Tetehjewels: You are wrong. An average Nigerian in Ghana wants a measure of comfort. The kind we are used to back home in Nigeria and in order to get this comfort we pay heavily for it because an average Ghanaian can afford to live in a room or a chamber and hall as they call it while using a public toilet as convenience. They do not even bother to include a kitchen in most homes and prefer either cooking outside or making it in a way that the person renting creates their own kitchen in a place called a porch which is meant to be the balcony region at the entry of the apartment.
Life is not easy for Ghanaians here but a bit easier for Nigerians because whenever we go to ghana, we go prepared thus enjoy relative more comfort than they do. Nigerians living like sardines in one bedroom houses 20 people in two-bedroom houses |

stagger: Nigeria has not had a fuel shortage in three years. And we pay the equivalent of 2.17 GHS per litre, not like the crazy 5.35 or 5.4GHS per litre that is forcing everyone to use all those tiny 1.0 l capacity engine cars. Be enlightened. story of my life just this year alone, you've had 2 or 3 shortages we pay 5.3 because we can afford it that is the international price without subsidizes youre too poor and wont be able to pay the same amount we pay for fuel. it will cause a revolution in nigeria that is why your government cant even increase the price of fuel in your country evn though they know that the subsidizes are making Nigeria bankrupt and causing fuel smuggling. |

stagger: Another fool talking.
The Ghanaian economy is a highly dollarized one. Why? the currency has become more worthless in the last three years.
100 GHS cannot even buy 20 litres of fuel. Fuel in Ghana is pegged to the US dollar. How much are hotel rooms in Ghana? You cannot get a hotel in Osu area for anything less than $100 (540 GHS) a night. This is for a cheap hotel. The high end ones are far more expensive. In the hotel, they will even tell you to pay in US dollars if you have.
Infrastructure: apart from better electricity and a better educational system, where are the infrastructure? Is it the roads? The roads are narrow and many have craters, not potholes.
Tax: Ghana pays VAT of 13.5% to 17.5%. A bottle of Malta Guiness is on the average, 3.5 GHS. N245 on the average; what we buy N150 here. Very expensive. One egg costs 80 pesewas for a small one and 1 GHS for a big one. That is between N56 to N70 for one, as opposed to N30 for a raw one.
Things are bloody expensive in Ghana and even cost of foodstuff is high. Enter the streets of Ghana and ask the average Ghanaian if their living costs are low. They are all complaining and their standard of living is definitely not higher than in Nigeria.
People like this fellow can talk lies thinking they can deceive everyone. I go to Ghana and stay sometimes a month there and I know what's up. all that you just mentioned only says one thing Ghana is an expensive place to live. we Ghanaians are not complaining because we earn enough to be able to afford this kind of living standards of living is proportionately higher than in Nigeria I can easily get electricity to my house i can easily connect water to my house i can easily pay my water and electricity bill i can easily access health care without going far every community has a school which is easily accessible. transport services are readily available 80 -90 percent of Ghanaians live above the poverty line that is prety high standard do you know the price of Guinness in the UK? it is 4.25 pounds do you know the price of Guinness in Sweden? 5 pounds Any economy with high wages price goods accordingly My government have removed all subsidizes on fuel Now no one smuggles fuel again. and every Ghanaian can afford it without complaining because we know what the money will be used for |

Of what gain is to study there and lay you off like trash after spending huge amount of pounds.
Population of Nigerian students in Ghana is high and if they decide to withdraw, it will affect your revenue to an extent. it wont because it will create space for other countries citizens to gain a sound Ghanaian education |

Usenak: Why bother about these small neighboring countries due to geographical reasons. The United States has Haiti, Cuba, etc boardering it yet picks Europe , Asia as real business partners. We should only deal with Kenya, South Africa and select countries . Time for big brother sentiments is over. Shut the boarder for 48 months , and our exotic taste will correct itself . But we should have a consistent policy direction. when everyone shut their border no one will have a problem |

Tetehjewels: Check what records? Where are the records to check and the plans to improve the sanitation facilities? "A whole Ghana" still has Unicef coming to build toilets for her is that the program?
Your President just released funds to some communities here to build more pit latrines and you talk of sanitation?
Guy wake up and stop lying to yourself because that is the worst kind of lie to tell With improved water sources available to 80 percent of the population, Ghana has made progress in safe water access at a national level. In 2014, 14,700 people gained access to improved water supply and 9,270 people gained access to improved sanitation facilities. Additionally, 25 communities, including a number of schools, were declared “open-defecation-free,” an accreditation that demonstrates improved knowledge, attitude, and practices of the communities and individuals related to hygiene and hand-washing. However, maintenance and management remains a challenge, and access to improved sanitation (15 percent for urban residents, 6 percent for rural residents) is lower than in other African countries. Rapid urbanization is further stressing urban access to sanitation and clean water. USAID intervenes to increase access to clean drinking water and to sanitation facilities. Programs like the Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for Health Activity also encourage individuals and communities to adopt positive water, sanitation, and hygiene practices while strengthening the community’s ability to plan, manage, and sustain activities. USAID will continue to partner with Rotary International(link is external) and Coca-Cola(link is external) to extend the reach of WASH programs. https://www.usaid.gov/ghana/waterhttps://iwaponline.com/washdev/article/9/3/397/67971/Ghana-s-post-MDGs-sanitation-situation-an-overviewdo you want to check the horrors in your country |

McPolomy: Don't mind him, na the majority of Ghanaians I dey pity, by the time Nigeria Government cut our ties with the government of Ghana and your economy start crumbling, when Ghanaians starts migrating legally or illegally back to Nigeria for survivals (like your ancestors did), don't expect sympathy from Nigerians because 2 names will be on my lips as the architect of Ghanaians' misfortune... #Just30 and #psychologygh. Don't say I did not warn you....
NB: before you quote me take your time to do some economics research and fact findings about Nigeria and Ghana economics relationship, you'll discover that it is much of "parasitic than symbiotic"... Nigeria can survive as an independent nation.. Ghana will have a long way to go before getting their grips if we cut ties. Starting from power sector to education, oil and gas and even bureaucracy in government. Nigeria grows your economy hook, line and sinker". Thank me later dont say we did not warn you your economy is heading back into recession and bankruptcy is shortly ahead of you. Your economy is highly dependent on Ghana for purchases there is an oversupply in all your highest export commodities if Ghana stop importing crude and gas from your country, your economy will head into recession |
