Lol u don't indeed... better tell ur government to pay back the electricity debt they owe us.. and that ur imp president should stop making frequent visit here.. he has been here more than 5 times since he was elected.. it was even the VP,some governors and minister that receive him.. grin
first of all
He wasn't president when he went to Nigeria
He went to see his friend
The other time , it was your stupid governor who built a statue of him.
Second issue , you don't supply electricity to Ghana so shut up. Your country can't even supply Abuja with electricity let alone Ghana.
Thirdly when it comes to debt for gas
That's how the gas offtake and supply market is .
Do you want to drink your gas ?
You don't even have countries to supply to anymore
You should be thankful we feed your economy 1B dollars every year in gas payment.
The US gas production is up so they're not importing like before.
If your country joke , we will dump their gas and go for gas from equatorial Guinea

a) you know nothing about Asian societies (particularly china)

b) your knowledge of economic and foreign affairs is painfully lacking at best

c) you are one of those automatic Anti-American trolls thus it's impossible to have an intelligent discussion with you.
two things I know I've notice

brother, the u.s. is also a heavy manufacturer of products and has Canada and Mexico as neighbours, who also have thriving manufacturing sectors. saying that without china, u.s. supermarkets will become like Venezuela is a completely ignorant statement that requires ignoring every other economic factor. fact is China while the largest place for cheap labour, isn't the only option whereas no other nation on earth comes close to. the raw spending power of the u.s.
fact is China needs u.s. trade more than the u.s. needs china as its income is largely dependent on its trade relationship with the u.s.
fact is an economic instability is far more detrimental to China than it is to the u.s. and the Chinese government knows this. the u.s. will probably suffer some inflation (nowhere near hyper inflation) but with a few steps such as investing in the energy sector and making a manufacturing pivot to African countries with cheap labour, the problem can be remedied in a few years top. the u.s. economy recovered in record time from the worst economic crisis since the goddamn great depression. it's economy is far more resilient then people think.
it has been throughly tested by some of the worst economic disasters and had consistently recovered faster and stronger than anticipated.
China on the other hand has faced no such tests and is run by a neo dictatorship which means that should economic conditions worsen to high degrees, there is a far greater chance for an uprising against the institutions and the central government itself. the u.s. has no such fears.

it's always good to look at the big picture rather than a single pixel.
you are laughable
One thing you don't know about the Asians is the fact that the structure of their society will never bring about an uprising .
Watch this , it's playing out so nicely .
Asia is the new financial powerhouse

The US has got no money to spend around the world
It coffers will dry up when drastically when China stops lending.
The war in Syria is all about geopolitics and thanks to Russia , the US is not going to win it .
China holds all the cards and how they play those cards is up to them. Oil trade is what keeps the dollar in circulation around the world .
As China has managed to get Russia and Iran
A huge oil supplier on board trading on petroyuan and since China is the single largest consumer of oil around the world, Saudi Arabia will have no choice than to sell it oil to China to be paid for in Yuan.
The entire Asian countries will have no objection transacting their international trade in Yuan because their economies are tightly link to that of China and that is where 80% of true economic activity and investment comes from .
Even Japan is in a mess and you think the US economy can escape it. I'm laughing grin grin grin
China will come out with damages but it will survive
The US will crumble

Your analysis is purely out of place. You don’t understand how international trade and politics operate. If you think China can do without the US economically, you must shine your eyes to see beyond the superficial. US is the biggest Chinese market for good. That’s why Trump is putting more tariffs on Chinese products because there is huge trade imbalance between US and China. China sell more to the US and get US dollar than US sell to China. Now imagine what weak American economy will mean for China’s economy. So your claim above about China is a fallacy. Products that cost $5 to produce in China are sold $200 in America. Which country in the world do you think China can get that kind of mad purchase of their products from? Only America. About petrodollar. The Middle East are the ones enjoying American petrodollars for your information. America itself is an oil producer and exporter of natural gas for your information. America is reserving her oil while buying from the Middle East. If you don’t know, you need to know that all the petrol anywhere used in America is mixed with 10% bio fuel. Electric cars are becoming order of the day on the streets of America. In the next couple of decades, Middle East and Russia will start drinking their oil by themselves. No more petrodollars for them.

Russia economy and Nigeria economy are the same in terms of them relying on crude oil for survival. No manufacturing is returning to Russia. 5 Nigerian naira is equal 1 Russian rupee. 360 naira is to 1 US dollar. Under Jonathan, Nigerian currency and Russia currency are more or less the same value. So what’s this noise about Russia about? Is it because it spending all her crude oil money on weapon acquisition? Let Europe stop buying oil from Russia. Russia is finished.
the Russian economy is a highly productive high tech one and it's the exact reason why sanctions are having no effect on their economy
Their defence industry is contributing more to their economy than oil is
Same as their agriculture industry
All sanctioned products have been replaced with domestic productions. Europe sanctioning Russia is like them kicking themselves in the foot. Cos Russia is the single largest market in Europe.

first of all
Russian economy and Nigeria economy are not the same.
Second you don't know what petrodollar means
With less countries using the dollar for international purchases, thereby spreading the dollar
Hyperinflation will set in on the US economy.

