Futureukstudent: lol there is at least one case of POF being checked at the Poe on this thread. I have heard 3cases for this year only tho Yeah, as justwise had said they do it on suspicious cases. So it's advisable to still keep some fund while travelling. |

justwise: They do have all the time to do that if they have reasonable suspicion, I have watched them in a TV documentary matched a Nigerian to a cash machine at the airport to check his account balance. It turns out he doesn't have the money as claimed.
Thought he was on visiting visa but the point I'm trying to make is that they can verify anything at any point. Hmmmm, you're right justwise, verification can happen anytime at the time of entry, I also saw some of these on YouTube videos, mostly visiting visa with high level of skepticism of not having enough fund to sustain themselves, but yet to see student visa refused entry into UK because he has no money in his account. It's possible as you have said not disputing that fact but still amazes me, may God help us in this race. My brother was asked some simple questions in accounting when he was at Heathrow, because he studied Msc corporate finance at Salford. I am still expecting others to share their experience the likely questions being asked or if they had same experience of showing their proof of fund at the point of entry as a student. Please ooo let's learn so I can keep my money intact abeg. It doesn't worth it after all the stress in getting the visa you're then refused because you can't show enough fund at the point of entering the UK I could have transferred or used the money for accommodation, foods and other important things to take along remaining few funds. |

HSpecial: Guys please help me attend to this Bro, relax I am yet to see or hear any evidence of the immigration officers checking your proof of fund at the port of entering the UK. The most probable question they could ask is questions related to your field of study or programme and destinations In the UK.POF is dealt with at UKvi. (My opinion). Nobody has that time to confirm the proof of the fund already used for a visa, you have the right to transfer your money after your visa or pay the full tuition and necessary bills, accommodation and all the things you wish. See oyinbo understands all these things, look if they don't want you to school in the uk why do you think they give you 28 days of pof. Its Just to make things easy base on their new policy, they want to achieve a certain number of skilled labour from graduate route. Hence the reason the process is not too difficult. The one that shocked me was my friend who forgot that he needed to do a TB test, he had kept his money for 28 days printed it out and on getting to TLS he was asked, he quickly left there went back to book TB with IOM but later to gate crashed and did it after two weeks. He still got his visa. He is in Birmingham now. Lol. |

preciousmudia: Thank you for your response, when you used them, did they require a transit visa? Not at all, under the airport transit for most African airlines you don't need a transit visa if you're not entering the city, if it's within the airport no need, African countries do not need any transit visa for such purposes. Just stay at the airport like 1hr with other nationals en route to London. The only disadvantage of royal air Maroc is gbo gboero thing..everybody, Egyptian, Ethiopians, Nigerians, lots of different kind of people. I took it then because it was hard for me to get a connecting flight to Manchester directly from Lag, so I saw it directly from Lagos to Manchester, stop at Maroc first then connecting to Manchester. I love it sha. |

To be on safe side the best way is to use someone abroad or your domicilary acc to pay it yourself. Many merchants are out there and their rates are normal high like the aboki rate. Just be careful, the cheaper one was pagaverve before now but CBN has stopped them for now. |

bobogee007: Thank you very much......It is all these generic reasons: base on travel history, family ties in Canada and home of residents, insufficient fund and the likes The same thing happened to me too, we were told to always say the truth, I sent my UK refusal to my school after I filled the cas form where it was stated have I been refused any visa, I said YES. They requested for the reason if possible the refusal letter, although I later got my UK visit visa then, I still scanned the refusal to the admission team and my CAS was out within 24hrs. |

I got a mail today asking me to provide my previous visa refusal letter which I did, but now I’m concerned this will not be an end to CAS. I’m afraid the school will no issue the CAS again Not at all, they want integrity, it won't have any effect on your CAS issuance. They know you're not perfect and your reason for refusal is to just confirm is not a criminal related issue. |

I have a dilemma and I need help.
Can I list my older sister/mother under dependents while applying for my visa? The plan was for my sister and I to apply for September intake and then bring my older sister and Mum later on. However, the current political climate in Nigeria is making us reconsider. Now, we're exploring the possibility of bringing both of them along with us under the dependency visa. Is it possible? If No, what's the best alternative/advice you can give? I'll appreciate your help. Sorry, it's so unfortunate that the rule does not allow siblings or parents as dependants, your only dependants are your wife and kids, |

mamatwiny: That was then. I have done it before and will still do it again to one agent that feels she is smart .I fell into her hands cos i was looking for cheap tuition but i was so busy. We had 3 projects running in the office so i felt i should outsource this application for her to handle. Truely, she had cheap schools but has serious attitude problem. I also found out she was no agent but an information marketer and has very little knowlege about what she is doing, so she gets customers and gives back a registered agent there in UK. She feels she is smart by blocking me out of her whatsapp and contact list after her threat, while still holding my money but she forgot i paid into her Nigerian bank account lol
Here is the procedure; You print your bank statement as evidence, take it to any court and get a court court order to block his account that you have been scammed . After getting the court order, head to your nearest police station, they will use the court order and instruct the bank to provide his bvn and also freeze the account, with a memo pad that he should visit the police station with address. With the bvn, all accounts linked to that bvn will be freezed in all the banks in Nigeria. He cannot do banking business nor even travel. Police will use the address in his bvn to arrest him . It seems they send signal to the police resident in the state that the frausdter is. Once the fraudster is arrested, it is either he agrees to pay back and stop the case, or police will bring him to your state where it was reported.
I just shared this for information sake. Police still works Whaooo..thanks so much I really appreciate, I pray it works. I will also share this with my friends. |

