TV/Movies / Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 10:38am On Aug 21, 2010 |
The movie's intention was to make us concentrate on the fast paced action routines so we could ignore the bleeding story. But it didn't work! Dead. Dead. Dead. For Jolie's actin and the action routines 50%. |

TV/Movies / Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 11:44pm On Aug 18, 2010 |
Why are we comparin TDK and Inception? They are on 2 very opposite divides. Only common ground is Nolan. Compare Inception with Momento and 12 Monkeys. That being said Inception is INTELLIGENT. And like Vesc said, its intelligence is its very flaw. Only the movie can surpass itself. JeSoul Oya help me calculate the average ratings then. Lol. *puppy eyes* Next movie I suggest Salt. |
TV/Movies / Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 7:02pm On Aug 18, 2010 |
@JeSoul You didn't notice the children wearing the same clothes? Bite me! Saw the movie twice the same day. Noticed the clothes the first time and the ring the second time. Vesc knows about the ring. Lol. And I'll say 12 monkeys is more confusing. Still dunno jack what the movie is about. And I'll never tell you how many times I've seen it. Lmao. @vesc Yea a hall of fame is important. I guess that idea came to you through inception *i did that after I finished with Goodluck* lol. @ everyone Nice reviews everyone. Nice. ill do the review summary in a bit. *plenty reviews and ratings. I'm dreadin punchin calculators to get the average rating* lol Next movie! Suggestions, |
TV/Movies / Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 3:05pm On Aug 18, 2010 |
Obinna Leave spambots jare. Type! Lol Vesc My bad! I left out the ring part. I forgot. But you know that bit already. Anyways the movie, no matter how much meaning to it we stumble upon, is great. The fact that everyone who saw it has somethin to say is testament to that fact. Double thumbs up to Chris Nolan. Are we done reviewing? |
TV/Movies / Re: The Movie Club by justkunmi(m): 2:20am On Aug 18, 2010 |
Nice reviews y'all. Very nice. @ijaw girl and @jeSoul really dug deep. I think vesc is shy or just plain modest. He doesn't want to show off his understanding of the movie. Lol Ok. My review. I won't dwell on the obvious. As everyone knows its a great movie in almost all aspects. I'll just make a few points. I think the whole movie is a dream. Yes. No reality at all. We are never once shown reality. Every frame of Inception is a dream. Whose dream? My money is on Cobb. There are a number of key elements throughout the film that suggests that the whole movie was a dream. Eg (Mal and Saito both tell Cobb to take a "leap of faith", Cobb predicts what Saito will say in limbo), (Saito saving Cobb in Mombasa) But one question comes to mind. WHAT IS OUR TOTEM? By "our" I mean we the audience. We learn very early on that the one unimpeachable way to know whether or not you're in a dream world or the real world is to test your totem; an item whose behavior only a single individual can identify and predict. In the case of Cobb, it's his wife's spinning top. What event in Inception is the audience aware of that no one else can know? There isn't one. There's no point in which reality is clearly and unimpeachably established. The film opened into a dream and ended in a dream. Yes. The end was a dream. He never saw his children in reality. Cos there was no reality. The children wore the same clothes and didn't age a day. Both in his dreams and the endin of the movie. But it must be noted that the whole movie being a dream DOES NOT REMOVE FROM ITS QUALITY. One thing I told my friend who was yet to see the movie was " its is immune to spoilers". Even if you knew how it ended gettin to the end is the thrill. My summary ; INTELLIGENT Rating: 98%. Pls. Its just my tots. You can disagree. And forgive my long post. It had to be long. |
