSH-dollar depreciation ) while South Africa has sunk to 270B - and Angola - ohoo boy - they are back to where always belonged - 70B dollars - they are nothing but Oil dependant country.
Kenya overtook Angola last year...now we are nibbling at Morroco.
rvp20182: You're exporting what GOLD - and minerals - and still get 8B dollars from diaspora - and yet CEDIS knows no peace. Kenya is a modern economy. Modern economies don't need to export a lot of crap. They build a domestic economy good enough to sustain it. While the backwater is busy exporting the workforce - and remaining with dregs.
the Cedi has no problem
we depreciate it as and when we want and it makes our economy less exposed to external shocks
rvp20182: WB on their own volition donated 10M dollars - in a country with a budget of 30B dollars. What is that - not enough to buy even COVID testing kit. Kenya is now a rich country.
so you spent it on Candies forgetting it is monies that will be paid back
That money could have been used to buy testing kits that you so badly need, since you run out
rvp20182: 2003 - our GDP was 12B dollars - and now as we speak 15yrs later - we are just about 100B dollars today. That is enough vindication that we are on the right track. We have also stopped breading like rats. Our success in family planning and population control is unmatched in Africa. We have turned the corner - and for good.
Right now as you speak we 3rd largest economy in Sub Sahara Africa after Nigeria and South Africa.
rvp20182: Sorry, Jerry Rawling, the half-caste saved your country. Nkrumah had made you bankrupt and his legacy of bankruptcy lives on - inflation, currency depreciation, interest rates, Ghanaians are still running abroad.
Ghana today is at the receiving end of it highly educated work force and receiving a large globally educated workforce that are taking advantage of the entrepreneur work space advantages here and changing the face of the Ghanaian economy.
rvp20182: I thought I explained. 60s and 70s we are growing. We got a small problem in mid-70s thanks to Oil crisis but the 1980s oil crisis took us down - and more than that - our demography - made all the growth nonsense - we were still breeding in 1980s - population reached about 30m in 1980s - most households had on average 8-10 kids.
All that was "good" - still growing at 4% with population growth at 4% - until 1993 - hell broke loose - the American and Europeans together with IMF/WB canceled their Aid (our budge then was 50% or more from donors) after election violence and human rights violation by Moi - there was also a run on the central bank by Moi and cronies -
And so first time ever we felt like Ghanians (how do you people manage this). Inflation in 1993 basically shoots through the roof. Kshs dropped from 20 to a dollar to 50 then finally 60. Interest rates go to 30%. Name it. . Can you imagine KShs is still at around 100shs to a dollar now...while you CEDIS has gone haywire it's been demonetized and is now also going haywire?
Moi run to IMF on all our fours - and they release the funds - the economy got better - Moi got back to his old bad ways - the donors suspended AID - MOi run back to IMF and donors - they release the funds - economy got better - Moi got back is old bad ways. Eventually in 1997 a defeated and sly Moi told IMF to pick their men as top government officials to oversee gov retrenchment of civil services.
Anyway eventually by late 90s - even Moi himself was tired with stop - and - go stalemate with IMF, WB and donors - and he started weaning kenya of donor funding - we started reforming banks - reforming central banks - started issuing domestic debt instruments (tbill, name it).
But economy was still sick - zero FDI - kenyans escaping abroad like Ghanians and Nigerian still do -
And in 2003 - we ushered a new regime - we go back into good books of donors (who by then we didn't need) and investors - and more importantly kenyans started to invest again - started to have trust again on the system.
so in 2003 you decided to restructure your economy to become debt-dependent rather than productive
rvp20182: Kwame Nkurumah dragged you to communism. You became broke by the early 1960s - and eventually, you overthrew Kwame while on his visit to China and Russia - and swiftly invited IMF - and started painful reforms. Unfortunately, you're going into 17 bailouts. A record.
Kenya is not at your level - stop dragging her - into your funny business. We are not in any IMF bailout. We have some most stable macro-economics. I know you think trade deficit is a problem - it isn't. Our currency is stable.
