jln115: The reason I said the old one could be used as an IFV was due to the sloped front and lack of windscreens..... Not because its similar to the Ratel, infact it looks more like modern day IFVs like the Patria or Badger, than the Ratel, fact it shares virtually nothing in common with the Ratel.
It does however remind me of the rg 34 I don't know the names of your vehicles, but this is one of the vehicles I said looks like the Ezugwu. You can see the resemblance. It is clear. |

pacretus: jeez Must we make everything appear funny. nice concept (I think)
This is more than just an Apc The driving generator house. Naija strikes again. It shows how excellently multirole it is. I can fight your enemies and also provide electricity for you to pump water. Naija don caste!! |

jln115: Judging by the photos, I think they actually went for a multi role platform which could also fulfil the role of an IFV, hence the sloped front and lack of a windscreen. Yes, the older Ezugwu can fit a large caliber gun. This was why I was saying the design concept is similar to the Ratel. But since dem born you too dey argue too much, u think say na fight. |

jln115: In sub-Sahara Africa Nigeria is clear second behind SA.
The ARA 2 has definitely impressed, and could potentially be a great export product The ARA 2 is a very beautiful looking vehicle, the army has also confirmed it's combat capabilities in the North East also. We are currently making very nice military vehicles from utility, special forces and MRAPs. We need to now look at offensive vehicles. With 30 mm and 40 mm cannons. |

They already deliver farm machinery to Nigerian army farms limited. I heard a few armoured vehicles companies started from selling farm machinery. |

Toju200: you're right bro .. I don't see any reason why we should ever import armoured vehicles again... ARA has now seen a competitor.. But ARA is gaining ground with 20 foreign sales... Competition is good for ARA, it would keep everyone thinking and on their toes. There is another company building another vehicle. Same as the ARA and Ezugwu class. When the 3 companies are through, the army should float a tender, all 3 companies bid for 1000 vehicles. |

The height of Nigerian made armoured vehicles is remarkable.
This version would give Proforce ARA a hot chase for the money with regards to sales.

Toju200: nice one Kabe1.. Now I see the vehicle you're talking about.. Nice improvement on the Ezugwu... They should maintain and sustain production of the Ezugwu MRAP, That new off-road vehicle Those two are the hot cake I admire.. I will post pictures of the new off-road vehicle. Just cool down. If we ever import APCs again, it's just boils down to corruption. |

With the pace of development in Nigeria's defence industry, Nigeria would not need to import armoured personnel vehicles ever again.
The only reason Nigeria would import vehicles from abroad would be because of corruption, that is if the army ever imports armoured personnel carriers in the future.
At the speed we are going we would be the second largest armoured vehicle manufacturer in Africa behind South-Africa. |

jln115: [s]Its not even designed for the same role bro!! The Ezugwu does not have the same designed concept.....at all!! if you said Casspir or Mamba then it would've been a different story!!
Stop being so stubborn you were wrong, admit it and move on, as simple as that!![/s] Irrelevant. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kabe1: 7:01pm On Mar 12, 2020 |
jln115: its not an opinion its a fact.
1. the Ratel is 6x6 not 4x4 2. The Ratel engine sits at the rear not the front 3. And most importantly the Ratel is an IFV not a Mrap Same design concept does not mean they look the same. Anyway, that's irrelevant, what relevant is the fact that Nigeria fields many types of locally built armoured infantry support vehicles.

nemesis8u: Eg CAR
Seleka got support via some of the neighbouring countries who acted as proxies for the West.
Anti balaka got support by shady groups exploiting the mineral resources of CAR as proxies for the West.
End result is quantum of support shifts towards the side who is in a better position to given indirect control. But importantly a state of conflict is maintained even though low keyed , but just primed enough to set it off again if so desired.
Main goal is to prevent a strong national government who will exercise full sovereignty of the resources of the country. Sir, even if all you said are true, what about the incredibly ineptness of some Africa governments. You mix that with Tribalism, and you see why many African countries are easily manipulated. This is from an African POV. |

lionel4power: No negativity..... But the Ezugwu MRAP is ugly as fuckkkk...
Probably the ugliest vehicle on planet earth...
That's why we love it. Quite a number of people say it's ugly, but i really don't see that. I think it looks nice, for it's design. Same design concept as the Ratel, there's another South-African vehicle that it looks like, and the Chinese vehicle used by Cameroun. |
