Our winning run would start on Sunday. . .
I'm so happy about Saha. The dude has wasted enough time on his sittin on his broke ass injured. Now is the time to get back and get us some goals.
He mite not start. A sub for his first match in a while would do. Anderson and Owen are declared fit.
A real boost.

Too bad Tottenham would be at the receiving end of all the venom United's gon' spit out on Sunday. . .

I share your view. . . Tottenham just happened to be the team that 'ld be at the receiving end of united's fury.

United's gat no choice. . .This match is mo important than a cup final. . .and we'll treat it just like that. .

3 points. . .nothing less

Am eazy Razorr. . .Just that some idiots spring up here and there and just write utter crap just because they gat internet!!!!.

Dont worry bout United. We'll be back.
But seriously, I don't see any problems with us. 3 games, 2 points, 1 goal,  . .
I keep saying this. We lost 4 games and drew more than 6 last season and still won the league. The reason our current run is so glaring to everyone is because its comin at the beginning of the season. . .
All we need now is a massive win. . .and we'll start cruising on our winning streak. . . . .

Tottenham should provide us the tonic . . . .

Evra alone on the left or Fergie gets a replacement before the window closes. ?
Wat happens when the matches start coming in torrents with the Champions League, EPL, FA Cup and the Carling Cup.?

What is this crappy talk about Martins? I cant believe people are even suggesting it. Rooney and Tevez are already a handful, now you want to add Martins? That would be utter crap. Football suicide. . .
If United is goin for another striker, it'ld be a tall person. . . and that automatically rules Martins out. .
Jus imagine an attack line that's got Rooney, Tevez and Martins,. . .comical and definitely suicidal. .

Heinze I hear has moved to Real. Am not totally happy but at least its better than Liverpool.
I wish him the best and he should say hi to Ruud for me. . . .

Real Madrid have agree a fee with Manchester United for Gabriel Heinze, according to reports in Spain.

Marca claims that a fee of around 12 million Euros (just over £8m) has been agreed between the two clubs for the Argentine left-back, who has been prevented from joining Liverpool.

It is thought United are happy to sell him to a club outside of the Premier League and so it could be up to Heinze whether he wants to return to Spain.

The Argentine is apparently planning an appeal against the Premier League ruling which denies him the chance to join Liverpool.

He could be faced with a tough decision - take the exit route to Madrid or pin all his hopes on an appeal that could fail and see him stuck at United.

Everyone is shouting. . .anyway, I didn't expect anything less. .

Like I said before, 2 points in 3 games is not a brilliant start at all. United did better last season at the beginning of the season. But the league is still outstreched before us and of course for Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool too.
Every team would surely drop points at some point. Just unlucky, or even lucky as the case may be, United is dropping theirs at the beginning of the season.

We lost games last season and we drew too. The only reason United's present position is so glaring is because its happening at the beginning of the season. . . . Either spaced out throughout the league or concentrated at the beginning, every team would drop points!!!. . .

Loyika,
nice analysis. Infact, I'ld be disturbed if I didn't see them. But know this, This is just 3 games outta 38. . 35 more. And dont forget the crucial December/January games. . .and the African Nations Cup period.
United is 16th no doubt, and Man City is 1st. . . . .

Lets wait till mid season and then we can compare notes. . .

No qualms, United. .

United fans, I still believe there is no cause for alarm. Its a bad start no doubt but the league is still on course. United drew close to 6 games and lost 4 last season but we still ended up winning. Why this is so glaring is because its coming at the beginning of the season. United can move from this loss and start a winning streak. . . Which I definately forsee.

We are about 19th on the table now. No problems. We'll bounce back. I know that for sure.

We've not been playing bad. Jus been unlucky.

I'm not doubting RVN's striking abilities. He is a goal machine. But he could be more. . . .
Raul scores tap-ins and he also creates his own goals. . .
Owen scores tap-ins and also creates his own goals. . .

I'm glad with Tevez, he can be an RVN and himself. .
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by justkunmi(op): 5:21pm On Aug 17, 2007
Jackal,

Exactly my point. We'll rather have a striker that can create goals, and we have that in Tevez. That dude singlehandedly kept West Ham in the EPL.
So anyday, a Tevez is better than an Hunterlaar.

Only if Saha can be fit. I've said here before that Saha is a lucky striker. He gambles and sometimes he gets it right. He scores very difficult goals and misses chances even my grandmother would not dare miss. He is very incosistent. But on his good days, he can be lethal.
I just wish he were fit so we can have options. . .

Rossi, Rossi, Rossi. . .This guy's name always come up in my mind when I think about our present striking deficiecies. .
We once had Rooney, Ole, Saha, Smith, Rossi and Tevez. . . now we have just Tevez.