My brother even CBN will not help, I remember the time a colleague of mine saw some beautiful clothes online and paid the lady. She immediately absconded and wipe off the Instagram acc. I helped called CBN till today both bank and CBN couldn't do anything. The best is to be vigilant and do your findings before doing any payment. |

davidodaudu: Hello Everyone,
Please, I need advise on this issue. I am currently in a dilemma. I got admission in the UK for February, 2021 intake. I made a deposit of 4,000 pounds towards my tuition fee and started studying online while I waited for my visa. I submitted my priority visa application in feb. Unfortunately, 5days later I was denied visa. The reason for the denial was that the bank statement submitted was for 20days instead of 28days. This was an obvious error from the UKVI because the statement I submitted was for 30days, from 9/1/2021 to 9/2/2021. I emailed the school about the denial and I was advised to apply for an administrative review. Which I did on the 24th of feb. Its been 3 months since I applied for the AR and its still not out. I am done with my first semester, recently the university emailed me to pay the balance of my tuition fee (8000) or I will be reported to immigration. ( I am sure the finance dept. think I am in the UK already). My dilemma now is, payment of the balance of my tuition fee shouldn't be a problem. But I want to avoid a situation where if the AR is not approved I will not loose my money, and guarantee that the school will reissue me another CAS to reapply. Since I was not denied based on credibility but from an error from the embassy. Also the main aim of schooling in the UK is to qualify for the PGWP and for those who started study in January, 2021 I am told that we are expected to be in the UK by September. What happens if the AR delay hinders me from being in the UK before September? I also want to avoid a scenario where I will finish my study online from my home country and the embassy might not see the need to issue me visa. So I emailed the school asking that they delay the payment until the outcome of the AR or I defer the admission and continue from 2nd semester in September ( There is a second semester batch in September for my course). The school replied my mail telling me that I have 3 options: 1. Defer till next intake hoping that the AR would be out by then. What this means is new fess to be paid. 2. Withdraw- Stop studies and don't pay fees but the risk is that if UKVI contacts us, student no longer studying with us so automatic refusal. 3.Continue studying online and pay fees till decision is out and student can fly into the UK. From my understanding of the mail, the university wants me to start all over again in the net intake and pay a new fee or continue studying online and take my chance with the AR. option two is not an option for me. How do I go about this? Please what is the name of this school and which of the Bank's POF statement did you use, I hope the statement of account didn't confused them, Well, I will advise you continue online for now if you have the money, I still believe the embassy will review your decision with a positive outcome before the deadline. You have invested in that school already, moreover, your record with the UKVI is intact. This is a lesson for us all, Sometimes it's good to plan, if you are going for January 2022 start your plans ahead and know the pro and cons of your schools and your decision, weigh your options, banks statement etc then apply to the embassy at the earliest to avoid stories that touch, see how priority visa was wrong, just within 5 days they had rush and gave a wrong decision. Perhaps it was another POF that was used just to nipped the deadline for priority service. Or the officer had exhausted himself causing a miscalculation, No chance for review. I still prefer this standard visa that gives 3 weeks to conclude rather than 5 days with refusal. It is well. |

ariyike23: What distance is reasonable in terms of where you live to where you school ? 1 hour? 1hr 30 mins ? My sibling is applying to schools and the one that has offered her the exact course she wants is an hour 30 mins away from my aunt where she ought to live ... A 30 mins bus ride, then 1hr train ride .. 1hr30m is still fair but depends on her person, I.e how strong she is willing to cope with the stress. 1hr 30mins is still closed but the only issue here is the weather, considering the cold environment she is not used to..significantly, most schools will likely start face to face lectures from september 2021, hence, your sibling should prepare the cost implications and logistic well.. I will prefer 1hr. |

Do you have any idea how may days it takes for the telex to be ready with Zenith? After debiting you, the headoffide trade serv will create a dollar and pounds account for you. The naira debited will be change to dollar then cross exchange rate with pounds. So your school should be credited in pounds within 5 days. Please follow up and get your telex. |

1. The father's name on children's birth certificate is Sabur, while the name on the passport and sttment of a/c is Sobur, but the same surname. Any problem on this?
2. Pls, kindly send the list of Universities that accept HND for MSc in the UK.
Thanking you in anticipation. I think you should correct the children own, you need to align the name of the children with what is stated in your husband's passport and statement acc to avoid been refused a visa. Names are quiet important in visa applications as well as in relation to dependants, it should be handled carefully not confusing or complicated. Imagine an embassy with thousands of applications daily, they could delay your application trying to figure out something cooking,if you don't handle it with good explanation they may refuse you..it will save you stress to first sort the name issue first before applying. The second question has been answered by someone here before this page you may refer to pages before this one, also check out good affordable schools with your google search engine. Good luck. |

The monetary policy of Nigeria was made to get the naira lower to other nations of the world currency, by making investment and other foreign innovation easy for investors. I tried to argue it out, why not redenominate our currency and same reason they keep saying that govt wants people to come to buy things at cheaper prices here both Africans, Europeans and Americans to aid investment. In that way, our money can have value and be relevant to other nations. That's why the comparison of the purchasing power of cedes and naira cannot be the same. It has both advantages and disadvantages I just feel it's away too far. |