Kwame Nkrumah was not a Communist
So how did Kenya end up the country most indebted to IMF and WB in it various structure adjustment projects and poverty alleviation projects that ended up making most kenyans poor, starving and unemployed?
rvp20182: - Maybe by Lenin and Mao of China - who was also presiding transformation of agriculture in China - that saw many Chinese die from famine - as equally as Ghana did from famine. Communists were crazy folks.
How can a founding member of the none align movement countries be communist ?
dumb dumb
Even up to today, Kenya hasn't learnt a thing to change the colonial structures left behind Your politicians went on to continue what the Europeans left behind.
THE police is there to serve the citizens and not beat them and murder them on the street for nothing like the Europeans used to do. Change KPF to KPS to help change the mind set.
Take back all the ill gotten lands that your politicians are holding in the two monarchy families in trust for the Europeans as a pay to play rub my palm system so that your citizens can participate in an economic model that serves them.
rvp20182: Don't blame drought of 1980s- you became bankrupt in the 1960s - and don't blame Africa's independence - you became broke so broke - because you choose COMMUNISM. You were swiftly taken to the IMF school of hard economics and I don't see you graduating soon. You still don't have a handle on key macro-economics - inflation, currency stability, interest rates, debt, etc etc.
you are really dumb Ghana was a NONE aligned nation so how did we choose Communism?
Do you even know what communism is ?
The fact is, after 30 years turbulence in Ghana, Ghana came out with a more self-reliant economy that successfully reduced it dependent on the world by reducing it import and allowing it economy to grow from Agric to manufacturing.
Now those manufacturing companies have expanded greatly and leading Ghana into the global market (a growing trade surplus).
Kenya in the same period turn into a country that gets bankrupt every year and runs to the IMF and WB for budgetary support to finance recurrent expenditure that has led to most Kenyans being unemployed and extremely poor.
rvp20182: Not everybody was growing - Ghana after British left - were declared bankrupt in 1964 - and haven't really recovered.
The economic growth record of Ghana has been one of unevenness, as Figure 1 clearly indicates. With a reasonably high GDP growth in the 1950s and early 1960s, the Ghanaian economybegan to experience a slowdown in economic growth in 1964. Growth was turbulent during much of the period after the mid-1960s and only began to stabilize by 1984. In1966, 1972, 1975-1976, 1979, 1981-1983, the growth rate was actually negative
even in 1964 Ghana was still growing
Ghana had the most successful transformation of it Agriculture sector in the 1960s leading to the 70s
rvp20182: Good questions. And we have answered here. Btw 1963 to oil crisis of 1980s - kenya economy was growing - from around 5% to high of 10% - we were doing very well..as good as most of the Asian tigers...but equally, we were breeding like rats.
So in the 1980s we basically sunk - the population has grown from 6m to I think 20M...the world fastest population growth...the oil crisis just made things worse...and we everything went south for 20yrs.
Every economy in the world was growing including North Korea.
You cant say you were doing very well when your infrastructure looks like shit. And your breeding is not the problem to your underdevelopment compare to them.
The simple answer is, your economy was design to serve the Europeans and since independence, you have not changed it.
Your economy was not developed and integrated into the global market and hence cant blame oil crisis because it didn't even affect you.
In Asia, they change their economic model to one that serve themselves first before any other.
Hence most Asian countries were producing what they eat and need so they don't become the dumping ground for others. The opposite is the case for kenya
Kenya produces what it doesn't eat and import what it eat You cant grow by being the dumping ground for others hence running a huge trade deficit
South Korea did not practise Capitalism until recently It was a closed economy runner on the basis of a kleptocracy supported by the government.
rvp20182: You cannot have an IMF bailout every other year and talk about macro-economics.
Get an handle of your interest rate, inflation, and currency - before you dream of developing.
we have a handle of all of that and allow our currency to be flexible to our own advantage.
Your country so badly want to keep it peg to the dollar sending you into massive debts. to IMF and WB That is not the way to development, hence why you are undeveloped
You cant develop with a hungry population that go into starvation every 6 month and have to rely on WFP for food aid