Hope Rossi's sale wont hunt us. . . .

lol. , Larsson? Yeah rite!.

Jackal, I totally understand you, but my point is , WE DONT NEED A POACHER TO GET GOALS!!!.
RVN was only a useful player in the box. Once outside the box, he is close to totally useless. Havent you watched him play at Real? He has stopped staying in the box. He has started gettin himself involved in the whole game. . .and dont you see he has become a better player?

Saha is not a poacher but he can do RVN's poaching job and more. He can join in the build up to a goal and can shoot from outside the box.
With a poacher, or a fox in the box as you said, you are playing with 10 men plus a guy in the box who scores!!!.
Like RuuDie said, football has passed that stage.

From the examples you gave, Drogba for Chelsea and the rest. These players are not poachers. Drogba is not a box player. He gets balls and scores on his own. He can create a goal on his own. So is Torres. He makes his own goals.

Jackal, Lemme ask you a question, who would you rather have. A prolific poacher who scores when the ball gets to him in the box, or a striker who creates his goals, helps in the build ups, and also scores tap-ins?

You just said it all. Thats all i've been sayin about this Hunterlaar issue. Football is not a one man show. Anybody can get the goal, so far it comes when it is needed.
See what United did last season. Everyone in the team scored save Gary Neville and of course the goal keepers. The goals can come, not from one person.

Point is, United does not need a poacher before we can score goals!!

I totall agree with you on some issues but I still maintain my point about Tevez. His similarity with Rooney is not a disadvantage. Infact, it should be put to good use. Like u said, Fergie can and should work out a formation to accomadate the 2 of them, but in the absence of Rooney, Anderson can suffice. . .

Hunterlaar or Torres, can be massive flops, you never can tell. But the dutch factor is on Hunterlaar's side.
And then again, the RVN issue comes to mind. . .And I think a lot has been said about that.

Anderson and Nani are young and still inexperienced in the EPL. But I have a personal problem with Nani. In the last 2 games he played, he was trying too hard to be a Ronaldo we already have.
No doubt the young lad has got some skills, but why play like Ronaldo.huh?
It was very obvious in his moves. At instances he was supposed to lay off some passes, he held on extra long to the ball. tryin to do some flicks and tricks. . .We already have that in Ronaldo.
If I were Nani, I would create my own style. My own profile. And do things my own way, not Ronaldo's way. By this, you play better and develop yourself as a player.

I'm still waiting for Anderson to play and I'm sure he'ld fit in well. Especially if he partners Tevez in front.

And why hasn't Hargreaves playedhuh

Man City next. . . A massive win is of the essence for United . . .

Heinze's case is just annoying me, big time. The whole court drama is just annoying.

My take is, United must not let him go, even for all the tea cups in China. Cos we gat no one on the left, save Evra and the Champions League needs players like him.
He should just sit his ass down and play football.

Rooney's injury should not be a problem. Tevez and Anderson can partner like  you said. On the Hunterlaar issue, I still share the same view as I did before. .
Tevez would do well, and hopefully Rooney and that sissy called Saha would be back in time for the crucial December games.

At the moment, United is still well on course. We just need to take a step at a time with each game. Win tonight's game, get 3 points and prepare for the weekend match.

We need the maximum 3 points tonight. United should come out in their usual attacking form and storm the whole of pompey's defence.
Tevez would surely play today cos we gat no one else.

I really want to see Anderson play today too. And hope fully he will.

Anyone got updates on the Heinze issue?

United played beautifully. Maybe too beautifully to our own disadvantage.

And you just had to mention the 50 million, didn't you. Only Nani, played in today's game. All other 3 new signings did not. Oh i forgot you didn't see the match. So wait till they all play before you start using that line "so much for 50 million pounds".
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by justkunmi(op): 6:52pm On Aug 12, 2007
@Jackal
Yeah! Another example is our first leg match against West Ham last season. We played beautifully but we ended up losing. Its good this is comin early so we can know how well to tackle this kind of teams when next we meet.

But like I said, the draw is also an eye opener. We need to work twice as hard as we did last season. All the teams are better and meaner! So to win the league, we need to take every single chance we get. And i mean EVERY SINGLE CHANCE! No room for slip ups.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by justkunmi(op): 6:26pm On Aug 12, 2007
Did United deserve a draw? NO.
But in a kinda way, YES!
We were kinda complacent in attack. Maybe we underestimated Reading.
Ronaldo was way too flamboyant. He was trying too had to impress.

Infact, maybe we deserved a draw. So we would understand that last season is gone. This is a whole new season with a whole new set of opponents. To do well, we'll need a brand new zest and that United attitude of winning we had at the beginning of last season.

This draw would give us a nudge and bring us back to life and the reality that all other 19 teams are title contenders!
