rvp2018: The 770m jetty, fully funded by the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) is the largest of its kind in Africa, with capacity to load and offload very large vessels of up to 200,000 DWT carrying all categories of petroleum products including crude oil, white oils and LPG.
According to the International Monetary Fund, the four top African countries posted GDPs of more than $500 billion (INT) in 2020:
Top 10 Richest African Countries by Overall GDP (INT$ at PPP — International Monetary Fund 2021) Egypt - $1.38 trillion Nigeria - $1.14 trillion South Africa - $861.93 billion Algeria - $532.57 billion Morocco - $302.77 billion Ethiopia - $298.57 billion Kenya - $269.29 billion Angola - $217.97 billion Ghana - $193.63 billion Sudan - $189.87 billion In terms of total GDP (PPP INT$),
Your PPP is insignificant. Our per capita is bigger than yours, if you use 46m with our current GDP - $109b. Employment rate means nothing - I can be self-employed but earning more than the employed.
Ghana PPP is almost 300 billion dollars in 2022 and was almost 230 in 2020...
Ghana PPP per Capita is 8800 dollars while that of your country is around 4,500 dollars
Ghana GDP per Capita is 2500 dollars and that of your country is 2000 dollars ...
gallivant: Your country has as much retail space as that of Blantayre Malawi. Your retail capacity reflects on your retail space, not bush markets and tantrums.
Even Tz retail sales is larger than that of your country ...
And guess what, you guys have almost the same population size
One of Africa's largest Ship Yards and some of the most preferred on the continent, after Shipyards in South Africa, Egypt and probably Morocco and maybe Nigeria..
PSC Tema shipyard .... Been in operation since 1965 and handle 578 vessels in 2019.
Shma: We're in 2022, Let's see the e-commerce data. You can dominate in retail sector but you won't have a say in retail space, which matters most in 2022.
Retail sector does not equate to economy
ask any retail company what matters most to them and they will tell you that their sales matters the most.
Now you are claiming retail does not equate to economy because your retail sales is tiny ?
Just look for what gross domestic product is and you'll see why retail sector is one of the most important.
Shma: Ghana is tiny underdeveloped sh*ty country with nearly half our economy. Our retail sector is the biggest in sub-Saharan Africa after South Africa and Nigeria( population-driven)
You have bigger PPP than Kenya? .. It's high time I remind you we're in 2022. Your purchasing power is nowhere near the big 5. Maybe Ethiopia can have a say.
Your retail sector is only competing with Ivory Coast our neighbor at around 10 billion dollars in sales .... That is how small your economy is... Yes we have a bigger PPP, bigger GDP per Capita, a higher HDI, a bigger disposable income, a tiny unemployment rate.....
How can your tiny economy not have all of that and you want to compare with us?
Shma: Those were never my sentiments, hobbit. The person who boldly claimed that your country is not real is a Nigerian, I was just emphasizing his point - because I saw how you humbled while responding to him.
I can't take any disrespect.
you seem to have a comprehension problem .... Go and read again, brainless Kenyan ...
We were talking about tourist just being tourist and your incessant need to compare with Ghana compared your country to Ghana in investment .. and now that I've placed the investment facts to you...
You've quilled your tail in between your legs to finally think about your irrelevant country..
Ghana is one of those sh*tholes that believes in stomach. You'll never see any serious investment in that country. Tourists visit ghana to see those rare species of humans but go to relevant - real countries to do investments.
yet Ghana received more investment in a year than your country will ever receive in a decade .....
Is it because your country is not a real country?
Ghana govt yearly infrastructure investment is twice of yours .... Make your statement make sense
rvp2018: Great. That explain it. Now is the Nigeria 5K plus pipeline fuctional? And why do you have fuel shortages, and such fuel adulteration it shocking.
Why did the UK have fuel shortages last year
Why did the US experience fuel shortages last year .... They all have in the hundreds of thousands of kilometers of pipelines...
GeneralDae: That one just speaks from his ass. He sees a new thing in Kenya and assumes they are the first in Africa or the only ones besides maybe South Africa
rvp2018: Kenya has almost 1,800 kilometres of refined products oil pipeline. Nigeria, Ghana and TZ (?) zero. Although we still have a long way to get to South Africa level - I think by 2015 we had about 1,600 petrol stations - about size of Gauteng - but we definitely the regional kings - supplying fuel as far south as Zambia - and far north as South Sudan.
From Kipevu oil terminal, risers each dedicated to a separate oil product and six onshore pipelines each dedicated to a separate oil product connecting the terminal to the Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited (KPRL) and Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) storage tanks.
you really like to compete with Ghana .
For your information.... Ghana has almost 6,000 kilometers of product pipeline and over 230,000 metric tonnes of product tank farm storage capacity on the Volta Lake for product transfer to northern Ghana..
BOST and VRA have been laying pipelines even before Kenya got it independence....
CSTRR: Good for Ghana, but there is a trap to be avoided.
The carribeanization of Ghana.
I personally wouldn't want my country to be carribeanized.
Where people just come, have a good time for a short while and then go back to real countries where they carry out their economic activities and make money.
SUFFERInSMILIIN: Just 30 let's talk business and me and your Ghanaian people I was just watching a documentary here in Brazil about the Volta river and dam, the documentary was very interesting, is it true before the construction of the Volta Dam the area was believed to have more gold than Ashanti
The dam lies behind the Akwapim-Togo range of mountains and the entire stretch contain pocket of gold collection
rvp2018: You're in 2017 - we did that debt swap - that is just sealing the anus and hoping to stop the Ghana like choleric diarhoea. Give it one more year - the shit will hit the fan again. Operational cost will exceed revenues - and new debt will rise.
I'm waiting for the year that people will stop dying from cholera in Kenya
nairobi is not even more developed than Kampala and you are already talking about a highly developed Casablanca?
Shma: Narrow the topic, let's focus on the mains - before your minuscule brain cells burst out of the heat.
Cities for instace; Anyone will tell you that Nairobi is more developed than Casablanca. With their ancient buildings, Nairobi is doing modern skyscrapers & low rise buildings..
Lagos with bigger GDP than Morocco can't defend itself, or can you?