No country can survive without the other with regards to trade . Domestic Chinese consumption surpasses what they send to the US. Without China , supermarkets in the US will go empty, US will become the new Venezuela.
As for your production cost market cost analogy
Only the production cost goes to China , the rest stays in the US.
The entire US economy will come crashing down
Should people not find anything on the selves of their supermarket.

I can see Russia supporters on this forum shouting Russia this Russia that. They have forgotten that war is not fought only by military hardwares. There is only one weapon Russia does not have against the great America. It is called Economic weapon. Or has anyone ever heard Russia placing economic sanctions on the US? Yes, that’s a weapon Russia and it’s allies (if at all they have any good allies) don’t have against the US.

US has announced less than 24 hours ago more sanctions against Russia companies. That means war has started already even without firing a weapon. As it stands right now, Russia is the one at the receiving end of the war. US can afford to fight Russia without firing a weapon just with economic restrictions. But Russia cannot fight back in like manner. If Russia is heavily sanctioned by US and her allies, trust me, Russia economic will nose dive. Then their government will be forced to negotiation table.

Until Russia can have the capability to place economic sanction on the US which it doesn’t have the power to do, then US will continue to be the must powerful country in the world with both economic and military weapons at her disposal.
actually , all of those sanctions are having no real effect on the Russian economy than helping it ramp up it domestic productions . Manufacturing is returning back to Russia and when it become more critical , Germany the power house of Europe will slap Europe to not follow through with ant sanctions cause Russia is a huge market for Germany.
Russia has it eye on the mean goal which is being driven by China to weaken the US economically.
The Middle East will follow China on the economic front and the petrodollar will be gone.

You guys are just making all these Russia-glamorization noise online, but you have no clue how powerful the US is.

See, America can virtually shut the entire earth down in 24 hours if it boils down to it - and that's without firing a single missile. Self-restraint is the only thing that keeps the US in check, not your pathetic Russia or third-world China.
actually , the only thing keeping the peace of this world is Putin's restrain and patience.
His parliament and cabinet is ready to give him war orders.
His defence industry is already ready producing rapidly for war as ordered .
Everyone knows tomahawks are a mess
Those newest and smart weapons are not a match to the Russian ones
Now the Pentagon is investigating why so many of the 105 or 103 missiles were intercepted by updated missiles defences

Nigeria Mobile Payments Still Hugely Untapped

Data from a new report series from the NBS, produced in collaboration with the CBN, reveal that 462 million transactions valued at N29trn were recorded on electronic payment channels in Q4 2017.

As expected, ATM transactions dominated with a volume of 240 million. Internet subscriptions directly correlated with electronic transactions stood at 98 million in December 2017, according to the Nigerian Communications Commission. This translates into a penetration of 53%.

Based on data from the Nigeria Inter-bank Settlement System (NIBSS), total active bank accounts as at February 2017 stood at 67 million, pointing to 36% exposure (of the country’s population) to electronic payment transactions. Financial inclusion is still far from its optimal level.

The volume of point-of-sale (PoS) transactions shows the impact of the cashless policy on the economy. The NBS data show that 47 million PoS transactions were recorded in Q4 2017, representing increases of 20% q/q and 113% y/y.

Meanwhile, mobile payments recorded 12 million transactions valued at N307bn (US$1bn) in Q4. The value of transactions grew by just 30% y/y and accounted for only 1.1% of total electronic transactions.

Mobile banking remains hugely untapped. Indeed, better synergy between telecommunication operators and banks would boost e-transactions. Kenya is the leader in this field through M-Pesa and other platforms. Ghana is worth a mention, too: its central bank has reported total mobile transactions in 2017 (12 months) of GHS156bn (US$35.9bn), compared with KES4.6trn (US$45.3bn) for the 12 months to June 2017.

You are using the wrong measurement to compare Ghana to Nigeria. The right measurement is to compare standard of living, governance, economic progress and the business environment etc.

South Korea currency is a devalued currency because it wants to make its export attractive and discourage its citizens from depending on imports. It takes 1000 KRW to get NGN: 331, 91 Nigerian Naira's.

Also, 1,000 West African CFA Franc equals 676.80 Nigerian Naira.

Things are expensive in the West Coast. A litre of petrol cost about a Dollar while we buy fuel for less than half of a dollar. You can buy a can of malt for about N500. Automobiles cost more in Ghana than Nigeria.
cost of living and standard of living are way higher in Ghana than in Nigeria
