Then it means you are not going to smile for a very very very long time dear!!! Saraki will be your senate president for a long time to come.

You're clearly pro-PDP. So why does it bother you whether or not Saraki remains SP? Oh, lemme guess, you're just interested in a divided legislature innit! Shior!

WombRaiders:

Do you expect your employer to confirm that they will sack you on the pages of newspapers?

Moreover given the sensitive nature of the banking a news or rumour of downsizing will send negative signals to depositors and investors so they will never admit sacking!

But what I can confirm is that from Monday next week, most bankers who will report to their desk will find their login passwords returning "wrong password! Contact HR"

Lolz

This is unnecessary sensationalisation. Besides, I am yet to see anyone give an objective analysis on how the TSA is responsible for the loss of almost 12,000 jobs in the banking sector.

This is daft news reporting. On one hand article says 'breaking, banks to sack 11,000'. On the other hand, the banks zenith and UBA deny the stories. Yet it's 'breaking', with no credible source. Shioor!

As much as these accusations are likely to be true, we need to ask ourselves a few questions;
Will Saraki be tried?
Will he ever be found guilty before a court of competent jurisdiction?
Will he go down without a fight?
What impact will this have on the legislature?
What's the end game?
Let's not lose sight of what's important.

And who made Al Jazeerah judge and juror? Nigerian journalists are corrupt and stories are up for sale to the highest bidder, but western journalism is not any different as it promotes propaganda a la Fox News and its openly anti-Obama stance.

Edun, Utomi and the former FIRS woman all seem like solid choices. I however don't think Femi Falana is a good choice for AGF. He comes off as all bark no bite and that's not what we need. We need a cerebral lawyer who will objectively navigate the web of justice.

Just what exactly has Pdp got to do with this?

Did you read the article? PDP saw the formation of the senate leadership as a means to regain leverage and relevance. Comments from the article suggest that PDP is looking for further leverage from the ministerial nomination saga. Comprendre?

These governors need to understand public sector accounting and run states like a business with an income statement and a statement of financial position with the shareholders being the citizens. Some of these guys are business owners and certainly don't run their personal businesses the way they run their states.

Sometimes people pray day and night, fast and go to all sorts of vigils asking for God to elevate them, but God sees their hearts and knows it is filled with pride and covetousness. So He puts someone above them, less qualified, less deserving. Yet they do not repent, instead continuing in their folly.

OP, pray for divine wisdom.

You are the one not seeing the point and you are still continuing in your insensitivity. Of what good is a government without a viable banking sector? The TSA is a beautiful initiative, I merely called for circumspection in its implementation so that we don't create more problems in trying to solve one.

I apologise for not sulking. You believe this is a beautiful initiative innit? So tell me, how will you have suggested that this should have been implemented. Government should have insisted that banks don't sack? It's not enough to speak big grammar and ask for 'circumspection'. lipsrsealed

I still don't understand why people are quick to call Buhari a dullard. This is a former head of state and current president. Through his career, he has achieved at least one or two things than some people's fathers. Yet, some folks would spit out "dullard" when they cant use the same word for their own dads.
What makes him a dullard? This man has only been in office for less than 4 months. Whether anyone likes it or not, he is a leader at the moment and deserves to be respected as one

I kinda have a problem with the use of that word when I know some of the posters that are quick to use that word have dads with no known achievements. Yet they are quick to call someone else's dad dullard and bow to their own dads no matter how dumb he is.

I'm not tied to the 'dullard' in anyway, I'm just talking about courtesy and respect for elders/leaders.

LMAO. See you letting trolls get under your skin. Ask yourself if their opinions are comparable to the opinion of a fair and reasonable person. If you can't answer in the affirmative, ignore and move on.

I disagree with you on this. Are you saying Pro-apc states were not favored in the banks lending. How come states like Lagos, ogun, osun finished the last tenure with a huge debt profile? You are also insensitive to the attendant challenges sudden loss of job brings to bear on the affected persons.

Buhari was not circumspect in the enforcement of that policy.

You fail to see the point. I said lending was skewed in favour of the pro-pdp politicians and their businesses. At no time did I say no lending was done to APC states. You say I'm insensitive to the effect. Bro, I'm just being a realist. The TSA is a much needed initiative. Or don't you agree? The government has no control over how banks decide to react to a change in where and how government wants to keep its revenue.

This should obviously point out to you that the issue of downsizing in companies or financial institutions isn't peculiar to this administration alone, Its a cankerworm that has been embedded in the fabrics of our economy. Crying Wolf won't solve the problem.

Asides the issue of TSA, Banks downsize at intervals, A massive retrenchment exercise was called out in the banking sector last year, Was PMB the president then? My point is, Something needs to be done about Employment Generation so everyone doesn't rely on banks because the Banking Industry has been the largest employer of Labour for the past 4-5yrs.

Healthcare?? C'mon bro. Our hospitals have always been bad. Even GEJ and his Wife used to travel abroad for medical attention so what's the fuss about?

I admire your courage for continuing to respond to this troll. Banks with plans to lay off staff just found a convenient excuse. The truth is some of these banks strongly skewed their borrowings in favour of politicians and businesses which were pro-pdp in the last administration. Now that power has shifted hands, honey has stopped flowing in certain directions and loans have gone bad.

Question to all critics of the 'lopsided' appointments. If you're elected President of Nigeria, what will be your basis for selecting people to man the 'core' roles in your cabinet?
1. Trusted and capable friends/acquaintances
2. Federal character
3. Recommendations from politicians
4. Others (please specify)
